"Don’t be late," Avery said, winking at Zevian before walking out of the house. Zevian frowned at the weirdo before heading upstairs to Evelyn’s room.

Since the door was open, he knocked lightly and barged in without asking for permission. "Are you ready—"

His eyes widened and so did his mouth as he tried to process the scene before him. She felt her entire body burn with a mixture of embarrassment and unexpected thrill, her stupid heart hammering against her chest. Quickly, she reached for the white pleated sarong cover-up, and hastily tied it around her waist, shielding herself from his smoldering gaze.

"Give me a minute," she managed to say, her voice a mix of urgency and shyness.

Zevian nodded, unable to tear his eyes away until the last second, and quickly exited the room. As the door closed behind him, he placed a hand on his hip, running the other through his hair, biting his lower lip to calm himself. His throat ran dry as his mind reeled from the sight of her, every detail vivid and intoxicating.

’This day is going to be a disaster,’ he thought, heaving a sigh and walking downstairs.

Minutes later, Evelyn came downstairs, her heart still racing from the earlier encounter. She slid into the back seat of the car, with Kiana happily settling on her lap. Avery, in the front passenger seat, shot Evelyn a knowing smile, clearly relishing her flustered state.
