Benjamin’s face twisted into a scowl at Zevian’s appearance. He turned to Evelyn and asked in Italian, "Who is he?"

"My husband," Evelyn replied with a smile.

She glanced at Zevian and placed her free hand on his fist, signaling him to calm down. Zevian looked at her, and as their eyes met, his expression softened, a sigh escaping his lips. Everyone in the room, including Benjamin on the phone, observed their interaction keenly. He had heard that she married out of convenience, but it didn’t seem that way at all. The way Zevian calmed down at just her glance made Benjamin quite certain this man loved Grace, and his grandson stood no chance.

"Whatever," Benjamin drawled, getting everyone’s attention back. "You’re coming with him tomorrow. I want the mansion ready for my wife’s birthday, we want to spend it there," he added, using his lovely wife, who held a soft spot in Evelyn’s heart.

Evelyn pursed her lips at his demand. Igor’s old mansion was huge, almost like a palace, and it would take a couple of weeks to renovate it completely. She wasn’t ready to stay away from Zevian that long, or even Kiana. "I’ll see what I can do, sir," she replied with a small smile.

Benjamin nodded and replied with a smile, "We’ll be waiting for you, Gracie darling." Glancing at Zevian one last time, the old man ended the video chat.

Evelyn passed the phone back to Ronan, who accepted it with a smile, confident and almost celebrating his victory over Zevian. It would probably be his last visit, and he intended to enjoy it to his heart’s content. After all, this dumbass had made Evelyn wait five years, only to win her back just when Ronan decided to ask her out. Zevian deserved every bit of the torment of rejection he had gone through.

"The flight’s at 7 PM. I’ll see you at the airport," Ronan said to Evelyn, making Zevian clench his fists again. Smiling at Zevian, Ronan got up and left the room.

Evelyn turned to Zevian, placing a hand on his arm as she tried to calm him. "I’ll be back soon. Wait for me in my office," she said, then hurriedly followed Ronan, trying to convince him that if he pleaded, his grandfather might change his mind.

Avery cleared her throat, now left alone with Zevian, who was practically fuming. No one could calm him down except Evelyn, and if anyone else tried, they wouldn’t walk away unscathed. Bella tried to escape, but Avery held onto her tightly, unwilling to handle the burden alone. Didn’t Bella promise to stick with her through thick and thin after last night’s celebration? She needed to keep her word!

"Erm, let me take you to her cabin," Avery spoke up, instantly regretting it as Zevian glared at her. Pushing Bella forward, she added, "Bell will take you," before bolting out of the room. It was time for Bella to keep her promise!

Bella was left speechless at her boss’s betrayal. She looked at the door, then back at Zevian, who seemed ready to devour anyone with just a look. Oh, how much she hated her boss right now!

Evelyn finished talking with Ronan, and after sending him off, she walked back to her office. Zevian was standing by the window, his gaze fixed on the car that had just left. Sensing someone enter, he turned around, but his expression didn’t brighten up like it usually did when he saw her.

Evelyn walked closer and began, "I tried to convince him, but—"

Before she could finish, Zevian cut her off with a fervent kiss. His arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer, causing Evelyn’s heart to skip a beat. The kiss came as a surprise, but what shocked her more was that it wasn’t sweet or passionate like their usual kisses.

Zevian kissed her ravenously, sucking and nibbling on her lower lip, sending shivers down her spine. He cupped her cheek, tilting her head slightly as he deepened the kiss. A fire ignited within Evelyn at the way he took command, claiming her as his—only his! Before she knew it, Evelyn was kissing him back with the same intensity, assuring him that she belonged to him, just as he belonged to her—only her!

When they both became breathless, Zevian finally broke the kiss. He rested his forehead against hers, both panting and trying to catch their breath. Evelyn held onto his hand that cupped her cheek, her heart still racing from the intense moment.

"Don’t let him touch you again," Zevian growled, his grip on her waist tightening.

A frown tugged at Evelyn’s lips in confusion. She pulled back slightly to look at him, only to be met by his dark, irritated eyes. Slowly, she recalled where he had been standing earlier and realized he must have seen her saying goodbye to Ronan, making him all jealous and cute.

Biting back a laugh, she smiled and said, "It was just a friendly hug. Even Avy gave him one."

Zevian’s expression darkened again, his fingers digging into her shirt. Evelyn’s breath hitched as she felt them graze her waist, and she decided to surrender—for now.

"Alright, I won’t. I’ll keep one arm’s distance from him from now on," she joked with a cheeky smile.

Zevian gladly agreed with a nod, liking the idea, which made Evelyn chuckle out loud. Cupping his cheeks, she teased, "You look so cute when you’re jealous, dear hubby." Tiptoeing, she captured his lips again, taking him by surprise.

When he didn’t respond, Evelyn looked up at him, demanding he kiss her back. But Zevian gently pushed her away, making her pout and glare at him.

"Let’s stop here for today, Mrs. Reign. I won’t be able to control myself," Zevian confessed with a smile, his eyes filled with something darker, a raw emotion.

Evelyn clutched his shirt and pulled him closer, taking him by surprise again. "Then don’t control yourself, Mr. Reign," she boldly declared, her smirk bolder than her words.

"Are you sure, Mrs. Reign?" Zevian asked with a smirk. Leaning closer, he whispered in her ear, "Because your office doesn’t look soundproof, and I don’t want anyone but me to hear you scream my name."

Evelyn’s smirk vanished, her cheeks blushing beet-red at his words. Zevian pulled back and laughed, enjoying her expression. When she glared at him, he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smirked. "But I promise I won’t let you escape tonight," he added.

Goddammit! Evelyn already felt herself losing to his shameless seduction.
