Healers Shouldn't be this Powerful

Chapter 36: Then there was more

Gorath’s words hung in the air, Niklaus even wondered if the object was real or just a ruse. As if guessing his thoughts. "Of course the object is real, its effects have been witnessed by me and Zumba.

While others hungered for power, people like us were forced to stay in the Village. Before long, Gramha the Wizard began using mind control on anyone he deemed worthless.

Our race thrives on strength, which is why they didn’t mind much when the mind controlled warrior killed the clan member then, But Gramha’s actions threatened the survival of the village. That’s when we had to leave our people behind and seek other ways to gain power.

A few days later here we are" Gorath finished, then looked at the team of small beings that stood short under his shadow. If magic didn’t play a part he knew he could squash any of them without breaking a sweat.

Yet because of their strange power, it would only be a thought.

He could get it if he wanted. But it was something offered at the cost of possibly your life. This made him feel inferious, thus could only rely on the tiny giants before him. "What do we get from this?" Matilda asked. Both Gorath and Zumba looked at one another as though expecting this question.

"In our village treasury, sits hundreds of years worth of findings. Many invaders came with unknown artefacts, with functions unknown to us.

Over the years. We fought all kind of beings, some were powerful, besting us in combat,

But those who fell under our mighty strength, we used their belongings as trophies. We were lucky if they held simple artefacts that were easy to operate like the illuminating stick. But others are hard no matter how much we try to pry them. And then there are those metal things you have around your finger.

We make sure to stay clear of them, if ever someone tries to forcibly open it. It lets out a raging flame that devours the one responsible" Niklaus and everyone had their eye brows raised. Realising what he was talking about

"Sounds like a goopy place, imagine the look we might get our goblin hands on" Gladious spoke in a hushed yet excitable tone. It even had Daxi look at him with wonder. "Bitch aren’t you rich, is this how the money stays in the family?" There was confusion in her eyes.

Niklaus wasn’t any better than his friend, like peas in a pod. When he heard that last words, he even cleared his throat then swallowed. "Must be.. Must be quite the looty place" This statement had Matilda looking at him.

Her cold face, giving out an expression of confusion. As for Gorath and Zumba, they looked at them as if expecting this. ’As I thought, the invaders are all interested in one thing, and it never fails’ Gorath thought.

"Ignore this idiots, lead us to the Cave" Daxi said. At her words the Gorath looked hesitant. "What?" Matilda asked.

"You see, though the place doesn’t have anyone looking after it, there’s a patrol happening around that area, and it’s done by one of the gifted ones. Majda has gained amazing surveillance and relay power, allowing him to transmit his thoughts to anyone of his choosing. And can use any none thinking insect, bug or animal as his eyes and ears

He can’t control them nor do they know that their sensor has been borrowed." Gorath explained.

Matilda went silent for a moment. "Ok, you should have a temporary safe space, we have been fighting a while, we do need the rest and get our stamina back to its peak." Everyone agreed.

Then she looked at Gorath "When will this Majda take a break?"

"That would be at night. Though bugs and insects and Insects could see at night, that’s a limited sight, so they let a huge team of patrolling guards go and secure the areas. Which will be easier for us to get inside." He answered.

After getting her answer. The group followed the One Eyed Hermits into the deeper parts of the forest. Unlike the place where they had been hunting at. This one was much darker, the plants around them blocked the suns. Giving anyone who is under the trees a good shade with refreshing breeze.

But as they were walking, Matilda quickly gave Daxi a glance. Daxi returned it with a knowing nod. Then her walking style changed,

Since both the One Eyed Hermits were leading the way, they could see what was happening to the shadow being them.

It was as thought they were walking inside a shallow stream of water, each step creating a ripple. Thanks to her covered eyes, no one could tell she was walking with them closed. After she was done activating her skill, she started walking normally again.

But the skill was still in effect, which meant her eyes were still closed. "I thought there was only the first Son, when did the ninth get added into the mix" Gladious spoke in a hushed tone near Niklaus.

"Your stupidity amazes me once again. It must be a talent at this point, since when had it been established that there’s only the first son. First let’s acknowledge that an organisation which was seen operating hundreds if not thousands of years has surfaced today.

Doesn’t that worry you. We only got to know of its existence a few days ago, and yet here we are, antagonising one of their members. I hope he is a follower of Ninth Son and not the ninth Son himself. What if there’s a 100th Son. The more I learn about this oraganisation, the more questions I find myself asking.

Even getting involved now might not be a great Idea, but the lamp got us curious, these idiots believe we are interested in the lousy left overs left behind by races from other worlds." Niklaus spoke in a hushed voice.

When Gladious turned and looked at Matilda, she didn’t even try to deny, a simple head nod was all the confirmation he needed. "Damn, this is deeper than I thought." he muttered.

"Wait, don’t tell me you heard a story of a village in trouble and disregarded the fact that a world ending organisation is involved, were you really trying to play the hero against The Sons of Solomon?" Niklaus teased with a smirk on his face.
