A thunderous clap resounded through the skies as Seth’s silhouette could be seen breaking through the sound barrier.

The heavy compressed force of wind scraped against his skin, but he barely felt it.

His clothes stuck pressed to his body as a subtle pulse of essence coated them, preventing the scalding heat generated from his speed from pulverizing the fabrics...

His silver hair fluttered loosely, and his eyes pulsed with an amethyst sheen that seemed to pierce through the veil of clouds beneath him.

’There!’ His pupils honed on the sight of a gigantic dome construct sitting in the heart of a metropolitan hub.

He came to an abrupt stop midair, defying all laws of physics, waves of boiling air billowing from his figure as he plummeted.

And despite how fast he streaked down from the sky, when he landed there was an absence of disaster — no heavy shockwave, no crater, nothing.

Albeit, he levitated slightly, his toes inches from the ground...

Billard had offered to arrange him a vehicle or something for transportation, after all he figured Seth’s destination was quite far.

But he was quickly rejected. Any other time Seth wouldn’t have minded, but right now he didn’t have much time to tarry.

So Billard did the next best thing: he informed the other party Seth was coming and had arranged an escort to await his arrival.

After all, the research center wasn’t only a classified area, but a highly defensive region. Even the president couldn’t visit unannounced.

Captain Miguel and his team, the escort arranged, stood in a gawking daze as they stared at Seth in shock, still trying to process what they had just witnessed.

Who the hell was this guy?

All they had been told was that they were to stand in wait for a big shot, but this...

Since when could humans fly? What sort of gene skill was this? And besides, what was this stifling, overbearing pressure?

Everyone glanced at each other with nervous lights flickering in the depths of their gaze.

Such a figure was definitely a high-ranking evolver of sorts, probably even one of those elites that had maxed their stats!

They couldn’t offend!

Captain Miguel quickly gathered his composure and walked forward, slinging his gun to his back and out of sight to appear as less threatening as possible. He didn’t dare make the mistake of giving the wrong impression.

He saluted, the rest of his soldiers behind following suit. "Good day, sir! We are here to receive a Seth Duskreaver?"

Seth nodded. "Mmn, that’s me."

He glanced at the surroundings, and it seemed quite isolated. Aside from a few scant soldiers here and there gawking at him from afar, there were no civilians in sight.

The research center was a grand dome structure that towered at least 120 feet, and the colossus of a construct was surrounded by a defensive steel wire rampart.

And it was precisely within this paved compound Seth had landed, fortunately saving him from the commotion that might have followed if civilians caught sight of his stunt.

Before the captain could speak more, Seth went straight to the point. "I’m here to meet Engineer Ron. Lead the way."

The captain swallowed whatever he was just about to say and nodded, signaling the rest of his soldiers as they escorted him into the grand E-sliding glass door entrance of the structure.

They navigated through the building, walking through brightly illuminated halls, with scientists and professors of various strains going about their day.

Finally, they reached a desk situated before a closed entrance. Captain Miguel stepped forward to address the secretary behind the desk.

But before he could even start...

"The professor will not be seeing anyone." The lady secretary said with a deadpan expression, before they could even ask.

Seth’s lips curled subtly into a frown. The captain seemed to catch sight of this from the corner of his eyes, beads of sweat sliding down from his temples.

"Ah, sorry, but we already have an appointment set by the Secretary of Defense, Sir Bi—" The captain’s explanation was cut short.

The secretary repeated her words, cold and monotone. "The professor will not be seeing anyone."

The captain frowned. "You don’t understand th—"

"The professor will not be seeing anyone."

Seth’s frown grew deeper. He turned to stare at the dense titanium-grade metal door, the only obstacle between him and his goal.

His hands twitched ever so slightly. Before him, this high-grade defensive door might as well be papier-mâché.

But in the end, he restrained his impulses. The Engineer must have given these instructions for a good reason.

But that was the problem — he couldn’t wait...

He stepped forward, prompting the captain to give way. And just as he moved his lips to speak...

"The professor will not be seeing anyone."

Seth creased his brows. He knew this lady was just doing her job, but could she at least be less annoying about it?

He was peeved by her dismissive attitude, but he still asked, "When will I be able to see him?"

The lady’s tightened expression finally loosened. She shook her head. "I don’t know."

"Can you pass a message across?" he asked again.

"I can try, but I don’t guarantee anything." She replied, reaching for a telephone.

But Seth just nodded and was about to tell the lady to relay his name when...

"Leia! Open the door, I want to speak to my grandpa!" A feminine voice called from nowhere.

Seth didn’t pay mind initially until he saw the secretary’s reaction.

"Yes, young miss." The secretary’s expression broke from formally placid to reverent. Reaching for a button beneath her desk, the once sealed doors slid open.

Seth blinked. The fuck? Wasn’t the professor not seeing anyone?

The escort soldiers behind him were also flabbergasted.

Everyone turned to see the source of the voice, and were stunned...

A goddess!

That was the only thought anyone could process... drawn lost by the beauty before their eyes.

A young lady who looked to be about 17–18 walked in, her facial features akin to a live manifestation of a fairy.

Her eyes bright green like emerald gems, her hair flowing vermilion, and then there was her figure.

Surprisingly, she was neither overly voluptuous nor was she lacking. The word that could be used was moderate. Plus, she was wearing flowing garments that didn’t overly define her figure, but even this was more than enough to provoke the primal instinct of every man observing.

The lady’s steps halted, her delicately sculpted eyebrows creased as she felt the stares coming her way.

She turned, throwing a glance towards her observers for a brief second, before ignoring them and continuing on her way, her back slowly fading as the metal doors slid back closed.

Everyone blinked, finally snapping out of a daze. They felt as if they had just observed the world’s most precious treasure.

But still, they didn’t forget their grievance. Captain Miguel stepped forward, frowning. "You said no one was allowed to see the professor."

The secretary remained silent to this, scanning them, a frown growing on her face. "Where is your boss?"

Huh? Captain Miguel finally turned around and noticed... Seth was nowhere to be seen.
