At the Youkelai Tavern, a thin young man dressed as a waiter greeted them with a smile. He hurried to the entrance and bowed respectfully, making an inviting gesture as his eyes darted over the new arrivals.

There were three of them in total: two men and a woman. The woman was breathtakingly beautiful, with a pure and lovely face. She was like a mountain sprite, radiating a youthful, vibrant energy.

The waiter stared, dumbfounded, and it took him a long moment to recover. Not daring to stare and risk offending the fairy-like beauty, he quickly shifted his gaze to the man in white beside her. His clothes were immaculate and his sharp eyes were angled upwards, giving him a handsome, extraordinary appearance with a hint of wild abandon in his features.

Having worked in the tavern for many years, the waiter had developed a keen eye for people.

He could naturally tell the man in white was no ordinary person. More importantly, the man gave him a strange, enigmatic feeling, as if he were shrouded in mist.

Furthermore, the cautious and perceptive waiter noticed that the stunning woman’s gaze often fell on the man in white. Even the man behind them was watching him. From this, he deduced that the man in white was the one in charge.

Without a hint of disdain, he looked respectfully at the man in white and asked, "Esteemed guests, what can I get for you?"

The woman was, of course, Yangg Qing’er. As for the man in white, who else could he be but Ye Wushuang?

Ye Wushuang glanced around at the other patrons before saying, "We’d like a private room."

The waiter said apologetically, "My apologies, esteemed guests, but the first floor is full. We only have private rooms available on the second and third floors. Would one of those be acceptable?"

"A room on the second floor will be fine." Ye Wushuang wasn’t one to put on airs. His main purpose here was to gather information, and a room on the second floor would be closer to the main hall, making it easier to overhear conversations.

"This way to the second floor, esteemed guests."

The waiter immediately led the three of them further into the tavern.

The first floor was packed, and the cacophony of conversations drowned out everything else. The arrival of the trio went completely unnoticed.

"Did you hear? The Giant Spirit Clan has reappeared. I heard it was because of some person."

"What person?"

"You haven’t heard? The rumor is that the Priest of the Giant Spirit Clan has appeared, and that person is him."

Hearing the crowd’s discussion, Yangg Qing’er covered her mouth to stifle a laugh.

Beside her, Meng Fanx also shook his head and smiled. ’The man himself is right in front of them,’ he thought, ’and they have no idea.’

"Miss, you shouldn’t laugh like that," the waiter warned kindly. "I hear the White-Clothed Killing God slaughters people without a second thought. If he found out someone was speaking ill of him, he’d probably start another massacre. There’d be rivers of blood."

"Brother Ye," Yangg Qing’er said, turning to Ye Wushuang, "the White-Clothed Killing God has three heads, six arms, and slaughters people like flies, you know." She giggled, her smile as captivating as a flower in full bloom, utterly mesmerizing.

In addition to her pure and innocent charm, Yangg Qing’er now carried a hint of seductive allure in her eyes, a change that had come since she’d become a woman. The sight sent a jolt of heat through Ye Wushuang’s lower body as he recalled their recent passion. He almost lost control right then and there.

He took a deep breath, forcing the feeling down. ’I’ll have to find a chance to properly punish this little minx,’ he thought. ’She’s already started teasing me.’

He just shook his head and smiled, ignoring the claims of him being a mass murderer. ’If others don’t try to kill me,’ he mused, ’why would I ever kill them?’

Putting it out of his mind, he followed the waiter to the foot of the stairs. Just as he was about to go up, an arrogant shout suddenly echoed from the entrance.

"Waiter, get the hell out here!"

A young man in lavish, navy-blue robes strode in. His corpulent body, like a small hill, filled two-thirds of the doorway.

The waiter shot Ye Wushuang an apologetic glance before hurrying over to the newcomer. He asked respectfully, "Young Master, what can I do for you?"

"The second floor. I’m booking the entire thing today. Hurry up and kick everyone else out."

The corpulent young man’s cold shout was so loud it instantly cut through the din of the tavern. All the patrons turned to look.

"My deepest apologies, Young Master, but the second floor is already occupied. There are a few private rooms still available, perhaps you’d like to..."

Before the waiter could finish, the young man flew into a rage.

CRACK!

A slap landed squarely on the waiter’s face. With a thud, his body slammed onto the floor right in front of Ye Wushuang and his companions.

A fiery red palm print instantly swelled on the waiter’s cheek. A trickle of blood oozed from the corner of his mouth as he curled up on the floor, clutching his face.

"You ungrateful dog! I give you face and you throw it back at me. Now get the people on the second floor out of here!"

The corpulent young man snorted, his voice dripping with contempt.

With a look of pure grievance, the waiter struggled to his feet. He looked apologetically at the trio and said, "Esteemed guests, I am so sorry. I’m afraid there’s no room on the second floor now. Perhaps... you could take a room on the third floor instead?"

"It’s first come, first served. On what grounds should he be able to kick us out?" Yangg Qing’er couldn’t help but say, her delicate brows knitting together in clear displeasure at the young man’s arrogance.

"The young lady’s right! It’s first come, first served. How can he be so damn arrogant!"

"Exactly! If everyone acted like him, there’d be no room for the rest of us!"

As soon as Yangg Qing’er spoke, the patrons all turned to look. Struck by her beauty, their collective instinct to protect such a damsel was instantly roused.

"Hmph!" the young man roared in fury. "On what grounds? On the grounds that I’m paying with more Spirit Stones than all of you combined! I’m booking the entire second floor for triple the price! All of you, get the hell out within half a breath, or don’t blame me for what happens next!"

As he spoke, he glared at Ye Wushuang’s group, a cold killing intent rising in his eyes.

"Annoying."

Ye Wushuang had been patient, but the young man was only growing more arrogant, even telling him to his face to get out.

With a cold glint in his eye, Ye Wushuang took a single step, walking on air toward the corpulent young man.

"You bastard! You dare attack me? I’ll cripple you!"

The young man’s face darkened as the aura of the True Essence Ninth Layer erupted from his body, stunning the onlookers.

But as Ye Wushuang took his step, that powerful aura collapsed like a receding tide.
