"Let go of me, Yael!" Lily screamed, tears trickling down her face. The boy was strong and angry, and her body started trembling, her hands shaking as he grabbed them tightly.

"Huhuhu, you are bullying me!" Lily started crying out loud, while her minions quivered back when Yael’s intense gaze landed on them. One of the girls finally gathered enough courage to step forward and forced Lily to let go of the bin.

"Huhuhu, I will complain to the headmistress!" Lily cried out loud, letting go of the bin. She massaged her wrists where Yael had held them so tightly that they were stinging. The other two girls tried to calm her down before hurriedly escorting her out of the bathroom.

Yael let out a frustrated sigh and threw the bin aside, his actions making Kiana tremble slightly. Turning around, he ran a hand through his hair and scolded, "When will you ever get a spine? Why the hell do you tolerate them?!"

Kiana looked up at him, the earlier knightly version of him now replaced by a big, bad bully. Tears slowly rolled out of her eyes, and she started sobbing, before wailing out loud, louder than the ugly Lily earlier.

Yael’s blazing blue eyes softened at the sight of her sobs. Sighing out loud, he slowly helped her get up. "Stop crying!" he grumbled, but Kiana only cried more. When the annoying girl didn’t stop, he raised one of his hands and murmured, "Here!"

Kiana grabbed onto his arm and pressed her face against it, letting his hoodie cover her embarrassing wails. She had been trying to hold it in for days, but it was all bursting out today. When his hand started soaking with her tears, she sniffled and slowly let go of it. The little girl looked at his other hand hopefully, causing Yael to sigh softly and raise it for her.

Kiana grabbed onto his other arm and started crying again, using it to cover herself from the embarrassment. Yael looked at her with a frown but didn’t take away his hand, letting her vent as much as she wanted, though he wondered if she’d ever stop.

When Kiana didn’t seem like she would stop anytime soon, Yael complained, "Stop crying! It makes you look even more ugly."

Kiana stopped crying and looked up at him, her hands still clutching him tightly. A scowl formed on her face before she shoved his hand away, cursing him in her head. He could never be nice to her!

Yael looked around and, spotting a tissue roll, walked over and pulled out a few sheets. Returning to her, he passed them to her, "Wash your face. You look like a snot monster."

Kiana snatched the tissues and stuck her tongue out at him, sniffling to look less ugly. Yael gave her one final glance before walking out of the restroom.

Kiana stared at his retreating back, a pout forming on her face. Avery had taught her some new words, and one of them suited Yael perfectly. Huffing out loud, the little bear muttered under her breath, "Jerk!"

Once she finished washing her face and adjusting her hair, Kiana walked out of the restroom. Her eyes widened to find Yael leaning against the corridor wall, and it made her wonder if he was actually waiting for her.

"The lunch break will be over soon," Yael complained, glancing at his watch as she walked over to him.

"Let’s skip the next class," Kiana suggested, finding his concern about class attendance unreasonable. All he did was sleep like a hound after lunch, so it didn’t matter if they were in class or hiding somewhere else until it ended. "Go, get my lunch box!" she ordered, not ready to face that ugly Lily again.

Yael’s eyes twinkled in amusement, a rare smile lifting his face. "Alright," he replied, reaching over to gently tuck her bangs behind her ear.

Kiana’s heart skipped a beat, her cheeks flushing red as she quickly lowered her gaze. As Yael left, she slowly looked up, sneaking glances at him, the warrior halo ring appearing over his head again. Her little heart started to race, something warm and giddy filling her stomach, and she cursed under her breath, "Damn it!"

Watching too many fairy tales was definitely bad for her health, Kiana realized, covering her face and groaning out loud. She needed to stop it!

By the time Yael returned, Kiana had luckily come out of her embarrassment and was back to her usual self. Snatching her box, she glared at him, who frowned at her expression. At least she was back to her normal weird self, he thought, relieved not to see her sad anymore.

Yael could somehow manage to get extra keys for whichever room he wanted in the entire school, and Kiana wished to eat on the terrace. Yael nodded and went to work his usual tricks. Kiana waited patiently, and after a few minutes, Yael returned, playing with the key around his finger.

"Let’s go!" he grinned, and Kiana gingerly nodded, sneaking out with him. Skipping classes always felt good, especially if there was someone else to share the punishment with.

After reaching the empty terrace, Yael pulled a small bench over, and they sat down. Kiana crossed her legs over the bench and opened her lunch box, her stomach growling in anticipation. Yael usually ate whatever the school provided at lunch, and seeing that he’d missed it because of her, Kiana decided to share her meal with him.

"My Mommy is a really good chef!" Kiana started with a smile, taking out an extra fork and passing it to him.

Yael hesitated for a moment, then turned and took it. Kiana beamed proudly and, removing the lid of her three-set lunch box, handed him the top portion. "You’ll love it!" she assured him, before digging into her own meal. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Yael inspected the rectangular box, noting the heart shape made of veggies over plain rice in the center. So this was how mothers took care of their children. He thought, slowly savoring a bite. His eyes widened in surprise at how good it was.

"See! I told ya!" Kiana giggled at his expression, happily enjoying her lunch.

Yael was a picky eater, but he finished the entire box without complaints. When Kiana passed him a cupcake for dessert, he took it happily. Having lost his mother at birth, he had only watched other kids being pampered.

"I’ll tell Mommy you liked it. She will pack for you, too," Kiana said, biting into her favorite cupcake.

Yael didn’t reject the idea; in fact, he craved to enjoy such a lunch every day. For the first time, he wished for a Mommy like Kiana’s—someone who would pack his lunch and care for him.

"You should stand up for yourself," Yael suddenly began seriously. When Kiana looked at him, he added, "They will keep picking on you."

"Hmph! They’re all bad jerks!" Kiana huffed, recalling how Lily had pushed her. "I don’t get why they always bully me!"

"Because you’re an easy target," Yael replied, making Kiana scowl. "Why do you think they always bully you and not me?" he asked, turning to her.

Kiana blinked in confusion. Yes, they both didn’t have mothers when they joined the school. But everyone kept teasing her about it. And now, when she finally had the best Mommy, they picked on her even more.

"Don’t be weak in front of them. Defend yourself, and they’ll get off your case," Yael advised, having done the same. When Kiana’s mood dropped, he added, "And besides, they’re just jealous you have a better Mommy than they do."

Kiana’s eyes widened, a smile lifting her face. "Really?"

Yael nodded in confirmation. "Their mothers don’t care much, leaving them with nannies all the time. But your Mommy..." The boy trailed off, feeling a pang of jealousy. He hadn’t cared before, but now he wished for someone as cool as Evelyn to be his mother, too.

"She’s super awesome!" Kiana finished his sentence. Seeing his little pout, she moved closer and patted his head. "And don’t worry, you’ll get someone like her soon."

"But my Dad doesn’t want to marry anyone," Yael replied, heaving a small sigh.

"Then it’s your responsibility to change his mind," Kiana replied with a serious face. When Yael looked at her in confusion, she added, "Do you think my stupid Daddy chased after Mommy?"

Yael nodded, assuming Zevian had brought Kiana her mother.

Kiana shook her head, sighing softly. Placing a hand on her chest, she proudly declared, "It was me who chose Mommy. If not for me, they’d never have ended up together." Smiling, she added, "So, you should choose your Mommy first and then make them fall in love."

"How?" Yael asked, curious.

Kiana’s eyes gleamed with mischief. Eating her last bite of cupcake, the little cupid replied, "I’ll help you, don’t worry. I know someone who will surely help us succeed."
