Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

The next day, Isaac stretched comfortably, patting his cheeks to wake himself up. He then quickly sat down at his desk, first transcribing the Forbidden Knowledge he had obtained from the Black Orc God before starting his research on the Magic in the Beast Hide Book.

The Beast Hide Book didn’t record many spells—only four in total. Three were for the Demonization of Black Orcs, and one was for reversing the Demonization of Half-Orcs.

Isaac looked at the first three: Evil Summoning, Evil Energy Infusion, and Evil Energy Shaping.

All three were incredibly simple spells with a very low threshold for use. Thanks to the outstanding corrosive and assimilating properties of demonic Evil Energy, their success rate was also extremely high, enough to even allow for mass production!

Isaac mastered all three after reading through them just twice, but they were useless for solving his problem.

These spells were so simple they were practically devoid of any technical skill, which meant there was no technical weakness he could exploit to counter the Demonization.

The spell to reverse Demonization was called Extracting Evil Energy.

Simply put, the corruption of these Black Orcs by Evil Energy wasn’t yet deep enough. They had only undergone Demonization, not turned into true Demons. In this state, the Demonization could be reversed simply by extracting the Evil Energy from their bodies.

But that was precisely where the problem lay. First, Extracting Evil Energy was a single-target spell. Second, the target had to remain perfectly still throughout the process, or the extraction would be interrupted...

But if he couldn’t use it, Shushu could!

Shushu was a Divine Species, possessing an Immunity to the Erosion of Death Magic Power. Furthermore, the three Necromancy spells obtained from the Black Orc God all came with Divine Art versions, requiring no further research.

The three Necromancy spells he got from the Black Orc God were Skeleton Construction, Skeleton Explosion, and Skeleton Enhancement. It was missing his personal favorite, Summon Skeleton Soldier.

’Whatever, it’s not like I’m the one using them anyway.’

Skeleton Construction involved controlling Death Magic Power and infusing it into bones, allowing them to be reassembled according to one’s will. Their movements then had to be controlled via Death Magic Power.

So even creating the shape of a Skeleton Soldier would be useless; its combat effectiveness would actually be lower.

The best application Isaac could think of was to construct a Skeleton Sword, which could be made to fly through the air with Death Magic Power—a magical version of a Flying Sword!

’So cool!’

’But, with Shushu’s brain, it probably won’t be able to handle it...’

At this thought, Isaac sighed. Despite his best efforts to cultivate Shushu’s intelligence recently, its progress was still worryingly slow, and he didn’t yet know where the problem was.

But he figured that even if it couldn’t use a Flying Sword, this Divine Art would still provide a decent boost to Shushu’s combat power.

Not to mention the synergy with the other two spells. Skeleton Explosion was easy to understand; it detonated the Magic Power within bones, causing an explosion. The shrapnel of bone fragments and the spreading Death Magic Power were both first-rate in terms of power, making it a variation of the classic Necromancy spell, Corpse Burst Technique.

Skeleton Enhancement used Death Magic Power to strengthen bones. It could be used for a temporary increase in durability or for nurturing them over time to slowly increase their base strength.

Of the three Divine Arts, only one could be implemented at the moment. The other two would have to wait until Shushu’s Divinity was a bit stronger.

And that was something that would take time.

There were three ways to enhance a Divinity. The first and most common was to absorb the Power of Faith. With enough Power of Faith, a Divinity could continue to evolve until it became a true God!

However, this was very difficult to achieve. The Faith he guided with Magic was only temporary, good for constructing the Divinity Network at most, but not for Shushu to absorb. And without magical means, with Shushu’s current strength...

To be honest, it would be difficult to get any other creature to have Faith in it.

The second method was to enhance it by devouring other Divinities. This was much simpler. Isaac could continuously create other Divine Spirit Rats for Shushu to devour. Although the improvement each time was small, as long as he was willing to grind it out, there was hope.

Besides, with each modification surgery he performed, Isaac’s understanding deepened. Perhaps it wouldn’t be long before he could simplify the process into a more basic Magic, increasing his efficiency.

If the first two methods were within Isaac’s expectations, the third was completely beyond his comprehension—it could get stronger by absorbing Magic Power!

’In other words, it can practice Cultivation!’

In Isaac’s mind, the stereotype was that Faith-based Gods could only become stronger by absorbing Faith. Once they lost their Faith, they would weaken, and could even fall from their divine thrones!

However, after checking some records, Isaac realized he was mistaken. It turned out this was a common trait for all Gods in this world. Besides the Power of Faith, they could also absorb Magic Power to restore their strength, or even grow stronger.
