"How strange. Ye Wushuang entered the eighth floor and vanished too. What’s going on?"

"The Ouyang Family has always guarded the Void Saber Tower. Don’t tell me they’re up to something!"

"Hush! Don’t talk nonsense. Be careful, a member of the Ouyang Family might hear you."

A buzz of discussion rippled through the crowd. Ye Wushuang had entered the eighth floor, only to vanish shortly after. It finally dawned on everyone that something was wrong.

They didn’t know what was happening inside the Void Saber Tower, but the strange disappearances of two people made one thing clear: the eighth floor was not as simple as it seemed.

The more astute among them had even begun to suspect that both challengers had already met their end on the eighth floor!

’Excellent!’ Ouyang Badao roared internally as he saw Ye Wushuang’s name disappear. ’It looks like Elder Ouyang has dealt with Ye Wushuang. That boy is simply terrifying. Leaving him alive would have been a huge menace. It’s a good thing he’s dead!’

Ouyang Badao sneered inwardly. To be honest, even he had been shocked when Ye Wushuang had practically flown into the seventh floor.

No one knew better than him just how difficult the Tower Spirit of the Void Saber Tower was to deal with. Not even a True Essence Realm powerhouse could claim to reach the seventh floor in a single go.

And yet, Ye Wushuang had done it!

Outsiders were merely astonished by Ye Wushuang’s speed, but Ouyang Badao was astonished by his power. He had previously sensed that Ye Wushuang’s cultivation was only at the Qi Vortex Fourth Level!

And yet, at the mere Qi Vortex Fourth Level, he had accomplished something that even a True Essence Powerhouse couldn’t. This showed just how terrifying his talent and combat power were. The very thought was horrifying!

’Thank goodness the Elder dealt with that boy!’ Ouyang Badao rejoiced inwardly, congratulating himself on his meticulous plan. Otherwise, if Ye Wushuang had been allowed to rise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

Little did Ouyang Badao know, however, that the Elder of his family had already been killed by Ye Wushuang!

Of course, one other person in the crowd was also overjoyed: Ye Xiong, who had been wearing a grim expression this whole time. If Ye Wushuang was truly dead, he would win his bet with Ye Xuan without a shadow of a doubt.

At the thought of becoming the next City Lord, a look of sheer ecstasy spread across Ye Xiong’s face.

"Patriarch!" The Fifth Elder’s brow furrowed, as if he had seen through something, and he looked like he was about to speak.

"Don’t speak yet. It’s not over. Don’t jump to conclusions!"

Ye Xuan’s voice was low as his eyes gazed toward the ninth floor. Perhaps it was due to the special connection he shared with Ye Wushuang, but he could sense that his son would not die so easily.

Of course, while Ye Xuan wasn’t worried about Ye Wushuang facing danger on the eighth floor, he was worried his son would try to enter the ninth floor!

Ye Wushuang had been staring intently at the ninth floor earlier. He knew his son’s personality; once Ye Wushuang set his mind on something, likely nothing and no one could stop him.

RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

Just as everyone was lost in their own thoughts, the Void Saber Tower began to shake violently, as if it were about to tear itself from the ground. The earth trembled, and several huge cracks spiderwebbed across it like scars!

The people in the grand plaza suddenly found it hard to stay on their feet. They swayed, and many who couldn’t react in time were thrown to the ground.

"What’s going on?"

"What happened?"

Everyone was terrified, as if the apocalypse had arrived. Even the members of the three major factions were filled with panic!

Meanwhile, on the ninth floor, the Dragon Cat was tossing a blue-and-red sphere of light. With every toss, the Void Saber Tower and the grand plaza outside would tremble!

This was unfortunate for the crowd outside, who had no idea that this seemingly apocalyptic destruction was all the work of a single fat cat.

"Kid, Lord Cat has figured out your tricks! You can’t beat me anymore, GYAHAHAHA!" the Dragon Cat declared, puffing out its chest with an air of total fearlessness.

