Avery’s eyes widened in shock, and Evelyn mirrored her surprise, not expecting the cute little girl to rebel. They exchanged glances before Avery broke into laughter, finding Elaine’s red nose reminiscent of a clown.

"You! How dare you?!" Elaine fumed, wiping her face clean. She raised her hand to hit Kiana, but suddenly a hulk stood between them. John’s large hand gripped her tiny wrist tightly. He had rushed at the commotion and roughly pushed Elaine, causing her stumble back.

"I’m going to sue you, Evelyn! Just you wait and see," Elaine roared, peeking around John’s imposing frame.

"Well, technically speaking, you should be suing Kiana," Avery commented, crossing her arms. Pointing at the CCTV, she continued, "She was the one who hurt you, so go ahead and try suing Zevian’s precious daughter."

Elaine’s friends stood behind her, their mouths agape in shock. Kiana Reign was always hidden from the public eye, so many hadn’t seen her before. Now that they had, they couldn’t help but recall Katherine, Zevian’s late wife, who had the same blue eyes as Kiana.

Elaine gritted her teeth and, glaring at Evelyn, turned around to leave. Even though her father owned a law firm, he wasn’t powerful enough to sue the Reign family’s princess; no one in this city had such guts.

"Let’s go," Avery said, noting the crowd inside the shop witnessing the scene. Evelyn nodded, and John quickly escorted them to their Maybach.

Silence filled the car as John drove toward their house. Evelyn tried to think of how to make Kiana realize that she was wrong. Glancing at the little girl beside her, she started, "Even though your intention was right, you can’t just throw things at someone, Kiana."

"But she was calling you evil!" Kiana grumbled like any pampered four-year-old would, her pout making Evelyn smile.

"I know hearing bad words makes you angry, but you can’t hurt someone like that," Evelyn said, her tone gentle but firm. When Avery, in the shotgun seat, turned around and nodded, she asked, "Doesn’t that make you a bully as well?"

Kiana huffed, crossing her arms. Though she knew Evelyn was right, she still couldn’t accept it. Evelyn patted her head and continued, "I am not saying that you should endure it. If they are fighting with words, use words."

"Really?" Kiana asked, marveling at learning something new. Evelyn nodded, patting the little girl’s head.

"Yes. And if someone tries to hurt you—let’s say pushes you or hits you—then you have every right to defend yourself. Since they attacked you first, it doesn’t make you a bully." Evelyn made sure to add, making Avery smile.

With a small smile, Evelyn continued, "So imagine Avery calls you evil, what will you do?" She looked at Avery, who nodded and played along. The trio started practicing, with Avery trying to instigate the little girl, and after a few times, Kiana managed to handle it.

John couldn’t help but admire the scene, and he appreciated his boss for choosing the right woman to be their little devil’s mother.

The next few days flew by with everyone engrossed in their work. While Zevian was often secluded in his office or study, Evelyn and Avery were occupied with their company’s future projects, paying little attention to the online accusations.

Agatha couldn’t help but admire how Evelyn always made time for Kiana every single day, from sending her to school and preparing meals to listening to the little girl’s school stories every night. They had grown very close, something even Zevian had noticed and appreciated greatly.

"Yes, prepone the meetings today. And also check all the arrangements for tomorrow’s party once again," Zevian ordered Brandon over the phone while running on his treadmill. After finishing a few more rounds of workouts, he decided to get ready for the office.

While in the dining hall, Evelyn, who had just woken up after spending the entire night working on her interior designs, stretched her arms and neck. Avery had given her the day off and left early for a field visit, giving her the whole day to spend with Kiana, who was still asleep.

A smile tugged at her lips as she planned their sweet Saturday in her head. She filled a glass of water and took a few sips. But when her eyes landed on her husband, half-naked and wearing only trousers, she choked on her water.

Patting her head, Evelyn quickly turned around, aware that Zevian had caught her. Before she could escape, he appeared right beside her, giving her exactly what her naughty mind wanted—a full and closer view of his body.

"Good morning," Zevian greeted, a playful smile on his lips.

Evelyn tried to compose herself, but her cheeks betrayed her with a deep blush. "Good morning," she replied, her voice a bit shaky.

"No office today?" Zevian asked, placing the hoodie in his hand on the table and filling a glass of water. He started drinking it, his movements deliberately slow, and Evelyn couldn’t help but watch. This man did justice to the word "thirst trap"!

Evelyn’s mouth went dry and she gulped, her eyes glued to his body. She admired the way his broad chest expanded with each breath, muscles defined and strong. Her gaze wandered down, tracing the contours of his sculpted abs, counting each one in her mind.

Evelyn subconsciously hummed in response, her eyes lingering just above his waistband. The line of his trousers was teasingly low, her mind screamed to wander even lower, curiosity and desire taking over her sanity.

Zevian chuckled, his voice bringing Evelyn out of her trance. Her cheeks flushed, and she tore her eyes away, feeling the heat of embarrassment coursing through each of her veins. Though Zevian and Evelyn rarely had the time to sit and chat in the past few days, they still exchanged little teases now and then, with Zevian mainly pulling his wife’s leg. Now, it seemed like he was taking it to another level. Flirting using his freaking hot body!

Evelyn glared at him, trying to maintain her composure. "I know it’s summer, but can you just not roam around the house shirtless?" she retorted.

She had seen him like this a couple of times, mainly after finishing his exercise, and he needed to stop it, now that a grown woman was living in his house!

Zevian smiled at her cute puffed face. Placing down the glass, he suddenly came in front of her, causing her to gasp and hit the table behind her.

Her hands clutched the edges tightly, her heart racing like a wild horse. Now that they were almost eye to eye, she couldn’t help but by his intoxicating scent, the smell of fresh coffee beans with a tinge of sandalwood. It seemed like he was still using the same body wash.

"Why?" Zevian asked, his voice low yet quite deep.

"Are you afraid of falling for me again?" He teased, stepping even closer and placing his hand over hers on the dining table. "Or wary of someone else liking it as much as you did?" he added, referring to the hidden maids who were sneakily watching them, whom even Evelyn had noticed earlier when he appeared shirtless.

"Both!" Evelyn blurted out, his touch extracting the truth from her. When Zevian’s smirk widened, she instantly regretted it, her entire body burning hot while her knees grew weak at his light caresses on the back of her hand.

"Then let me make it easy for you," Zevian murmured, his voice a seductive whisper.

Their eyes met, the surprise in Evelyn’s brown orbs reflecting the darkness in Zevian’s gaze. As he leaned closer, she shut her eyes, her heart pounding louder, breath hitching in anticipation to feel his lips. To kiss him again!
