Healers Shouldn't be this Powerful

Chapter 23: Day of the Red Sun

The sky screamed red, crimson as though painted in sorrow. Dark smoke rising from one location to another. The ground was soaked with red viscous liquid. The air filled with a tint of metallic smell.

If one was here, they feel their blood rush on the sight alone. The assaulting smell would have them forcibly empty their stomach. On a far hill on top of a boulder, a man sat allowing his hair sock in red to fluster in the passing breeze.

In his hand was a heart with a weak pulse ready to give out at any moment, The heart was attached to a core. He grabbed the cristal with the other hand and tore it away from the crystal.

"This world sure has an interesting physique, their vitality is top notch. And their genome is perfectly comparable to my immortal body. With this I’m one step closer to being a perfect specimen."

He stared at the red star in the sky, the sun appearing menacing as though to symbolise the world scale massacre it just witnessed.

The once pure planet is now a ball of red stain, population that runs in the billions reduced to none. When we take a step back. We can see behind the hill that man sat were countless hooded followers.

Their knees planted to the ground as though honoring a king. "I’m close to a break though. Let’s move out" With a symbol command, the space distorted.Thousands of bridges opened and the hooded followers went in.

One opened next to the man, he stood up, looked at his artful work with a look that held neither hate or joy. Just a distached man looking at a simple scene before him before he disappears inside the bridge.

The hill of bodies was left there, with the bodies having their chest carved out. One can see terror, pain and sorrow on each one of the dead. Be it men, women or child. This was a world of orcs. Which was purged in one night by the Sons of King Solomon.

Now left as nothing but fatalisers and paradise for beats without any intelligence being alive.

Niklaus and the group finally made it to the lit up building, unlike the others, this one had an opening allowing entry. The cohort didn’t waste a second entering. Soon as they walked in, they saw a familiar sight.

The natives, but this time it wasn’t on a screen but behind a glass. There were millions of cylindrical glass tubes, with beings appearing to be sleeping inside. An oxygen musk placed on their faces with occasional bubbles coming out, signaling life.

"Woah, I wonder if all buildings are the same as this one. How long have they been like this" Niklaus wondered. His hand held one of the closer glass containers.

HIs eyes glowed. As soon as he saw what was happening his eyes grew in size. "Are you surprised by what you see, child?" A disembodied voice sounded out, it sounded natural as though a living being spoke.

This quickly startled everyone, their weapons brandished and ready for anything. "No need to be alarmed, I apologise for scaring you. I’m Crato. The AI built by the Sacta race to keep watch"

Though the voice introduced itself, the group still had their weapons out, ready for anything. "Why are they doing this?" Niklaus suddenly asked a question. This quickly caught everyone’s attention.

"Because that’s the only solution, if they don’t, I fear the Sacta would cease to exist. You saw what I’ve shown you. That was but a small part of the whole truth."

"Is this the only solution you have? Why not try progressing further, this seems to be a little too aggressive"

"Ah, I understand, you seem to be under the impression that what I showed you is the whole story. You see, the man you saw. First Son of Solomon they call him. He’s like a God. No. He’s a God, as far as everyone is concerned anyways.

The Sacta grew more powerful after the clip I shown you. So powerful that one of their top awakeners was more powerful than that being I showed you on the footage, But still, once that man returned, It was as though he grew more powerful with each visit.

This didn’t stop the Sacta’s fighting spirit, they continued to break every limit that once thought existed. But with each strength gained, more still die. It came to a point that less than ten percent of the population was all that was left."

"Less than 10%, that’s messed up" Gladious was astonished by the revelation.

"Messed up it was indeed, But what can be done. That was until one of the survivors came with this crazy Idea" The voice spoke.

"But from what I’m seeing. As much as they were trying to fight with nature, still their desired results were still out of their reach: Niklaus interjected.

"To succeed it would be no difference than trying to reject existence itself. I don’t see that happening" He spoke once more

"Well you speak the truth and the Sacta also knew that. They are a race of strong raiders who have been to millions of worlds, seen a million scenes and learned millions of things. They used the knowledge they accumulated and this is as far as it could take them.

They then created me, a super AI, capable of learning and generating new thoughts. I have been thinking for countless years, looking for ways we could bridge that remaining step. Yet as always it eluded me.

That was until I saw you." The team was astonished by what they heard. And the last part shocked them more. So far Niklaus had shown them that he was no typical healer. Matter of fact his place in the team has been reivaluated.

Daxi who was a bit resistant to the thought of having a healer in their team was now glad to have him. If not for him, she might have died on her first raid.

God knows there are many people who count on her.
