Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

After a long moment, Isaac raised his head and closed the Magic Book, a trace of shock still on his face. ’Leave it to a master to be this extraordinary!’

The project’s goal was rather cliché, following the old routine of creating a perfect creature and God Creation. However, it came with certain limitations: the perfect creature was restricted to a Dragon infinitely close to perfection, the God Creation was limited to a Dragon God, and there would be no attempt to control it!

Yes, what shocked Isaac the most was that last part: no claim to control!

No matter how such projects were combined or limited, control was always the final guarantee. Otherwise, getting killed by your own creation... well, that was just too cliché.

But this plan didn’t demand control; it only sought the ultimate answer.

Very typical scholarly thinking, and...

a very crazy idea!

After all, that was a God!

Then again, it made sense on second thought. After all, there had long been a theory in academic circles that the excessive pursuit of control was the very reason for the repeated failures of such experiments.

The truly interesting part was the content itself. The project wasn’t about resurrecting Tiamat, the Mother of Ten Thousand Dragons. In fact, aside from the name, the two were completely different. Tiamat, Mother of Ten Thousand Dragons, only possessed the [Dragon Mother] Authority, but the creation of Dragons had absolutely nothing to do with her.

It was just like how the Black Orc God was neither a Black Orc nor the creator of Black Orcs.

But the Dragon Mother in this research would truly possess the ability to birth Giant Dragons—and she could give birth to all types of them!

In other words, if this experiment succeeded, what would emerge wouldn’t be just a single Dragon God, but a powerful race!

According to the ideal model in the Magic Book, a complete Dragon Mother would possess the same ability as Tiamat, the Mother of Ten Thousand Dragons—she could increase the fertility of the entire Dragon Race!

The only shame was that this was just an ideal model. There were still major technical hurdles to overcome, the most important and difficult of which was birth!

Yes, birth.

A creature like the Giant Dragon already had a difficult birth due to its immense innate power. The Dragon Mother’s power was even greater, which meant hatching would be that much harder.

What was even more of a shame was that he currently lacked the ability to get involved in such an interesting and insane God Creation study!

This kind of God was nothing like Isaac’s Divine Species; the difference in their power Level was as vast as heaven and earth!

Isaac sighed and put the Magic Book away. ’Still not strong enough...’

’I feel like I’m improving fast enough, so why does this keep happening?’

Isaac shook his head, pushing the thoughts aside. He stood up, left the laboratory, and headed to Lake Town to gather materials.

This experience helped clarify Isaac’s vision for the future. For now, he should focus all his energy on pure knowledge and research. As for self-protection, he could completely give up on teaching himself for the time being!

Take the defensive and movement abilities he so urgently needed, for example. If he were to learn them himself, setting aside the immense time it would take, just finding the right Magic would consume a great deal of his energy.

But if he were to get them from an Outer God, a single ceremony could satisfy both requirements!

The Outer Gods were a treasure trove with so much more left to exploit!

For instance, the ceremony Isaac was preparing to perform—the Feast of the Void Worm.

It could solve his shortcomings in both defense and movement all at once.

Furthermore, this was the first Evil God Ceremony Isaac had modified himself. Its prototype was a form of Witchcraft he had obtained back in the Imperial Capital, one that could grant partial Spatial Operation abilities to an Official Wizard.

The original Witchcraft required one to find a True God willing to grant abilities related to Space, then constantly make offerings and suck up to It. Only when It was pleased would It bestow the ability of Spatial Operation.

Isaac had searched for a while and had even found a few True Gods willing to grant abilities related to Space. Unfortunately, he was no good at sucking up, so not one of them granted him anything.

Actually, it wasn’t that he was bad at it; he just hadn’t done it for long enough. Normally, one would have to make offerings for at least a year to be granted an ability of this Level, and that was considered generous!

Take the God of Flesh from the Flesh Sect, for example. Although simple offerings could earn you abilities, they were just minuscule enhancements—so weak you couldn’t even feel them...

So after figuring this out, Isaac immediately gave up on being a sycophant. The Ais had no tradition of being suck-ups!

But shortcomings had to be addressed, so Isaac had been wondering if he could create an Outer God version of the ceremony. With this, there’d be no need for sucking up; he could take what he wanted openly and honestly.

However, an Outer God Ceremony wasn’t so easy to complete. The protective measures had to be perfect. Otherwise, one careless mistake, and instead of Summoning an Outer God for a transaction, he’d be serving himself up as takeout—the kind delivered right to its mouth!

Isaac had been stuck on a few difficult points, but as luck would have it, the Magic Book from Avin, while not containing any ready-made Outer God Ceremonies, offered profound insights into their underlying theories. Isaac benefited greatly!

On his way back, he had perfected the ceremony, and the success rate was now as high as seventy percent!

So, Avin was truly his guiding light!
