"Stop the plane!" Evelyn urged again, and John rushed to follow her order. Luckily, the pilots were still preparing to take off and stopped at John’s request.

"I know I might be wrong too, but let’s stay until they bring her out of it. Please..." Evelyn requested, her heart aching badly. The building, the cell Gracia was locked in, screamed of danger, and she would only be at ease when they brought her out of that hell.

Zevian sighed out loud and nodded in response. Kiana beamed in excitement, clapping her hands happily. "Yay! We gonna see Grandma first!" she murmured, her voice filling the jet with hope.

Rita took out her phone and dialed Damien to inform him of Evelyn’s suspicion. She too hoped for it to be true, as everything would work out great. No one would be able to stop Sophia from paying back, and eventually, Evelyn would finally be able to live the happy life she deserved.

John escorted the trio out, with Rita quickly following behind. It took a few minutes for Damien’s men to rush back, dressed in all black. They were already on their way back, but Rita called them to return, confusing everyone.

"Take us back to the mansion. We will be staying until Gracia is out of the asylum," Rita informed them in Spanish, ensuring they prepared themselves to be around for a few more days. The head nodded and quickly took them out of the airport.

Damien and Ronan rose from their seats as Evelyn entered with Zevian. As much as they couldn’t come to terms with Evelyn’s delusions, somewhere, it felt like they might be true. Ronan noticed how Evelyn’s eyes burned with new hope, and he just hoped it wouldn’t get shattered again like this morning.

"Let’s go and talk in our study," Damien suggested, eyeing Rita to take care of the little girl.

"But I want to be a part of it too!" Kiana grumbled with a pout.

"You are too young for it, Kia," Damien replied sternly. "Grow up first, and we’ll think about it later," he added, making Kiana scowl deeper as she knew he was bluffing just like any other adult.

"Let’s go." Damien turned to the couple, and they followed him to the study, along with Ronan.

Evelyn noticed how they had a board and a presentation screen on, indicating they were planning tomorrow’s mission. Considering how tight the security was around and inside the building, she was sure it would require all their mafia brains to get Gracia out safely.

"Convince us," Damien interrupted her thoughts. When she looked at him, he added seriously, "If we think it’s just your emotions playing tricks, you’ll have to leave tonight at all costs. It’ll get too dangerous here once we start our mission."

Ronan agreed with him. The underworld ran here more transparently than in their countries, making it easy to locate them if anyone realized they had attacked the asylum. Though they had top security and men on alert to always protect this family, they couldn’t afford such risks after coming this close to victory.

Evelyn closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "You might not understand it even if I try to explain it to you," she started, hesitation clear in her voice. "But I could never be wrong in guessing her voice. The way she addressed me as Bunny, it was exactly how she used to call me back in the years. It seemed like, for a moment, she slipped out of her façade, showing her true self."

"Yes, I think so too," Rita joined them. Closing the door, she walked to them and added, "For a fractional second, Gracia’s voice changed when she heard us. But, as if afraid we might be someone from her captors, she put on the madness mask again."

Damien went deep in thought. Even if Evelyn might be mistaken, Rita never would be. She was trained to think rationally even in the most emotional situations. It quite answered why, even though much of Gracia’s reports were normal, her condition was worse than anybody else’s.

"Our doctor team assessed her and reported that she might have been tortured to the point where her brain stopped thinking normally. Even her captors must’ve heard the same, so they didn’t suspect her reports much," Ronan murmured, Damien and Zevian nodding in agreement.

"I’m speaking right now as her daughter, Damien. I feel it strongly inside," Evelyn expressed, making everyone sigh.

"Alright. Stay until tomorrow," he agreed, bringing a smile to her face. "But if you’re wrong, you’ll fly back immediately," he warned, and Evelyn agreed to it.

"You guys can go and rest. We’ll talk tomorrow," Damien added, looking at his friend.

Zevian nodded, leaving the matter up to them. Evelyn needed him the most right now, and they were enough to plan things perfectly. "Let’s go." Wrapping his arm around Evelyn, he escorted her out while Rita stayed behind to help her boss and his new best friend.

The night passed in a blur of anxious energy. Evelyn barely slept, her mind racing with thoughts of Gracia. When morning finally arrived, the mansion buzzed with activity. Damien and his team were preparing for the mission, reviewing maps, discussing tactics, and ensuring everyone knew their roles. She watched from a distance, her heart pounding with a mix of hope and dread.

"All right, everyone, it’s time," Damien declared, his voice firm. "Move out."

The team, clad in dark tactical gear, filed out of the mansion, moving with practiced precision. They piled into black SUVs, engines purring softly as they sped toward the asylum.

Arriving at the asylum, the cars parked a safe distance away. Damien gave the signal, and the team dispersed, each person slipping into the shadows, moving swiftly and quietly. The asylum loomed ahead, a hulking, decrepit building that seemed to suck the light out of the morning.

"Remember, no patient should be hurt," Damien whispered into his earpiece.

Everyone nodded as they breached the perimeter, cutting through a rusted fence and slipping inside. Ronan and Damien took the lead, their footsteps silent on the worn-out floors. The air was thick with the strong smell of decay and dampness, the walls leaking in some spots.

Damien raised his hand, stopping the five behind him as they encountered the first guard. The guard had his back turned to them, and before he could react, Damien hit him hard, quickly and efficiently neutralizing him.

Reaching the main control room, they encountered a group of guards. The guards tried to resist, but Damien’s team was too well-trained. A quick, brutal skirmish ensued, leaving the guards disarmed and restrained.

The team spread out, taking control of key areas of the asylum. They locked down the entrances and exits, ensuring no one could escape or call for help. The guards were disarmed and restrained, their radios confiscated to prevent them from alerting anyone outside.

Phones were confiscated, and signal jammers were placed strategically to prevent any communication with the outside world. The staff screamed in panic, their fear palpable as they were forced to kneel, hands on their heads.

"Control rooms two and three secure," Damien heard his men report.

"Everything’s clear, boss. You can move to the final phase."

"Let’s get her out," Damien said to Ronan, who quickly reloaded his gun.

They looked for the main jailer, a burly man trembling in a corner among his staff.

Ronan moved over and forced him to stand up, his gun pressed to the man’s temple. "Take us to patient Livana’s cell now," he demanded, his voice echoing through the hall.

The jailer hesitated for a moment, but a sharp nudge from Ronan’s weapon made him comply. He quickly guided them to the room, his hands shaking in horror. When they reached the door, he gulped, turning to give the news, but the two devils’ glares made him cry internally.

"Open the cell," Damien demanded, pointing his gun at the jailer.

The jailer nodded, fumbling with the keys as he unlocked the iron gate. Damien and Ronan pushed the gate open, forcing him to unlock the inner door too.

The trio entered the cell but much to their horror, it was empty.

"Where is she?" Damien muttered, stepping inside, his eyes scanning every corner.

Ronan’s jaw tightened, his eyes narrowing. "She was here. She *has* to be!"

The jailer quivered, trembling under their hold. "You’re too late," he sneered. "She’s gone."

Damien grabbed the jailer by the collar, lifting him off the ground. "Where did they take her?" he growled.

"I don’t know! Please leave me!" the jailer cried out loud.

With a groan of frustration, Damien threw the jailer against the wall. "Gracia’s missing!" he barked into his earpiece, his voice filled with urgency. "Spread out across the entire city! Search every inch and find her quickly."

"They might kill her before you even reach," the jailer added, making them even more anxious.
