As Ye Wushuang took that step, the corner of his mouth suddenly curved into a smirk. Then, his figure vanished from thin air.

The Undying Creature, braced and on full defense, was momentarily stunned. Luo Xuan, whose attack had just lost its target, was stunned as well.

Suddenly, a figure burst from the void directly above Luo Xuan’s head. A blood-red saber gleam, like an apocalyptic blood moon plummeting from the sky, slashed down toward Luo Xuan at blinding speed.

A sudden sense of crisis jolted Luo Xuan to his senses. He looked up to see Ye Wushuang above him, his face a mask of shock and fury. A sea of fire erupted upward, attempting to block the saber’s descent.

To his astonishment, the Burning Power of his sea of fire was no match for the might of the saber gleam. It was cleaved in two down the center, and the attack struck his body.

AH!

A blood-curdling scream drew everyone’s attention. They turned to see the situation in the sky had dramatically changed.

Luo Xuan’s body was plummeting from the sky like a fireball.

Ye Wushuang sneered as he brought a foot down from above, stomping viciously onto Luo Xuan’s falling body and driving him down from the sky.

BOOM! The force of the impact drove Luo Xuan straight into the ground. The resulting shockwave blasted away the surrounding dirt, sending it flying in all directions and leaving behind a massive crater.

Blood poured from Luo Xuan’s mouth as he stared up at Ye Wushuang in terror.

"A mere True Essence Seventh Layer, and you’re this pathetic? You wanted to kill me? Garbage!!!" Ye Wushuang sneered, throwing Luo Xuan’s earlier taunts back in his face.

"Don’t kill me, Ye Wushuang! For the sake of us both being from Blood Jade City, spare my life!" Luo Xuan pleaded, his voice breaking. But even as he begged, he was secretly gathering a ball of energy in one palm for a sudden attack.

PFFT!

The Dragon Blood Battle Saber swung in a half-arc. In one swift motion, Luo Xuan’s hand was lopped off, and the attack he had been building dissipated into nothing.

"You’re still trying to kill me *now*? And you have the fucking nerve to beg me to spare your life?!" Ye Wushuang’s face was an icy mask as he stomped his foot down.

CRUNCH! Luo Xuan’s head was stomped deep into the earth. He couldn’t be any more dead.

The Undying Creature swooped down to attack, its long spear descending like a pillar of light, striking sparks against the air as it aimed for Ye Wushuang’s head.

With a flicker, Ye Wushuang’s figure retreated several hundred feet.

RUMBLE! The spot where he had just stood erupted, and Luo Xuan’s corpse was obliterated into a bloody mist, not even a bone fragment left behind.
