Back on Earth news came that shook the world to its core. Their understanding and beliefs being challenged, making it hard to understand how it was possible. On a news site there was a title that caught everyone’s attention.
Fact of Fiction. A healer allowed to bear the title of Raider. Has the world fallen?
"What does this mean? Are they desperate?"
"This should be misinformation, if not, I can only say RIP to those poor kids who are forced to raid with him."
"Is he some kind of young master of a nation? Is this the peak of corruption, just what has our country come to?"
Many comments could be seen in disbelief and confusion, some even thought a joke was being played on them by the government. In the Military School. In an office, a man with a scare on his face, sat looking at a tablet.
His eyes went through each comment looking at people’s reaction. "Just as I expected, no one would accept this. Not that I care"
"So you really feel no shame putting our school in such a bad image. Do you know how people will view us from now on? This doesn’t just affect you.
You should understand the action of your school had put the lives of three promising students in jeopardy"
A man in an elegant suit spoke with such ferocity that The Director had to take out a handkerchief to wipe his face. "Do close your mouth when you speak. I can understand sign language all too well"
When the man heard the remark it almost looked like he was going to burst like a balloon. The disrespect and the shame of being looked down on. His pride felt challenged.
With ferocity, he slammed the table with his palm. The force almost broke it in half. "Do watch your mouth when you speak to me. You seem to forget who is a shareholder in this school"
As soon as he spoke, the room suddenly felt as though it lost a few digits of temperature. The air around the Director shifted. The chill, easy going demeanour he had a moment ago replaced the ferocious strong presence.
"It seems your parents really did a bad job teaching you about me. You think just because your family holds a prestigious name, they have a barring on me. And my school? Do you really think your chump change holds any significance in this academy.?"
With a swift motion he took out his phone and looked for a number in the directory. This action of course confused the scarfed man. After dialling, the phone didn’t even ring twice/.
"Director, to what do I owe this please?" A voice of an old man spoke on the other side. It was full of excitement, like a child finally getting their wish fulfilled. This confused the young man,
He recognised this voice but not once had he ever heard his grandpa speak with such gusto. "Right now let’s leave the Director aside, you are speaking to the First General." His voice was deep, emotionless. And without attachment.
The person on the other side of the call went silent for a moment. Then resumed speaking again.
"Ge..Geneal, Sorry I mean first General, You sound troubled, is there something I can help on the matter?" A voice of respect sounded out. ’Is that? No it can;t be, it shouldn’t be. My grandpa, a man of ice that can freeze the sun, Man known for his cold stare.
Is this not a Director, since when the first general rank can be handed out so easily?" The young man lost his elegant look, the high shoulders dropped, like a man who knew he was already defeated without throwing any punch.
"Si.. I mean First G.." Just as he was about to speak, he discovered he couldn’t say anything. His words seemed to have disappeared from him. "Don’t speak!" A command was issued.
"Mr Xuka, it seems your family sure knows how to repay favours. Who knew contribution could be seen as investments. Had I known that your family’s money had strings attached I would have politely declined your disguised offer"
*Silence.
The first general didn;t say anything more more. He could hear through the earpiece a mouth breathing with no end, Sounds of a man constantly shifting his body position was broadcasted through the phone.
"First General, you must be mistaken, not once have ever viewed that money as an investment. We never had any hidden motives against your academy." The old man spoke in panic.
"Oh, I’d believe your statement had there been no young man from your respected big family breathing down my neck. Hitting my desk, even almost breaking it. I love this desk you see, it was something I built with my grand-daughter, It holds so many precious memories.
"Whooo! Who dares... Sorry for shouting. If it’s not much trouble, could you hand over the phone to the blind mouse. I apologise for the inconvenience"
Jeffry’s back was full of sweat. Knees ready to give out. ’I’m dead. I’m really dead. Who knew a normal looking school director would be a hidden tiger, ready to pounce at anyone willing to make a fool of themselves’
"I believe the blind mouse is you" The director spoke,
"Grand...."
"You dare even call me GrandPa! How has our family brought a good for nothing like you into this world? Starting next week you are going to the frontline. You will be defending the world along with the brave soldiers from our world.
Then and only then would you know and understand what it takes to become a first General. Don’t bother packing, you won’t get a chance to change your clothing where you are going" Without any delay, the call was dropped.
Jeffery didn’t hear the call being cut, his mind was still on the frontlines. He always thought himself to be lucky to be born in a powerful family. Because of this he won’t be forced to go fight a battle against monsters, beats and invaders,
But a simple blunder cost him dearly.
"Ge..General coul...:
Just as he was about to plead, an icy stare locked hard on him. "Don’t make me have to throw you out" A simple command. Jeffery didn’t even try to contest. He was out the next second without looking back.
