As the monster’s relentless onslaught continued, Terry found himself growing weary from the ceaseless aerial acrobatics. His attempts to retaliate with Fire Swords were met with a gruesome result – half of the monster’s face was melted away in a blazing inferno. Yet, despite the gruesome injuries, the creature displayed a tenacity that defied reason. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Time and again, the monstrous entity lunged at Terry, slashing with its massive claws and striking with unparalleled ferocity while its face was healing insanely fast. Terry’s swordsmanship and magical prowess were pushed to their limits as he deftly blocked and evaded the savage assaults. The grand throne room was now a battlefield consumed by chaos, its walls crumbling and splintering under the unrelenting force of their combat.
Terry and the monstrous adversary found themselves in a desolate, open field that seemed to stretch endlessly. The air was eerily still, devoid of life and heavy with the unmistakable scent of decay. It was as though they had stepped into a sprawling cemetery, a realm where the echoes of the dead reverberated through the lifeless atmosphere.
The ground beneath them felt uneven, as if countless graves lay hidden beneath the dark earth, each one a solemn reminder of the lives that had once thrived in this desolate place. The sky above hung like a heavy shroud, its darkness seemingly impenetrable, casting an oppressive atmosphere over the field.
The monster charged again when Terry landed, and he had an idea. When the beast approached Terry’s gauntlets intercepted the monster’s savage assault. However, the sheer force of the blow caused his gauntlets to crack and shatter under the pressure. A moment of vulnerability followed as the beast prepared to launch yet another attack.
In a desperate bid to regain the upper hand, Terry thrust his spear towards the creature’s horrifying visage, piercing its head. For a brief, electrifying moment, the monster froze, its dark eyes reflecting an eerie stillness. But this respite was short-lived.
With a renewed burst of malevolent energy, the creature disregarded the grievous wound on its head and resumed its assault. Its razor-sharp claws tore through the air with deadly precision, finding their mark on Terry’s chest. The ferocious strike nearly ripped apart his once-protective armor and inflicted a deep, agonizing gash across his stomach.
"Not even when it is brain was damaged... is it an undead monster?" Terry wondered.
Terry’s landing on the uneven ground was far from graceful. Weakened, disoriented, and blood pouring from his grievous wound, he slipped and skidded for dozens of meters across the cemetery’s bleak, lifeless soil. His vision blurred, and the world spun around him, leaving him vulnerable and disoriented.
As the horrifying beast growled, its sinister intentions were clear. With relentless determination, it charged forward, claws poised to deliver a final, devastating blow. Terry knew that he couldn’t afford to stay down for long.
In that fleeting moment of peril, a spark of inspiration ignited within Terry. He let the monstrous beast close in, luring it into a deadly embrace. With an uncanny swiftness, Terry transformed his weapon into a mighty Warhammer just as the monster’s claws were about to strike. The clash between the Warhammer and the creature’s deadly talons resonated through the desolate landscape, sending shockwaves that reverberated through the very ground they stood upon.
The force of their collision was titanic, causing the earth beneath them to quake and shatter. A massive crater formed around the point of impact, with Terry and the monster standing at its center, locked in a fierce contest of strength and willpower. It was a precarious moment, with both combatants pushing their limits in a battle that seemed destined to reach its climactic conclusion.
As the colossal beast took a few staggering steps back, preparing for another charge, Terry seized the opportunity. With a swift and expert motion, he unleashed his signature technique, the Sonic Slash. In an instant, Terry disappeared from view, leaving only a blur in his wake. His weapon, the Warhammer, became an unstoppable force as it swung through the air with incredible velocity.
The result was cataclysmic. Terry reappeared just as swiftly as he had vanished, the momentum of his strike behind the Warhammer’s impact. The massive beast’s head was smashed into oblivion, an explosion of dark matter and sinew marking the gruesome end of its malevolent existence. The once-ferocious creature crumpled to the ground, its reign of terror finally brought to a decisive close.
Terry felt his shoulders hurting like hell since that was a technique that he should use with a sword, but he didn’t have time to complain since he turned around, he saw the body of the monster falling while the head was regenerating already. In the end, Terry jumped and impaled the heart of the monster with the sword... that made the regeneration end.
As Terry’s sword remained embedded in the heart of the monstrous creature, he could feel a surge of power coursing through the weapon. It was as if the very essence of the enemy he had defeated was being absorbed by the blade. The sword pulsed with newfound strength, its edge gleaming brighter and its aura more vibrant.
It was a testament to his victory, a tangible representation of his growth and prowess in battle. With this newfound strength, he knew he could face even greater challenges and foes on the horizon.
Terry took a moment to catch his breath as he waited for his wounds to heal. His chest and stomach ached from the deep gash inflicted by the monster’s claws, but he knew his enhanced regenerative abilities would mend the injuries in due time.
With cautious steps, he approached the immense body of the fallen monster. The creature, now lifeless, still retained its massive, demonic form. Its dark gray skin, once impenetrable, bore the scorch marks and slashes from their intense battle. The grotesque appearance of the creature made Terry wonder about its origins and purpose.
Terry carefully inspected the monster’s remains, searching for anything of value or significance. He knew that even in death, there might be clues or remnants that could provide insights into the mysterious adversaries he was facing. He scanned the creature’s massive frame, his keen eyes noting any peculiarities or distinguishing features, but he found nothing.
"I really don’t want to use the hide of this thing, so I guess I can only use the bones," Terry thought.
As Terry stood there amidst the stench of death and decay that clung to the fallen monster, he couldn’t help but feel a profound sense of unease. The putrid odor that now enveloped the creature hinted at its true nature—it was an undead abomination.
The realization sent shivers down Terry’s spine. Dealing with the living was one thing, but confronting the undead brought an entirely different level of dread. He understood that these were not merely monstrous creatures from some twisted dimension; they were beings reanimated from the dead, bound to serve their dark masters.
"How could an overlord become an undead and keep its trait active?" Terry wondered.
Terry, despite his reservations, understood the practicality of using the monster’s bones. This particular creature, an undead monstrosity, seemed to defy conventional attacks and defenses. It was as if the creature’s very nature rendered it immune to poison, paralysis, and other negative effects that might have worked against living adversaries.
In the face of such a formidable foe, Terry had to make use of any advantage he could find. The monster’s bones, being unaffected by typical debilitations, presented a unique opportunity. By crafting another part of his armor armor from these otherworldly remains, he could potentially gain an edge in future battles against similarly resistant adversaries.
Terry carefully incorporated some of the monster’s bones into his armor. He chose to include just enough to enhance his gear without making it overly unsettling. As he did so, he immediately began to notice the results. The bones seemed to add an eerie, otherworldly quality to his armor, making it appear more formidable and intimidating.
Beyond their cosmetic effects, the bones brought about subtle changes in the armor’s performance. It became more resilient, capable of withstanding powerful blows and strikes that would have previously posed a greater threat. Terry could sense the unnatural energy coursing through the bones, amplifying his own abilities and granting him a newfound strength and durability.
Mixed Armor - Lv 16 (50/160 EXP) (Magic)
Attack Power: 240
Defense: 480
Debuff Effectiveness: - 80
Durability: 400/800
"Minus eighty? Now that I think about it, it is the first item that has that kind of parameter," Terry thought. "It must be because it is related to the trait of the enemy."
Terry retraced his steps through the dark and eerie castle, eventually reaching the spot where he had originally entered this forsaken world. The portal stood before him, its swirling vortex of unknown energies beckoning him once more. It seemed that Louis had nothing more to say or do at this moment, leaving Terry with a choice.
