Knotting His Rejected Breeder

Alpha Ferins stood at the altar of the Silverpaws pack, with his head raised into the heavens.

He had spent an hour in that same spot, as his thoughts spiralled from one edge to the other.

First he thought about how far he had come, and how successful his path had become.

Then he thought about his wife, who died when life was supposed to get even better.

Next he thought about his seven sons.

Seven strong boys. His own seeds. The future of Silverpaw, and many other packs they would have control over in the future.

Finally, he thought about his beloved daughter.

The one he kept close at all times because she reminded him of her mother.

His beautiful daughter thought herself so smart.

She would escape from her room just to heal the sick and feed the poor.

He was very much aware of her activities. Why wouldn’t he keep a tab on his own daughter?

That was why it hurts him so much that the one time the wolves he paid to keep a daily watch on her failed, she was taken by that awful Ramon.

And that brought him to his last thought. Alpha Ramon. He had won the bid for the festival of the alpha’s. His pack would be used to celebrate the annual event.

The feeling that did it specifically for him and his family wasn’t something he could shake.

That was why he stood at the altar now, hoping to the moon goddess for some inspiration on how to navigate this latest temptation.

"Aren’t you tired yet?" He heard his first son’s voice from behind, but didn’t budge.

"You’re standing here, waiting for some sign. I say we go prepare for the festival of alphas tomorrow."

"And what makes you think we will be going, or that even if I choose to go, you’ll accompany me?"

"Because that is my sister," he took a step forward, his muscles rippling as he spoke. "I have withdrawn from acting on impulse because you asked me to do that. But whilst we wait here, our sister suffers. What would every other pack that fears us think? The moon goddess forbids they consider us weaklings."

"We’re not weaklings!" He snapped, and opened his eyes.

Turning around, he faced his first offspring.

"We’re not weaklings for taking a step back to plan first before we attack. The battle is still going on, and in case you haven’t noticed, we’re losing."

"That’s because you forbade all of us from going to the battlefield. Our warrior wolves are dying by the second. Haven’t you noticed since you restricted our movements, our wolves have been losing?" He asked, thick lines of frustrating marring his forehead.

"I don’t think the two have anything to do with each other. In my mind, Ramon has perhaps made a deal with the devil. That’s the only way he could possibly best me. But not for long, Cade. Can’t you see the bigger picture?"

"All I see is Sonia, scared to her bones. She has brothers who are supposed to move the world for her. Allow us to do that. You don’t even have to do anything, or give us any wolves. Allow us to go by ourselves. Just your son’s, and see if we won’t return Sonia home."

"A simplistic and doable plan, Cade. A simple man would jump at it. Send his son’s to war, while he waits behind his castle for their response. But I’m not a simple man, Cade."

He eyes him suspiciously, hating how vague he could be. His siblings had begged him to come have a chat with his father. They wanted him to revisit some of his decisions, and reconsider his stance on them.

There was no reason to have seven elder brothers, and you’re still trapped in one man’s hands. It was simply madness.

"What are your plans? What do You want to do that has you moving so sneakily?"

"Never doubt that Ramon is going to be punished. It would even happen sooner than you expect. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be by my hand, or that of my son’s. His days of reckoning will come. That’s what the moon.goddess says."

"Call her then. I’d love to have a word with her. To ask her if she would sit still and do nothing if her own relation was kidnapped."

"Be careful what you say. There’s a thing called blasphemy, you know?"

"I could give a damn about it. Anyway, if you’re not going to compromise, at least, let’s attend the festival of alphas. I would be really mad if gossip reaches me that we chickened out because of the host."

"Go then," he said, much to his surprise.

He blinked successively, then raised a brow. "You’re serious? You’re not pulling my legs, are you?"

"Why should I do that? If you feel like you owe it to yourself, your pride, the pride of our family, and your sister to attend the festival, by all means, do it. But you can only go with one of your brothers. And if something happens, do not think I’ll stop my plans to come save you."

"I don’t need anyone to save me," He said in a determined tone. "I’m my father’s son, anyway."

"Good. Go with anyone but wolf. I don’t want to send him into the world yet."

A smile transformed Cade’s stern face. "I’m guessing you want me to deliver this news to him. You do know he has been dreaming about storming bloodmoon, right?"

"That’s no business of mine. I don’t need him out and about. Take someone else. Perhaps from the triplets."

"Is that what you heard from the moon goddess? Your meditations finally paid?" He teased.

"Get out!" Alpha Ferins growled.

Cade broke into a feat of laughter as he turned around, and began walking away.

He had gotten under his father’s skin, but he didn’t care about that. He was just happy because at last, he would have a faceoff with the infamous alpha Ramon.
