Third Person POV

Minutes earlier...

"Hey, son," Paula greeted as soon as she pushed the door open.

"What is it? I’m busy." Xavier snapped curtly with a frown resting between his brows as memories from last evening came rushing back into his mind. He barely looked up from his computer or spared his mother a glance.

She slowly approached him, walking over to stand at the edge of his desk.

"I just wanted to check in on you," she began, her voice dropping to a soft and gentle tone. "How are you doing? Is everything okay?" Her concerned voice reached his ears.

"I’m fine," he replied coldly with a distant look that was stretched across his face. He had finally looked up from the screen this time and they locked eyes. "Why are you asking anyway?"

There was a brief pause as she hesitated for a moment, struggling to find the words to say.

"... Did Aurelia... she..." she stammered, unable to get her words out and his patience was running thin by the second.

"Did Aurelia what?" He snapped in frustration, and the frown on his face deepened.

"Did she break up with you?" She asked point blank, getting straight to the point this time, no more beating around the bush.

"What? What are you talking about, mum? Why would she break up with me?" He asked, hurling questions at his mother after his mind finally registered the words that left her mouth. Confusion laced his voice and his brows were knitted together as he looked at her.

"She took my money and she said she would leave you."

His eyes grew wide with anger as he clenched his jaws tightly and his blood boiling with anger.

"You did what?!" His voice boomed loudly, disbelief was written all over his face. "Have you lost your mind?" His sharp voice pierced through the tension that was already brewing up a storm.

She stepped back, quickly throwing her arms up in mock surrender and began to defend her actions. "I was just testing her! I wanted to make sure that she’s only with you because she truly loves you and not because she needed an ATM to fund that kid in her stomach," she sneered with a disdainful scorn as her nose scrunched up with what seemed like pure disgust.

He balled his fist tightly and banged it against the table with a loud thud as his features darkened within the next second.

"Aurelia isn’t that kind of person," he said through gritted teeth. "I don’t need you to go around testing her with this nonsense, did you think this is some drama?"

She placed her hand on his shoulder. "I was just doing this for your own good. Why couldn’t you understand that?" She asked, as her gaze softened and a pitiful look was etched onto her face, trying to make what she did seem less harmful despite her obvious ill intentions. "Now you can finally see for yourself that she is only with you because of your money! Otherwise, she wouldn’t have taken the money I offered her," she quickly added.

"Besides..." she drawled, her voice trailing off. "Isn’t it better that you find out early rather than 18 years down the road after you sent the kid off to college?" She snarled.

"I don’t believe you. She wouldn’t have taken the money." The words left his lips and he reached up to shove his mother’s hand off his shoulder.

She let out a breath, a knowing look crossed her eyes for a split second before it quickly disappeared.

"You could just ask her, and see for yourself."

First Person POV

Knock knock knock.

"Come in!" I exclaimed.

Within the next second, the door flew open and my eyes snapped up to see that Xavier was standing by the door with a calm expression that masked his features. He quickly closed the door behind him and walked towards me, closing the distance between us in a few strides.

Naturally, I let a smile fall on my face as we locked eyes. "Hey, babe," I greeted warmly. "Looking for me?"

I watched as the corners of his lips twitched upwards into a slight smile as he leaned down and his hand snaked around the back of my neck, pulling me in close, our faces now only inches apart from one another.

I could feel his hot breath fanning the nape of my neck as he got closer to me, the warmth of his palm seeped into my skin at that moment, sending a tingling sensation right down my spine.

His dark eyes held mine captive and I couldn’t hold back the smile that was appearing on my face. "What is it?" I muttered under my breath as I looked up at him with wide doe eyes.

"Nothing, I just missed you."

The words barely left the tip of his tongue when he pressed a searing kiss to my lips. Instantly, I let my eyes flutter shut as he used his hand to deepen our kiss before I could even register what was happening. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

I kissed him back with equal fervour, relishing in the moment as my hand travelled up to play with his hair. Then I was quickly snapped back to reality, my eyes widened and I gently pushed him off me, a giggle escaped from my parted lips as I fixed my hair.

"Xavier... We are in the office," I reminded him with a playful smile etched onto my lips as my hand rested on his chest sensually. My heart raced inside my chest and my imagination started to run wild.

"So?" He asked, arching his brow at me as his hoarse voice reached my ears. A smirk started to morph itself on his lips as he gazed at me.

Without saying another word, he picked me up in his strong arms and carried me to sit on the desk. The smirk on his face widened as he parted my thighs easily, standing between them and his body hovered over me.

His hand immediately reached down to unbutton my top as he pressed his lips against my neck and I could feel myself getting hot and my cheeks turning red. Adrenaline was pumping through every single veins inside my body and I let a soft moan escape my parted lips when he slipped his hand underneath my shirt and let his palm cup my breast.

My hand trailed down his broad chest and I could feel his heart pumping inside of his chest, his heart beating faster than usual. I slowly went down lower, letting gravity take the lead. My fingers were tracing over his shirt, feeling the outline of his defined abs and a smile lingered on my lips when I felt the bulge in his pants.

"Someone’s excited," I teased with a mischievous look glinting in my dark eyes.

A low chuckle left his lips as he placed his hands on both sides of my waist to pull me in closer towards him as my chest collided with his. "Well, yeah," he murmured under his breath, as he let out a breath. His gaze flickered down to glance at my slightly exposed chest before he looked back up again. "I mean, look at you," his voice dropped to a hush whisper.

Another soft chuckle left my lips and I slung my arms around his neck. His hand reached down to my inner thighs and my mound as the feeling of pleasure shot through my body at that moment. I sucked in a deep breath and the air started to fill with arousal as I could feel the wetness began to gather below.

"Oh, Xavier..." I moaned, his name left my lips in a soft voice that was barely above a whisper.

In one swift movement, he unbuttoned my pants and pulled the zipper down before slipping his fingers inside. My body jerked slightly at the warmth of his touch and the feeling of ecstasy coursed through my body this time.

All senses of rationality were thrown right out of the window and I could not control myself any longer. I gripped onto his shoulders, my fingernails digging into his flesh as I threw my head back in pleasure.

He leaned forward to kiss me once again, his hand still lingering at my mound, teasing me as he breathed heavily. My hand fell from his shoulder at one point and I tried to reach for something, to grab onto the edge of the table when I accidentally knocked over something and the loud thud echoed in the space.

He pulled away from me in a split second, his eyes were instantly drawn to my purse that had fallen onto the ground, more specifically, he was looking at a piece of seemingly innocent paper.

He examined it closely and his eyes flashed with recognition. I watched with wide eyes as he walked over to pick it up and a soft gasp emerged from his throat.

"I can’t believe it..." He muttered under his breath. "My mum was right."
