Kylie didn’t need to respond as a mechanical voice echoed directly into his ears.

[Yes Master, I am an AI assist of sorts...]

The awe in Seth’s gaze deepened. The protective film over his face dimmed down, allowing his eyes to meet Kylie’s.

’Damn, this girl is too good.’

Seth had given her a highly advanced device, one far above humanity’s current capacity. Most would find it too much of a challenge to perform the primal gene patterns alone.

But Kylie? Not only did she completely master the device in hours, she imprinted primal gene patterns and went a step further to create an extremely complicated arc reactor of sorts.

While adding autonomous support on top — what words could describe such a person if not monster?

Kylie’s eyes lit up as she began to explain. "I figured it was a function you might need. The autonomous support can give real-time analysis, activate hidden protocols by itself on permission."

Pausing, she tucked a few vermilion strands behind her ears and continued,

"During combat, multitasking shouldn’t be a problem for someone of your caliber, but it will cost time regardless — split-second decisions that might cause lags in your efficiency."

Seth’s eyes widened. He hadn’t even thought that far!

Kylie didn’t need to finish her train of thought for Seth’s mind to wire the dots.

He grabbed her by the shoulders, excitement in his eyes. "God, you are a genius."

Kylie’s heart felt stoked. Subconsciously, she felt pleased and satisfied. For the first time in her life, she felt something when someone praised her.

Her heart skipped a beat. She stared into Seth’s eyes, his face inches from hers, her heart racing.

"Can someone explain to me what it is I’m seeing?" Elder Ron finally awakened from his stupor, walking forward, his eyes glistening with amazement as he scanned Seth up and down.

This... this was the greatest creation he had ever seen.

This armor, whatever it was, was definitely a thousand times more advanced than anything humanity could fathom now.

His discerning gaze washed across the exoskeletal surface as he noted facts that brought more turmoil to his heart.

There was zero wiring work. In fact, the only hardware of this construct was the metal shelling — the rest was pure energy.

Heck, even the pulsing reactor embedded into the center chest region was a highly condensed form of energy encased in a thin film of what he deduced to be an absurdly durable glass substance.

Elder Ron’s eyes glowed. He knew his granddaughter was a monster, but this?

This was far beyond what he imagined — to craft a processing unit and a highly intricate operating system on nothing but pure energy.

This... he couldn’t even begin to fathom the process.

Subconsciously, his eyes trailed to the side, staring at the massive 3D device — the only construct in the entire workshop that remained whole after the baptism of lightning.

Instinctively, he knew this machine had a hand in the creation of this masterpiece.

"It’s a genetic battle suit," Kylie responded to her grandfather.

Unfortunately, before the elder could ask for more details, the rhythmic sounds of footsteps rang out.

Voices echoed from the exit...

"Quick, quick, take them all to the ER Unit, we can’t lose a single soul!"

Everyone glanced at each other, mutually understanding that the military had arrived.

Seth sighed. He never imagined that his personal quest would cause such a crazy commotion, in all honesty.

And during the forging process, he could feel the cataclysmic force he was outputting. After all, with the help of the RiftTide alloy, he wasn’t doing much constraint.

But he had made sure to spread the force so evenly that he was certain there shouldn’t have been casualties due to him.

And besides, he couldn’t stop once he had already begun. He had to see things through.

Then came the world tempering, as the system called it. He never imagined their creation would draw in such disaster.

Sounds of steady footsteps marched their way, silhouettes of figures casting over the large doorway.

And walking into the room were indeed soldiers, donning their operational camouflage-pattern combat wear, with spice-brown name tapes.

Red laser lights of aim settled on everyone in the room, as the squad of soldiers silently made way for a superior.

A middle-aged man, estimated age range late thirties to early forties, walked forward.

Grey pupils distilled a cold light of discipline and calculating ambience, a stern face that gave zero room for emotion.

His hair was tucked finely beneath a spice-brown hat, his figure robust and intimidating.

He walked steadily before the squad, hands clasped behind his back, his posture boldly erect.

Subconsciously, Elder Ron tensed, but he dared not move or make a sound, as he felt the burn of laser lights pointing at his temples.

If he made any move interpreted as a threat, these guys wouldn’t hesitate to blow his brains out.

He could only find solace in the fact that hopefully Seth wouldn’t stand by and let that happen.

But that didn’t stop his palms from getting sweaty, his heart hammering against his ribcage.

His granddaughter, though, remained fine. With Seth’s figure obscuring her silhouette, all laser dots were trained on him, as she peeked over his shoulders.

Even Brandon remained silent, his gaze narrowing as he observed the soldiers with a frown.

Scanning the room coldly, the man noted the massive, extremely advanced piece of tech on the side which bore resemblance to a 3D printer. Then his gaze flashed as his focus settled on the armor encasing Seth.

His eyes flashed as his gaze rose to meet Seth’s. His lips moved as his voice boomed with a thick southern drawl accent.

"Are you guys responsible for the stormy phenomenon just now?"

Seth remained calm. Calling it a stormy phenomenon was quite the understatement, but whatever.

Before he could speak though, Brandon’s voice rang, colder than Seth had ever heard it. "Don’t you think you should order your men to stand down first? You should be aware of who we are, no?"

Brandon didn’t only speak — he already fished out his identification card from his inventory, flashing it their way.

But to his shock, the soldiers barely reacted. The man standing before the squad turned his way, his expression unchanged.

"I do know who you are," he paused, dragging his focus back to Seth as his cold words boomed.

"But do I look like I care?"
