The next day, Kiana slowly woke up from her sleep to find both her mommy and daddy beside her. A small smile tugged at her lips as she realized their arms were wrapped around her, forming a protective cocoon, making sure no one could come between them. Slowly, she wriggled out of her father’s large hand, her movements delicate as she shifted toward her mother, nestling into Evelyn’s warmth.

Evelyn woke to the sensation of her little bear trying to cling to her tighter. She chuckled softly, pulling Kiana fully into her arms, and pressed a tender kiss on top of her messy hair.

"Morning, baby," she whispered gently, her voice soft with affection.

"Good morning, Mommy!" Kiana beamed, her sleepy face lighting up instantly.

Evelyn’s heart melted at the sight of her little girl’s radiant smile. She kissed her forehead again, brushing a few strands of hair away from her face.

"Should we wake up Dad?" Kiana asked gingerly, the routine they usually followed every morning creeping into her thoughts. She had tried to convince her mommy to include Daddy in their morning kiss tradition, but Mommy wasn’t too keen on it. Still, Kiana was happy enough that they slept together.

Evelyn glanced at Zevian, who had turned onto his back, still deep in peaceful slumber. She smiled fondly. "Let’s not wake him up just yet, sweetheart," she murmured softly, pulling the blanket over him a little more. "Mommy took Daddy on a long ride last night. He’s really tired."

Kiana’s smile faded as she glared at her sleeping daddy, her round doe-eyes narrowing. "You guys went out without me? Hmph!" she huffed, sitting up and crossing her arms with a pout.

"Daddy was really stressed last night, sweetie," Evelyn explained, gently fixing the mess of Kiana’s hair. "He couldn’t sleep, so I took him out to help him relax. But I promise, we’ll go out together today, just the two of us, after school."

Kiana blinked at her mother, her pout softening. She sighed softly. "Just you and me?" she asked, her tone hopeful as she realized lately her daddy seemed to be taking up most of her mommy’s attention.

"Deal!" Evelyn confirmed with a smile.

Kiana grinned widely and melted back into her mother’s embrace, satisfied with their new plan. They lay together for a few more peaceful moments before it was time to get up and ready for the day.

After their cozy morning, Evelyn helped Kiana get ready for school. As always, she made sure to pick out her daughter’s favorite clothes, braiding her hair with ribbons that matched her dress. She even prepared Kiana’s favorite breakfast—pancakes with strawberries and cream. "Good morning," He greeted, recalling the playful time they’d spent the night before. Instead of a motorcycle ride, she surprised him by taking out one of his sports cars, reviving memories of his golden days.

Ever since middle school, Zevian had dreamed of becoming a professional racer. It had been his passion, but his family’s restrictions had stifled that dream, relegating it to a mere hobby. He had given it up entirely after Katherine, burying that part of himself in the past. But last night, Evelyn had brought it back, reigniting a spark of hope in him that maybe one day he could indulge in it again.

"Need some help?" Evelyn asked with a playful smile as she saw him fumbling with his tie.

Zevian nodded, handing her the red tie, his eyes watching her with warmth. She stepped closer, taking it from him, though she had no idea how to tie it properly. She began working on it anyway, her brows furrowing in concentration.

"Kiana was upset we went out without her again," Evelyn said, focusing on the tie as she tried to recall how to fold it. "I promised her I’d take her out this evening."

Zevian nodded, adjusting his collar to give her more room to work. "I’ll prepare my team," he replied, his tone turning serious. Ever since Sabrina’s move, they’d been under the media’s radar. Reporters were desperate for any glimpse of them, especially Kiana. He couldn’t risk putting his wife and daughter in harm’s way.

"Slept well?" Evelyn asked, trying to distract him from her increasingly messy attempt at the tie.

Zevian chuckled, a smile lighting up his face as he watched her struggle. "Slept better than I have in a while," he admitted, his eyes glinting with amusement as she fumbled with the fabric.

"Are you planning to choke me?" he teased, causing Evelyn to glare at him before focusing back on the tie.

"Take a guess," Zevian replied, and before she could react, he wrapped the tie around her waist, pulling her closer until she was pressed against his chest.

"But I was planning to take Kiana out today," Evelyn said with a pout, disappointment coloring her voice.

Zevian leaned down, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "There’s a resort we own near the location she sent. Once you’re done, we’ll pick you up and spend time there together."
