Half a minute later, the Evil Spirit materialized behind Angel. It lifted a long fingernail to gently pick its teeth, a look of pure satisfaction on its face.

"Do you think she’ll come herself?" Angel stopped and looked toward the center of town. Philo was already there, piloting her Alchemy Golem and making final preparations.

"She won’t. Unlike that true madman Isaac, that woman is actually very cautious, despite her crazy act. These six were just her tools for dealing with you. Now that they’ve failed, she’ll just pretend it never happened."

"Heh... sounds just like something Her Highness would do. But for her to pretend nothing happened? There’s no such thing as a free lunch in this world." Angel shook her head, the corners of her lips curling into a manic smile. "So... how about I sacrifice this entire town to you? I know how to break through the Phase Magic Array and get to the real Philis Town."

"Heh..." However, the Evil Spirit was completely unmoved by the temptation of sacrificing thousands of Adventurers. It sneered. "Has killing a few grunts gone to your head? Don’t forget, your Time Loop is useless against High-level Knights, and there’s one stationed right in Philis Town. Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Sigh... you’re right. What a pain." Angel glanced in Philo’s direction, a flicker of resentment in her eyes. She was reluctant to just walk away, but what choice did she have?

Philo was the Eldest Princess of the Terra Empire, after all. No matter how much of an outcast she was, the resources at her command were far beyond what mortals like them could ever hope to imagine.

"Fine. I’ll deal with it later. I’ll just write it down in my little book for now. If she dies before I can get to her, the Terra Empire can pay her debt. Mmm, that’s settled." Angel pulled a small notebook from some unseen space and began to jot down Philo’s crimes, line by line, as she leisurely strolled down the street toward Isaac.

"Flesh Transformation: Great Sword Ghost!"

Meanwhile, watching the Trial Takers charge him from all sides, Isaac chugged a Mana Recovery Potion and unleashed his Flesh Transformation Magic with all his might. In an instant, the Ruby flared with a dazzling light. The rays of light intertwined, forming eleven mounds of flesh on the ground!

THUMP-THUMP... THUMP!

The fleshy spheres pulsed gently, as if breathing. A moment later, they collapsed inward, slowly morphing into eleven burly men clad in armor and wielding Knight’s Longswords!

The eleven hulking figures were clad in silver armor and looked almost human. If not for their bestial, cavernous mouths that stretched from ear to ear, and the savage Magic Power radiating from their bodies, one might have mistaken them for humans at a glance.

Great Sword Ghosts were a very peculiar type of Demon. In terms of physical strength and Magic Power, they were somewhat weaker than in their previous lives, reborn as only Tier Two Lower Demons. However, because they inherited nearly all of their past-life Combat Techniques, their actual combat power was generally at the Tier Two Middle level!

A rare few could even reach Tier Two Upper!

Unfortunately, Great Sword Ghosts were incredibly rare. It was a feat for Caesar to have found even one, so there had been no room to be picky. The specimen Isaac had used was merely an ordinary Tier Two Middle. Perhaps it could be made stronger with future modifications.

Isaac did a flip and landed back on the giant eagle, his movements incredibly agile.

He might be a Wizard, but being unskilled in close combat didn’t mean his physique was weak. On the contrary, fortified by Magic Power, a Wizard’s body was nearly as tough as a Knight’s. Otherwise, they could never endure all those sleepless nights of research, nor would they possess such excellent reflexes.

And Isaac’s physique was even more outstanding than that of other Wizards of his Level. Once he had money, he had chugged more than one Blood Essence Potion!

He hadn’t drunk them before only because he was poor and had to use his resources efficiently, not because he didn’t value physical enhancement.

Still, he wasn’t skilled in close combat. After all, melee fighting was about more than just physical strength; it required Combat Techniques and battle sense, and you couldn’t get those from a potion. He had heard that certain spells could grant a Wizard such abilities, but he didn’t know any.

But performing maneuvers like that was no problem at all.

Once he steadied himself on the giant eagle’s back, Isaac glanced in the direction the arrows had come from. A young commander in a silver robe was holding a Treasure Bow, its sharp arrowhead gleaming with a cold light under the golden sun!

"Still at it?" Isaac’s brow twitched. He immediately steered the giant eagle toward the archer, while on the ground, the Demon Wolves and Great Sword Ghosts charged forward under Liu Li’s command!

’Shooting one arrow is one thing, but did he think I’d just let him keep trying?’

"Huh? He’s not running? He’s charging at us?" The young commander in the silver robe fired another arrow, but after Isaac dodged it with ease, he lowered his bow. He watched Isaac’s rapid approach with some surprise.

"Is that right? Just as confident as the other Solomons, I see. Like his brother and sister." A brawny youth beside the young commander raised his hand, halting the group’s advance.

"Do we really have to follow the Eldest Princess’s orders and make an enemy of him? He’s one of the Solomons! I heard that Caesar guy already became a High-level Knight and even slew a High-level Black Orc!"

"Yeah, and Cheryl is about to become a Grand Arcanist. If it weren’t so difficult to raise their noble rank, they wouldn’t still be mere Viscounts."

The youth’s companions all began to chatter at once. They hadn’t approved of this plan from the beginning. They had all fought hard for their spots in this Trial; who wouldn’t want to compete properly?

But they’d had no choice—it was an order from the Eldest Princess. And even if the rumors all said she was out of favor, who would be stupid enough to believe them?

Still, if they had the chance, they would take the first opportunity to get out of this fight.

"Liu Li, kill them." Isaac had no interest in listening to their yapping. ’They attack me and then claim to have no ill will? Give me a break.’ He wasn’t trying to make friends in high society. If they dared to come at him, he would dare to kill them.

As he gave the order, a torrent of Flame erupted around him. Under his control, it rapidly condensed into a volley of arrows, hovering in the air and ready to be loosed!

"You—" The leader’s face darkened, but before he could finish his sentence, Liu Li had already charged, bringing her Knight’s Longsword down on his head!

He could only draw his sword to parry. Furious, he was about to launch a counterattack when a heavy blow suddenly slammed into his abdomen. His eyes bulged, the bloodshot whites filled with disbelief. ’Why can’t I sense these mysterious attacks at all?’
