Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

The next day, Isaac decided not to wait any longer. He got up early, left home, and headed straight for the Flesh Sect’s office in the Imperial Capital.

The Flesh Sect’s office was located in the Imperial Capital’s Wizard District, the primary hub for all Wizard Organizations and individual Wizards. The capital’s few Wizard Towers, three in total, also stood there.

The three Mage Towers belonged to the Royal Mage Order, the Truth Association, and Princess Philo, respectively.

Throughout the entire Imperial Capital, these three Mage Towers were the only places where one could legally conduct Magic experiments.

So, while the Imperial Capital was the political center, its academic atmosphere was actually quite lacking. So much so that after Isaac entered the Wizard District, the most common sight was not Wizards, but extravagantly dressed young noblewomen; he could hardly spot any Wizards at all...

This scene further diminished Isaac’s interest in the Imperial Capital. If he wasn’t set on participating in the Divine Lamp Grand Trial to see the world, he would have just registered and headed back home.

With a hint of frustration, Isaac arrived at the Flesh Sect’s office—the third window on the right on the first floor of the Tower of Truth...

Honestly, Isaac was a bit dumbfounded by this scene. It gave him a strange sense of déjà vu, reminding him of his past life...

’How could the most ancient Wizard Organization not look ancient at all?’

’But this is fine, too. At least it’s convenient.’

"Hello, I’d like to join the Flesh Sect." Isaac walked up to the window, sat down, and directly handed his recommendation letter to the young Witch inside, who was reading a Magic Book.

The Truth Association’s training system and academic environment were far superior to other Wizard Organizations. Whether in the variety or depth of its Magic, the Truth Association was among the best.

’But was it that he didn’t want to join?’

Since his sister could get him into a Wizard Organization of the Flesh Sect’s caliber, she could certainly have gotten him into the Truth Association. Unlike the Flesh Sect, the Truth Association accepted any Caster.

"Alright, just channel your Magic Power into it. Your rights and obligations are recorded inside, along with some general knowledge about the Sect and things you need to pay special attention to. You can read it slowly when you get back." With that, the Witch handed the heart to Isaac and went back to burying her head in her studies.

Isaac took the heart and infused it with his Magic Power. The bright red heart instantly transformed into a crimson Magic Book, with the words "Flesh Sect" written in large letters on it.

Opening the Magic Book, Isaac found it wasn’t much different from the one for the Mad Witch Association. It was also something like a social media website from his past life. The first page was a forum, listing rows of posts: people looking for combat teammates, research partners, trying to buy scarce Magic Resources, and even some just there to gossip and chat.

Tapping on a corresponding post would make the Magic Book automatically turn to a new page, displaying the specific content. Swiping down would also turn the page, revealing other posts.

Compared to the strictly hierarchical Mad Witch Association, the Flesh Sect’s forum was not only open to all members but also seemed to be accessible to some subordinate Wizard Organizations, as you could see their affiliation after their IDs.

The second page was Isaac’s own brief information, showing only his name, Level, and points.

From the third page onward were all sorts of benefits that could be redeemed with points, including but not limited to Witchcraft, rare materials, Demons, and even Outer God Ceremonies!

Basically, anything Isaac currently needed, he could get from the Flesh Sect!

Of course, the prerequisite was having enough points—that is, Magic Stones, the currency used for trade by ancient Wizards.

Nowadays, it had been replaced by Gold Coins. This was because Magic Stones themselves are a fairly common type of Magic Material, giving them strong commodity properties. Although their value was stable, their rate of consumption was also very stable.

It often happened that Magic Stones in circulation would just... vanish, having been consumed along the way.

So, Gold Coins gradually replaced Magic Stones. Although Gold is also a Magic Material, it has relatively fewer uses. Furthermore, Gold Coins are not pure gold; using them as a material requires purification first, so it’s better to just use Gold Coins to buy actual gold.

That’s why, at present, only Wizard Organizations like the Flesh Sect still use Magic Stones as internal currency.

As for acquiring Magic Stones...

Isaac found a random place to sit in the first-floor hall of the Tower of Truth, flipped to the back of the book, and started reading.

Within the Flesh Sect, Magic Stones could not be exchanged for Gold Coins. Each month, Sect members received a certain number of Magic Stones based on their Level. An Official Wizard like Isaac could receive ten Magic Stones per month.

In addition, one could also obtain Magic Stones by completing the Sect’s study tasks, research tasks, breeding tasks, Hunting tasks, and exploration tasks.

All in all, for the members of the Flesh Sect, the Magic Stone system was an economic system designed for their development.
