Seth stared at the two before him, wearing a wary frown. At this point he wasn’t certain which was their ability anymore.

Was it the immortality? The constant adaptation their bodies seemed to undergo after each death?

Or was it the first they used — the words made law?

He couldn’t be sure. There was also the fact that since there were two opponents, there had to be two abilities, but that didn’t explain the third.

Whooosh!

"Witness the might of the Divine!" The regenerated figure of the priest whisked before him, his claws drawn all the way back.

Seth blinked.

And the claws fell, carrying with them a shuddering might. The priest’s lips twisted into a sinister smile.

But it stiffened, as a crack rang out. Like an egg throwing itself at a stone, his own hand fractured into an odd angle on impact.

He took unsteady steps backward, his face contorting in pain as he stared at his oddly twisted arm that looked as though he had been gifted an extra joint.

Seth raised a brow. The fuck this guy thought this was?

"My turn."

His arm whipped out, delivering a devastating backhanded slap to his foe’s neck, crushing it into pulp and sending the priest’s head and body flying in separate directions.

’Tsk tsk, the fucker got carried away,’ he scoffed internally, turning his curious gaze to the other twin who seemed to have felt something off.

Before the other priest could even blink, a rapidly enlarging foot covered his vision, and overwhelming pain followed.

His head was stamped deep into a wall, blood and gore dribbling out.

Once more, a few seconds later, the glow of sanguine pulsed, and the two figures were restructured, their presence becoming noticeably stronger.

’They truly are a dangerous duo,’ a thought flashed through Seth’s mind.

He wondered if he kept killing them, would they adapt to the level of an Awakened rank?

Where did their limits lie? How did their adaptation work? Was the resurrection part of this ability or a separate function?

Seth’s eyes flickered with sinister light. ’Well, there’s only one way to find out.’

The two seemed to have faltered in their confidence, the so-called demigods feeling a chill wash their spines under the sinister gaze of the monster before them.

"W-who are you really?" The stuttering voices overlapped, still as eerie.

And the response they got?

Seth overlapped his hands, the tide ability activating on his own hand, which began to pulse blue.

He punched out...

BOOOOOOM!

’Oh? Even reduced to nothing they can still come back? Again!’

He whipped out a tidal slap...

Bam!

’Hmmm? Again!’

Armageddon pulsed on his right, tide bloomed on his left. He clapped...

Crackle! BOOOOOOM!

The entire earthen room trembled, cracks running through the whole structure.

Seth stared at the cracking ceiling, frowning.

Sanguine pulsed, and his foes were revived, this time immediately bursting into a sprint to escape.

"Where do you think you’re going? Oh mighty demigods?" A voice whispered behind them, sending shivers up their backs.

A hand grabbed them by the throat, killing their momentum. Seth stared at the ceiling.

"Let’s take this outside!"

Boom!

With a compressed burst of wind, he flew through the earthen ceiling, bursting right through, tearing through the earth and ripping straight through the top of the mountain.

A good half of the entire structure crumbled into a landslide in his wake.

With the two priests in his arms, Seth’s eyes scanned below as he stood in the air, filtered waves of his will keeping him steady.

He smiled as he felt familiar auras wreaking havoc across the mountain fort.

His pupils honed on a particular section, the flare of his will encasing them, allowing him to see through the earth.

"Good. Elaine had secured the refugees. Our main target has been met." He felt more assured now.

Staring at the crimson-tinted night sky, specifically the red moon, he estimated midnight should clock in a few minutes.

Raising the struggling two, he loosened his grip on their necks somewhat so they could speak.

"Tell me more about this Descent of yours." Though this wasn’t involved with their mission, he still needed to know.

The twin priests just stared back at him coldly, remaining unresponsive.

"Hm? I’m sure a few more deaths will lighten your tongues."

With that he squeezed hard, crushing their necks and popping their heads right off.

He wasn’t done. His hands pulsed with devastating might, the cadence of tide rippling in the air.

He threw out a punch, and a beam of raw, unfiltered power tore through the air, swallowing the corpses of the two priests.

The beam tore through the horizon, drawing a deathly trench in the distance in its wake.

The silver watch on Seth’s wrist flared up a bit before dying back down. He had almost breached the limit.

The chaos across the Blood Order fort halted for a few seconds, as those outside stared at Seth standing in the sky in horror.

Especially an obese figure who had just escaped out of a cave opening, soon enough to witness the sight.

The Blood Father’s beady eyes bulged, the overlapping folds on his belly trembling from terror.

’How can an inferior human, a mere mortal, wield such might belonging to the realm of gods?’ The Blood Father couldn’t comprehend it.

He couldn’t understand it. To decimate a high priest so easily... he couldn’t imagine how strong these intruders were.

’This is bad... really bad. At this rate, the blood reserves will be extinguished, unable to facilitate the high priests’ undying nature for long.’

"Blood Father, we have to move now," Celvic’s eyes filled with terror warned.

And in just that moment, a haunting voice boomed from the cave opening behind them.

"You think that undying cunt can stop me from killing you, fucker?!" The echo of the voice swept forth, accompanying it a terrifying gale of blistering heat.

The Blood Father trembled, horror sinking into his bones, as he quickly burst into a waddled sprint, with Celvic trying his best to pull his massive frame along.

They had hoped a high priest, a freaking demigod in their eyes, could put a stop to that demon. But they were wrong... very wrong.

That monster that seemed to be the incarnate of hell itself didn’t relent, and that meant the high priest had been dealt with.

The terror was visceral, seeing the corpses of their members strewn across the clearings, the survivors wailing from pain and anguish.

Terror and fear reeked unquestioned in the air, and this time the bearers weren’t the refugees...

And thus the Blood Order, that once consisted of myriad brutal savage members who claimed to fear nothing...

Was sent down the bottomless pit of horror by the hands of just six teenagers...
