The next day, Isaac sold off the last of his loot and then rode a giant eagle to the third island, which had remained in its original location.

By now, the ritual’s power had restored the third island to its original state. It was no longer a dilapidated battlefield littered with blood and corpses. As far as the eye could see, there was only verdant green, teeming with vibrant life and flourishing flora.

After landing, Isaac took a quick tour of the island, assessing its resources and taking notes.

’The Noy Clan is probably above such petty schemes, but there’s always a chance. An operation my size can’t afford any ’what ifs’.’ 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

After making a rough inventory of the resources, Isaac went to the shore to release his White Whale Avatar.

A streak of white light shot from between Isaac’s eyebrows into the sea, kicking up a small spray of water.

The streak of light then rapidly expanded underwater, and in the blink of an eye, it transformed into a White Whale roughly four meters long, swimming slowly through the water.

The man and the whale—one on the shore, one in the sea—stared at each other, their eyes filled with a sense of novelty.

’One consciousness, two bodies. I thought I’d need some time to adjust, but this is surprisingly smooth!’

’As expected of an Outer God—always premium quality!’

The only slight disappointment for Isaac was the White Whale Avatar’s size. While white whales aren’t large for their species—typically only three to five meters long—that was for an *Ordinary* whale!

’My whale avatar is a genuine Tier One Demon!’

’Shouldn’t it be bigger?’

Although it would continue to grow, the White Whale’s current size impacted Isaac’s plans. He would have to stay here for a while—at least until the White Whale Avatar reached Tier Two and had a fighting chance of survival in the ocean.

Besides, he had to register the White Whale with the Noy Clan. With its current strength, it was only suited for coastal waters. If it ventured into the Deep Sea, it would be devoured by other Demons or the Sea Race in minutes.

’Then again, it won’t take too long. The White Whale Avatar perfectly inherited the Evil God White Whale’s talent for Infinite growth. All it has to do is eat, eat, and eat.’

After a moment more of savoring the strange sensation, Isaac turned and headed back inland to continue surveying the island’s resources. This was all necessary information for his application for protection from the Noy Clan.

After all, the Noy Clan wouldn’t want Isaac showing up later with a list of bogus claims for compensation.

The Noy Clan had a comprehensive system in place for the protection of islands.

As a result, Isaac was able to complete all the necessary paperwork in just two days.

For the next two years, the Noy Clan would guarantee the island’s safety. Any pirates, Demons, or Sea Race who dared to attack it would face retaliation from the family. As for the safety of the shipping route between the island and East Port...

...that didn’t change much. For one, while the island wasn’t in the same location as the Trial, it still wasn’t far from East Port. For another, the Noy Clan was already responsible for the safety of the sea lanes—especially the coastal waters, which were extremely secure and required no additional payment.

The price for these services was a management fee of five hundred Gold Coins per year, plus a one percent trade tax.

’But for me, I only need to pay the five hundred Gold Coins. As for the trade tax?’

’If I don’t develop the island, there won’t be any trade.’

’And without trade, how can there be a tax?’

Isaac considered it a win.

The Noy Clan, however, didn’t feel they were getting the short end of the stick. Isaac’s island was so close to East Port that it was already within their patrol perimeter. They didn’t even have to alter their routes, which meant they were essentially pocketing five hundred Gold Coins a year for nothing.

As for the trade tax...

It was a joke. What kind of trade could a new island generate besides selling some ore?

And how much ore could a tiny island like that possibly have?

From the very beginning, the Noy Clan’s target wasn’t the island—it was the person.

The person who had *won* the island.

For most people, an island was an immovable asset with finite resources. At first, paying five hundred Gold Coins a year might be easy enough. But over time, once the mineral and timber resources were depleted, that fee would become a considerable burden.

At that point, people would be desperate to know: is there any way to get protection without paying the five hundred Gold Coins?

The answer was simple: join the Noy Clan.

’But none of that has anything to do with me. They wouldn’t take me even if I wanted to join, anyway.’

Isaac stayed on the island for another three days before officially setting off for his territory.

The reason he could depart so quickly was thanks to the White Whale Avatar’s terrifying growth rate. After eating three Tier One Demons and one Tier Two Demon, it had already advanced!

Yes, it was that simple.

Isaac couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy when comparing its growth speed to his own...

Fortunately, there are always trade-offs, as that classic meme goes—so, Gou Dan, what is the price?

The answer: a lack of combat options.

The White Whale Avatar’s devour ability seemed different from that of the Evil God White Whale. It couldn’t devour both Magic Power and Talent Spells like the Evil God did. The avatar could only consume Magic Power and flesh. As for Magic, it currently knew only one move: Deep Sea Iron Cannon, which involved converting seawater in its belly into a projectile and firing it.

Its power was... mediocre. It was directly tied to Magic Power—the more power was put in, the stronger the blast.

What was truly noteworthy was its size. In just three days, it had nearly doubled, reaching a length of over six meters!
