Kelvin looked at him as he arched his eyebrow at him, an intrigued yet curious expression masked his features.

"A favour?"

"Mhmm..." Xavier muttered as he nodded his head. Before his friend could even say another word, he grabbed both him and me and pulled us aside to a corner, hidden away from everyone else. His eyes scanned the nearby surroundings to make sure no one else was nearby before he leaned in closer to murmur next to his friend’s ear. "Do you remember 3 years ago? You said you owed me a favour and you would help me with anything?"

Kelvin looked at him as recognition flashed past his eyes for a fleeting moment, the memories from before came flooding his mind. "Yes, but..." he paused and a frown crept onto his face as he observed Xavier’s features. "You are looking mad suspicious right now man, what are you up to?" He asked, his voice laced with a hint of doubt and suspicion as he eyed him cautiously.

I also found myself staring right at Xavier, curiosity burning in my eyes.

A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. "I need you to help me get a maternity test done for someone I know. And... I want the recording of the cameras in one of the wards."

Kelvin looked at him as his eyes grew wide while a confused expression crossed my face.

"Maternity test, yes I can help but recordings? I can’t do that. I don’t have the permission to give you the recordings," he said as he lowered his voice to a hushed whisper.

I reached out to wrap my fingers around Xavier’s arm as I looked up at him with a tiny frown etched between my brows. "Maternity test? Why?" I questioned, my voice laced with a hint of confusion. "You mean for my mum and I? But didn’t we already do the test and it says that I am her daughter. How could it be –"

Xavier cut me off before I could finish my sentence. "Yes, but...." his voice trailed off with an intentional look swirling in the depths of his eyes. "We haven’t done one for Evelyn and your mother. Besides, I don’t trust the results, we only did it once, what if there is some kind of mistake or mixup? Something is not right," he suggested.

"Wait, wait, wait..." Kelvin butted in this time. "Evelyn, as in Evelyn Lloyd? The only daughter of the richest family, the Lloyds?"

"Yup," Xavier confirmed, I know you are close friends with them, aren’t you?"

"Yeah but –"

"Then help me. Please." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Kelvin looked at him as silence lapsed between them for a brief moment as he contemplated for a while before he let out a breath.

"Fine. I will do it."

Third Person POV

"Aaron! Babe!" Stella called out to him the moment she walked into the house and closed the door behind her. She set her things down aside and threw the pile of letters she was holding onto the nearest table. "There’s some letters in the mail, I placed them on the table," she announced without thinking much of it. Afterall, they were just letters, right?

She looked up to see Aaron walking out from the bedroom, his hair was a mess, he looked as though he had just woken up not too long ago. He rubbed his eyes and let out a yawn, a blank look still plastered across his face. But as soon as they locked eyes, the corners of his lips curved upwards into a smile.

He walked over to her, closing the distance between them in a few strides as he leaned in and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her in close to his chest. "Hey sexy," he greeted in his hoarse voice. "What are you doing here so early in the morning?"

She smiled seductively as she looked up at him with wide doe eyes that melted his heart in an instant. She reached up to cup his face in her hands. "Wanted to cook you some breakfast."

"Oh is it?" He asked with a raised brow. "Is it my favourite..."

"Yes, your favourite scrambled eggs with toast and sausages."

"Oh, Stella, baby, you are the best..." he murmured in a low voice as he leaned in to kiss her cheeks and down her neck, causing the smile on her face to widen as her giggles filled the house.

"Alright, babe, I gotta go prepare," she said in between chuckles and laughs.

"Fine, fine," he mumbled under his breath as he let her go. He watched as she walked over to the kitchen before he plopped down on the couch and relaxed his posture.

His eyes flickered down to glance at the pile of letters sitting in the middle of the table right in front of him. He was about to look away when he noticed one particular letter that seemed to stick out like a sore thumb despite its plain and ordinary look.

Curiosity was swirling in the depths of his dark brown eyes as he carefully leaned forward and grabbed that piece of letter, pulling it out from the pile. He could feel his heart racing in his chest for some reason, a strange and unsettling feeling engulfed him. Slowly, he tore open the envelope and pulled out a piece of paper inside of it.

His eyes grew wide with shock and anger within the next second when realisation washed over him and he finally understood what he was looking at. The paper that he was holding in his hand was crushed and squeezed at the corners as his fists were balled up tightly and his jaws were clenched.

"No!" He screamed, the sudden loud voice startled Stella who was frying up some egg in the kitchen. "No, no, no!"

She quickly turned off the fire and rushed over to his side. "Babe, what’s wrong?" She asked, concern and worry evident on her face as she looked at him. "What happened?"

He didn’t say a word but she noticed the crushed up piece of paper in his hand and snatched it away from him. She opened it fully and looked down to find herself staring at the signed divorce papers.

"Serena... She is divorcing you?" She mumbled softly under her breath, emotions were running wild in her eyes, and she didn’t know exactly how to feel. On one hand, she was happy that Serena is out of the picture but on the other hand, she enjoyed the feeling of sneaking around with him and the satisfaction of stealing another woman’s man.

"She is fucking out of her mind!" He sneered with a disdainful scorn. "Is she seriously going to divorce me? I should be the one dumping her ass!" He scoffed loudly, his ego clearly had taken a hit. He simply couldn’t believe that Serena, his once meek and shy wife, was the one who would initiate a divorce.

"You know what? I bet it’s that Aurelia bitch, she must be the one who told my wife to divorce me, this is definitely all her doing!" He shrieked loudly as his voice cracked towards the end of the sentence while rage was pulsing through every single vein inside his body. "Why couldn’t that damn woman just mind her own damn business?!"

A smile played on her lips, satisfaction filled her heart as she heard Aaron cuss out aurelia. She rested her hand on his arm. "But babe, isn’t this good? Then we can finally be together without her getting in our way," she said, her eyes gleaming with a knowing look as a smirk morphed itself onto her lips. "She is doing us a favour," she added.

"Why do you care? You are with another man too," he remarked, his tone carrying a sharp edge to it.

She put her arms around his neck. "But you know I love you, right? I only continued to stay with him because he promised to make me a famous actress. Now that he is actually a growing director, I think the time will come soon. Once I get what I want, I will leave him and we can be together forever, babe," she said with a smile still lingering on her lips, her words tugging at the strings of his heart and he felt inclined to trust her. "You know how much this means to me. You wouldn’t want me to give up on my dreams, right?"

He let out a breath and he shook his head. "No, of course not."

"Exactly," she muttered under her breath as the smile that was plastered across her face widened ever so slightly. "I know you are angry, I know you hate Aurelia, especially after what she did to you back then at your office..." she added, continuing to add fuel to the already burning fire.

She paused dramatically and they locked eyes, her dark eyes holding his eyes captive.

"You want revenge, don’t you?"

He nodded and an evil look flashed past her eyes as a smirk spread across her face.

"I know a way."
