Healers Shouldn't be this Powerful

Chapter 39: The Dancing Reaper Ballerina

In another hut not far from that one. A man sat cross-legged. One wouldn’t understand what he was doing by a glance but, there was a wisp of smoke surrounding him, steadily seeping into his pores.

Some of it has created a smoky white barrier around him. The One eyed giant breathed slowly with practised rhythm. The beads in its hair swayed side to side, chiming every time they struck the bangles wrapped around its forearm.

The hut appeared calm and peaceful despite the thick tension going around the village. Almost immediately Wizard Granha’s world energy absorbing session got interrupted by a psychic message.

Within his mind’s eyes he observed as a number of his guards were being effortlessly taken down by a being of unknown origin. Along with other beings that looked similar to that one. Then he saw two familiar faces with them.

’Seems you went and found help’ He looked closer to the direction they were headed. His eyes quickly widened. Abruptly he stood up. His jaws tightened as his nostrils flared. "You dare," he roared. His voice was so loud, it even startled the villagers.

Meanwhile, After taking down the bird, The team threw caution out the window. When Zumba and Garoth pointed at the direction where the cave went. Niklaus looked at Daxi. "Let’s see who gains the highest count" He declared with a taunting voice.

Daxi’s glared at him with confusion at first. Then a smile presented itself on her face. "Well look who’s ready to get out of his dippers, Keep up" As she spoke, her body got painted with darkness then melted into the ground.

Gorath and Zumba were confused at first then realisation came to them. "Hey stop, we have already been made, there will be a great number of guards at the entrance We..."

"Can I join?" Glasious interrupted.

"Urm..." Niklaus disappeared in the next moment leaving a streak of light trail following. "IF YOU CAN CATCH ME!" He shouted.

Gorath and Zumba froze in confusion. "Our intention has already been made, let’s assume they already know you are with us, what do you think will happen to your family if we wait or retreat?" Matilda turned to them and spoke in a slow, measured voice.

She then turned to Gladious who was still peering at Niklaus’s retreating figure. "Are you going to stand there?" She quickly parted with those words. "Whaaa.... Alright fine" Then in a flash she disappeared,

Seeing that they were ignored, and after contemplating what Matilda just said, their expression changed. They looked at each other and nodded before they followed behind. The next moment, a flare of fire ignited the sky.

Illumination the sky, summorning day. The shadows got erased, forcing Daxi to reveal herself. In front of her was a hall of Zombie-like One Eyed Hermits. Once Niklaus caught up and saw what was in front of him. A familiar feeling came bashing him like a coconut on the head.

The mindlessness, unchecked emotions and leaking bloodline. He quickly thought back to the day when a bridge was opened back on earth. This seemed all too familiar. ’So this is where they came from, and they were being mind controlled. It’s all adding up now’ But he didn;t waste another second thinking.

He materialised his twin bloody swords. Daxi saw his intention and commenced with her attacks, He didn’t follow suit.

He stood there for a good second, looking at her movements. The bending of her joints, the practiced measured stretches of her muscles, whenever she twirls turns and slashes. The pauses taken and transition after each attack.

"I can copy her muscle memories, but experience is what separates us. I’m going to have to try to see if I can get her to teach me the theory behind her fighting style, perhap" As he was Examining. A pat hit her on the shoulder.

"Seems like you are enjoying the show, is her body the canvas your pervy mind admires" Gladious has finally caught up. He didn’t waste another second. He jumped right in the middle of the battle.

Then came down like a meteorite, clearing a large area. The ground cracked under the weight of his gravity spear. Almost throwing Daxi off her balance. She quickly turned on him with a glare threatening to tear him up.

Acknowledging his mistake, he scratched his head apologetically. Soon after another wave came, Niklaus got out of his mind. A mind controlled zombie was coming for him. He quickly dodged the spear attack. "Too slow" With a horizontal slash, a head was rolling.

Then came the next, a battleaxe came with a down slash. To Niklaus this appeared in slow motion he pounced forward, plunged his sword in the Zombie heart then in one flowing motion, he slashed the oncoming one on the stomach, spelling its guts out.

Daxi looked like a ballerina dancing on the world stage. Despite having her muscle memories, Niklaus couldn’t be able to do what she was doing. It took confidence and trust in one’s skill. With a twirl a heart was plunger, a back flip a neck was slashed.

Back banding twist a head was kicked clean off. And when she wasn’t able to dodge, she turned to shadow then reappeared on the other side. She looked like a dancing reaper. Every move counted as one life.

Niklaus was doing some damage, but experience had become his bottleneck. He hadn’t found his battlestyle.

Soon after Matilda reached them, she wasted no second. She jumped in the air, used wind as her propeller. Then when she came down she was like a hammer, her sword was still in its sheath.

Wind Blades

The next moment, the whole area looked like it was consumed by a typhoon. Even Niklaus, Daxi and Gladious were caught up in it. Next thing they saw body parts start to scatter. The enemies who were dominating the area in numbers were now nothing more than splattered guts and rolling heads.

Niklaus glanced at her with a shocked expression. ’Why do I feel like she never reveals her exact power’
