The cold rebuke, wrapped in rolling sound waves, exploded like thunder by Ye Wushuang’s ears, causing his attack to falter for a moment.

Seizing the chance, Yuan Chong scrambled out from under Ye Wushuang’s massive saber, gasping for breath and drenched in the sweat of someone who had just escaped death’s door.

Ye Wushuang whipped his head around to see Anx Shijie staring down at him from the top of the pass wall.

’It’s that old dog, Anx Shijie!’ Ye Wushuang’s heart sank. He immediately sneered, "I don’t know if your eyes are on the back of your head or growing out of your ass, Elder Anx. You didn’t see Yuan Chong’s pathetic attempt to kill me, but when I fight back, you accuse me of a sneak attack? How ridiculous!"

"You bastard! How dare you insult an Elder! You’re courting death!" A cold glint flashed in Anx Shijie’s eyes as a vast aura surged down from the pass wall. He was determined to kill Ye Wushuang here today.

Ye Wushuang’s eyes turned icy. He unleashed a formidable Dragon Power from within his body, pushing back against Anx Shijie’s aura.

Seeing this, Yuan Chong scrambled up from the ground with a sinister grin. "So what if you’re strong, Ye Wushuang? In the end, you still can’t kill me! Now die!"

With Anx Shijie keeping Ye Wushuang occupied, Yuan Chong had time to escape.

But he didn’t flee. Instead, he chose to launch another sneak attack, brandishing his cyan Spirit Sword as he charged through the air at Ye Wushuang. He would not rest until he had sliced Ye Wushuang in two.

Now, it was clear for all to see who was truly the one launching a sneak attack.

Yet, in Anx Shijie’s eyes, it was as if he hadn’t seen Yuan Chong’s assault at all.

And when he, Ye Wushuang, retaliated, he was laughably labeled the aggressor. There was no point in arguing. Anx Shijie was simply targeting him.

’If that’s how it is, then why should I hold back?!’ A tremor ran through Ye Wushuang’s body. He lifted his massive saber and cut through the air, cleaving down toward Yuan Chong at high speed.

The cold, glittering light of the blade magnified in Yuan Chong’s pupils, and an intense killing intent instantly enveloped his heart.

"No!"

Terror seized Yuan Chong. He let out a hoarse shriek, abandoning his attack and retreating wildly.

But the blade’s light was like the reaper’s scythe, slashing down relentlessly. The vast Saber Gang surrounded him, leaving no path for escape.

"Spare me this once!" Yuan Chong begged.

In that moment, he was filled with regret.

He could have escaped earlier, but he chose to attack Ye Wushuang instead. He had thrown away his own chance to flee. ’How could Ye Wushuang possibly spare me now?!’

The flash of the blade vanished as quickly as it appeared. Yuan Chong didn’t even have time to scream before his body was torn in two. Ye Wushuang drew his remains into the Dragon Blood Divine Cauldron, refining them into a single, pure Essence Pill.

"You bastard! How dare you kill a fellow disciple in front of this Elder! Your crimes are punishable by death a thousand times over!"

Seeing his opportunity, a flash of delight crossed Anx Shijie’s face. As long as he could pin the crime of killing a disciple on Ye Wushuang, he could execute him on the spot.

’With my status as the Law Enforcement Elder,’ he thought, ’who would dare to stand up for Ye Wushuang? To do so would be to offend me. Ye Wushuang is dead either way!’

’What a shameless old dog!’ Ye Wushuang raged internally. Yuan Chong had tried to kill him time and again, and Anx Shijie acted as if he were blind. "Elder Anx, if you dare to kill Brother Ye, my senior sister will not let you off!" Seeing Anx Shijie disregard his status and attack, Yangg Qing’er’s pretty face changed, and she immediately shouted out.

She had hoped to use Dii Qingxue’s name to intimidate Anx Shijie.

However, Yangg Qing’er had underestimated Anx Shijie’s murderous resolve. His gaze turned sinister. "If that’s the case, then you can just die along with him."

With that, a massive Palm Seal began to condense in the air, its terrifying Killing Power sending a chill down one’s spine.

But before the Palm Seal could fully form, a sudden change occurred.

The sheer force of the vast Demon Power shattered the Palm Seal that Anx Shijie had been forming.

The ground trembled as if it were about to collapse, and the expression on everyone’s face changed drastically.

"It’s level seven and eight Demon Beasts! There are several of them! Everyone, fall back!"

The disciples still out hunting cried out in terror and retreated toward the pass wall.

Level seven and eight Demon Beasts were comparable to a Spiritual Spring Powerhouse, powerful enough to annihilate them all.

Anx Shijie’s face paled as well. Watching the pillars of light shoot toward him, he too retreated with haste. There were at least three or four level seven or eight Demon Beasts in the distance. Even he was in mortal danger.

The cold sneer on Anx Shijie’s face widened. He bellowed, "Close the gate!"

Just as Yangg Qing’er’s body made it inside the walls, the great gate was forced shut with immense power!

’Ye Wushuang is done for!’ Some disciples who knew he had offended Anx Shijie mourned him in their hearts. This was the consequence of offending an Elder!

The other Elders on the wall did nothing. If they were to interfere with Anx Shijie’s kill, wouldn’t they be offending him? If he were to get some leverage on them in the future, would their lives still be their own?
