Third Person POV

"Are you serious?" Disbelief was written all over her face as she looked up to stare into his dark eyes, with a fiery blaze swirling in her eyes.

"Yes, I am," he confirmed, his voice remaining unwavering as a look of certainty crossed his face. "Why would I not be?"

She slammed her hand on the table, the loud sound echoing in the space as she rose from her seat in an instant.

"Are you crazy? You can’t do that," she insisted. "You know who my parents are right? Do you have a death wish?" she questioned with a raised brow, her voice carrying a sharp edge to it.

"I don’t care who your parents are," he retorted in a cold voice, unbothered by her threat. "Nobody touches my wife and gets away with it."

Anger and jealousy coursed through her body as soon as those words rolled off the tip of his tongue and her cheeks turned red.

"Your wife this, your wife that, who is she anyway?! Do you really love her that much?!" She burst out yelling in anger, her high-pitch voice piercing through the air as her fists were clenched tightly beside her.

He looked at her as silence stretched between the both of them, he was simply unfazed by her antics and yelling. After all, he had been used to this.

"I do. I always did," he simply said in a serious tone as he looked her dead in her eyes.

A humourless laughter left her lips. She collapsed back down onto the chair dramatically as if her knees went weak, her hands gripping onto the side of the table for support.

"I don’t get it..." she mumbled under her breath and she kept her head hung low as questions and thoughts raced through her mind. She looked back up at him this time with tears glistening in the brim of her eyes. "How is she... better than me?" She questioned in a shaky voice, trying to gain his sympathy, but he remained indifferent, unmoved by the tears that were streaming down her face.

"Aurelia has always been better than you in every other way. You can never compare to her," he answered coldly in a firm voice. He took a step towards her, closing the distance between them as he looked down at her, his body looming above her. "So, stay away from her while I’m still being nice," he threatened through gritted teeth as he clenched his jaw tightly.

She sucked in a deep breath. "I don’t know what you are talking about," she said now as she wiped the tears off her face, playing innocent once again. "I have always been nice to her and I have never done anything to her."

"Is that so?" He asked with a smirk etched onto his face. "Let me refresh your memory then."

"So what if I did? That bitch deserved it!" Evelyn heard her own voice come out of the speaker of his phone and she felt her heart sink to the pit of her stomach.

Her eyes grew wide with horror and anger in the next second.

"You recorded me?" She leaned forward, trying to grab the phone from his hands "Delete it!" She shrieked in her shrill voice but he quickly dodged with a nonchalant look etched on his face.

"No," he deadpanned. "I hope you find yourself a good lawyer," he retorted sarcastically.

He turned to leave, rendering her speechless and she slumped back into the seat with a defeated look as she stared at his back longingly.

There was a knock on the door.

"Come on in," I said, my eyes still fixated on the computer screen in front of me, not bothering to look up as I continued typing away.

The door swung open as soon as the words left my lips and a familiar voice reached my ears.

"I heard that you are looking for me," the voice said, a hint of annoyance laced his hoarse voice. I tore my gaze away from the screen finally and looked up to find myself coming face to face with Blake who was standing right in front of me just as the door closed behind him.

I smiled, my lips curling upwards. "Yeah, I need you to make me a cup of coffee," I said casually, not sparing him another glance. I looked back down onto the screen and began typing away furiously with my brows knitted together in concentration.

"What?" His voice came out louder than expected. "Are you crazy? Who do you think I am? I’m not your personal butler," he retorted unhappily as he glared at me with clear disdain written all over his face.

I looked up and we locked eyes, silence enveloped the both of us for a brief moment as tension continued to brew in the air.

I simply ignored his protests, letting his words go over my head.

"Go make me my coffee," I repeated with a cold look plastered across my face, my lips pressed tightly into a thin line. "You know how I like my coffee right?" I questioned as a smirk tugged at the corners of my lips, watching the way anger slowly took control of his features.

"You... fine!" He gave in as he didn’t bother arguing with me any longer. Instead, he stormed off and quickly returned with a cup of coffee in his hands, before he carefully set it down onto the table in front of me.

I took a sip and my nose scrunched up with disgust. He was just about to step out when I yelled out. "This is way too sweet! How much sugar did you add in this?" I complained intentionally and watched with satisfaction as his face was slowly starting to turn red with anger.

He clenched his fists tightly beside him and glared at me with a fiery blaze swirling inside his icy blue eyes. He snatched the cup of coffee out of my hands without a single warning and left without saying another word. It didn’t take long before he returned with another cup of coffee, placing it down on the table once again with a loud thud as if to show his displeasure with me.

I brought the cup close to my lips and took another sip before I burst into a coughing fit, putting on my best act.

"Are you trying to burn me? This is way too hot!" I complained again and as expected he lost his temper this time.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" He snapped angrily, his voice trembling with rage. "How many times are you going to do this? You are doing this on purpose, aren’t you?!" He shouted, his voice thick with accusation as he glared at me with an intense look.

A smirk morphed itself onto my lips and my eyes twinkled with a knowing look as I slowly set the cup of coffee down onto the table. I leaned back into the chair and crossed my arms over my chest as his gaze matched mine.

"So what if I am?" I taunted with a raised brow. "I could do this forever, you know? For as long as you are here, I won’t stop."

A low chuckle emerged from his parted lips.

"You can’t keep humiliating me forever, Aurelia. I’m not going to stand here and let you do this to me." There was a short pause before he let the next few words leave the tip of his tongue. "You know what? I’m not taking this shit of yours any longer, I’m quitting," he spat the words out like they were poison in his mouth.

I smiled, a subtle one.

I won this time. Step one of the plan was finally accomplished, making him quit to lose his income stream. And this was just the start.

"Sure, I won’t stop you," I started. "But it’s such a pity to lose a hard worker like you," I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm as a small frown was etched between my brows.

"I don’t need your sarcasm," he snarled with disdain as he slammed his palm on the table. He narrowed his eyes at me, defiance swimming in his eyes. "But just so you know, I don’t need this job anyway. I’m going to be a successful director and producer without your help, then you are going to regret everything when I become rich and successful in the future."

We locked eyes as I looked at him.

The corners of my lips twitched upwards into a smile.

"Okay, good luck."

I watched as he spun on his heels, ready to leave when I called out to him again.

"Oh, and by the way..." I began, my voice trailing off as he snapped his head around to look at me with an annoyed look stretched across his face.

"What?"

A smirk appeared on my lips as I reached for the envelope sitting on my table.

"I have something for you."