Ye Wushuang’s mouth twitched, but inwardly he was still completely shocked by the Dragon Cat’s speed!

Perhaps it was the strangeness of the Void Saber Intent that had caught the creature off guard, allowing him to catch it and give it a beating. But the moment it recovered, it had bolted in a flash.

It was faster than light. Even when Ye Wushuang used Floating Light and Shadow, he could barely catch a trace of it!

After a moment of silence, Ye Wushuang said, "Since you’re out, I’ll give you two choices. One: you follow me obediently and do whatever I say. Two: you can choose to leave."

"Then Lord Cat is leaving." Upon hearing this, the Dragon Cat chose the second option without a second thought. It tossed the blue-and-red sphere of light to Ye Wushuang and turned to go. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

However, after a few steps, it stopped. It shot a furtive glance backward, only to find that Ye Wushuang wasn’t looking at it at all. Instead, he was examining the blue-and-red sphere of light.

"Ahem! Kid, Lord Cat happens to be the greatest tomb-raiding cat in the entire Nine Heavens Domain! Supreme Saint Tombs, Ancient Secret Realms... Lord Cat walks through them like it’s a stroll in the park. With me around, Heaven-Defying Opportunities and peerless Divine Soldiers will come with a wave of my paw. Are you sure you’re not going to *beg* Lord Cat to stay?"

The Dragon Cat’s shifty eyes darted about as it watched Ye Wushuang, heavily emphasizing the three words "beg Lord Cat."

"Oh."

However, Ye Wushuang merely kept his eyes on the blue-and-red sphere, uttering that single, indifferent word.

"Damn it, kid! What kind of attitude is that? Do you know how many people would grovel at my feet just to meet Lord Cat? And even then, I just kick them away! I’m giving *you* the chance to beg me, and only because you gave me that Fire Milk, but you have zero reaction! What’s the big idea!"

The Dragon Cat flew into a rage at this, though it didn’t forget to praise itself in the process.

"One option: follow me and do as I say from now on!"

Ye Wushuang glanced at the Dragon Cat from the corner of his eye, the edge of his lips curling into a faint smile. He stated his terms without mincing words. ’I have to lay down the law now,’ he thought. ’With its ’I’m-the-greatest’ attitude, it’ll be completely out of control later if I don’t.’

Of course, Ye Wushuang was also certain the creature wouldn’t leave him. It was completely unfamiliar with the Grand Emperor Domain, and given its personality, it wouldn’t dare to venture out recklessly on its own.

With that thought, Ye Wushuang put away the blue-and-red sphere and headed toward the eighth floor. The sphere was the control center of the Void Saber Tower; giving it to his father, Ye Xuan, would mean his mission was complete.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!"

The Dragon Cat was dumbfounded. It hadn’t expected Ye Wushuang to be completely unwilling to negotiate.

Now, it was starting to panic.

In truth, it really did want to follow Ye Wushuang.

It wasn’t just because it was unfamiliar with the Grand Emperor Domain; there were actually two other reasons:

First, Ye Wushuang possessed the bloodline of an Emperor, and it knew exactly what that implied!

Second, it had invested its own essence in Ye Wushuang, personally forging a First Generation Chaos Sky-Devouring Dragon Body, the likes of which had never been seen before. It wanted to witness his growth and see if Ye Wushuang could undergo atavistic regression and cultivate the true First Generation Chaos Sky-Devouring Dragon Body.

"Damn it all, kid! You win!"

After a moment’s hesitation, the Dragon Cat rolled its eyes. Then, in a flash, it zipped over to follow right at Ye Wushuang’s heels.

Seeing this, a smile finally bloomed on Ye Wushuang’s face. ’As long as this creature has yielded once,’ he thought, ’I’ll have plenty of ways to keep it in line in the future!’

With that, Ye Wushuang left the ninth floor and returned to the eighth.

Gazing at Elder Ouyang’s corpse, a cold sneer spread across his face. Who would have ever thought that an Elder at the True Essence Ninth Layer would be killed by him right here?
