Only My Weapons Level UP

"I guess everything has been taken care of," Terry said on the night before the trip. "While I will count on you to manage the guild while I am away, don't hesitate to call me if something happens."

"All right," Rebecca said. "I won't take any chances and make mistakes, so you can relax."

"That puts me at ease. Wait for good news about our next branch," Terry said.

Terry couldn't let anyone notice that he was going to leave for a while, so he was going to leave his room in the darkness of the night. In any case, his confidence was quite refreshing, so Rebecca didn't feel nervous about managing a guild that had hundreds of members in his place.

Although he had planned to sleep for a while, in the end, even Terry wasn't someone completely free of worries and tension, so he stayed awake until three in the morning, and then he left for the airport.

Only those working for the government knew about that, and the soldiers also had been informed about Terry's arrival, so they opened the gate without a fuss when he showed up.

In the distance, Terry saw a single military aircraft ready to depart, so he walked toward it. Terry also found a group of people prepared to enter the vehicle. They were Mary, Oliver, and Louis.

"It seems everyone accepted the offer. I am glad," Louis said. "Aside from a few others who are going to travel with us to transport resources, we are the main team of Chicago. Don't hope too much for me, though. I am a weakling."

Louis waited for some laughter, but after a while, he sighed. No one was there to waste time, and his attitude only worsened the mood.

They entered the vehicle and then sat down and waited for the departure. This time, Terry took a quick nap but soon woke up once the engines began to work. It didn't seem like that aircraft used magic stones as fuel, so it was no surprise that it was so noisy.

Once the trembling stopped, Terry thought of taking another nap. Still, the eyes of the others that were looking at his weapons didn't let him... Greed people sure were troublesome.

"Do you guys want to buy the bow?" Terry asked.

"... Don't joke around," Mary asked.

"Fifty million. I will give you guys a discount right now," Terry said. "This will be my last offer, and it will end in five minutes."

"You must be insane..." Oliver said while frowning.

Terry shrugged. They will change their minds once they see the bow in action... in any case, the area got weirdly quiet since the noise Louis was talking with the pilots. It was about time for the briefing, but he was taking his sweet time... after half an hour, he showed up.

"About the mission... it seems that the opponents this time belong to a pretty smart species," Louis said. "When a link between two worlds appears, we are usually the first ones to move since, most of the time, the enemies on the other side are monsters that can't even speak, but things are different this time. We are focused on defending, and your arrival is supposed to change that."

"What are the enemies, and what can they do?" Mary asked.

"We decided to call them mechanical warriors since they have weapons made of metal that can cover their skin and offer some extra protection," Louise said with a serious expression on his face. "Defeating them usually would mean that we would be able to use their weapons and armor, but those get a lot smaller. We assumed that this metal fed on their mana to grow the way they needed."

That was a weird type of metal if Terry had even heard about one. Still, if they could become a weapon, then his trait could work on them, and then perhaps he will be able to use their full power. A weapon that could become armor as well. That was what Terry truly needed.

"As for their appearance, they are humanoids, but they are a lot tougher than humans. A party of six medium-ranked hunters is the minimum necessary to face one of them, and most of the time, one of them still dies," Louis said. "Aside from their weapons that can become anything they need from several types of weapon to armor, they have a rough gray skin that offers them a lot of resistance as well. They were all muscular and around two and a half meters tall. To the very core, they are a species way more suited to combat than humans."

That sure made things more interesting. Lately, Terry felt bored even while hunting the camps of the enemies by himself. He didn't know if he was getting reckless or if he was just an adrenaline junkie.

Although he wanted to hear more, Terry frowned when Louis ended his explanation there. It looked like seeing them by themselves would be better than any explanation.

After a couple of hours, the aircraft landed at New York airport, and Terry saw some airplanes around. They had been landed a bit earlier, bringing the guild masters from other states as well.

"Should we go to the hotel or the dungeon first?" Louis asked.

"Dungeon," Terry, Mary, and Oliver said in unison. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"I guess it is too early to rest, and you guys have superhuman stamina," Louis shrugged.

Terry wanted to see those creatures as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the other two wanted to use as many chances as possible to get the dungeon under their control.

In any case, Louis asked someone to borrow one of the many jeeps of the army parked there, and then they headed toward the dungeon.
