The short distance of a hundred li took Ye Wushuang a full half an hour to cross.

Ye Wushuang now stood at the foot of Flame Mountain. Flame Power raged through the air, burning the entire mountain a fiery, incandescent red.

However, Ye Wushuang was unaware that several miles away, a group of people sat cross-legged.

This group wasn’t afraid of the flames; on the contrary, they were bathed in them. Their bodies shone with a brilliant light as if they were practicing some fearsome Cultivation Technique, and they radiated a terrifying, violent energy.

These were the disciples of the Fiery Sun Sect.

This location marked the absolute limit of what they could endure, which also made it the best place for them to practice their Fire Element Techniques. As they cultivated, they were also waiting for their senior brother, Yang Dingtian!

"I wonder if Senior Brother has found it yet?" one of them, a woman with a fiery figure, murmured as she gazed toward Flame Mountain.

Beside her was another person: Luo Xuan.

The two were now incredibly powerful, having both broken through to the True Essence Seventh Layer. Within the Fiery Sun Sect, they were considered prominent figures.

Of course, this was all thanks to Luo Yunjiao.

After returning to the Sect from Blood Jade City, she had caught the eye of the Sect’s strongest disciple, Yang Dingtian. She became his woman, and as a result, had obtained a great deal of resources, allowing her to break through so quickly.

Hearing this, everyone turned to look. Sure enough, they saw a figure approaching the foot of Flame Mountain, reaching it in just a few moments.

Everyone thought it was an illusion, but when they probed with their Divine Sense, they discovered it was indeed a person.

This made everyone frown.

Aside from their senior brother who had already entered Flame Mountain, they had True Essence Eighth Layer experts among them. "Who is that?" a disciple at the True Essence Eighth Layer asked, abruptly standing up. He stared at the distant figure, which had not yet disappeared, his eyes flickering. This disciple’s name was Huo Zheng.

"I don’t know. He doesn’t look like a disciple of our Fiery Sun Sect," another disciple responded. His name was Wenhao, and he too was a genius at the True Essence Eighth Layer.

"That silhouette... it’s so familiar," Luo Yunjiao suddenly murmured, her brow furrowed. The white-robed figure looked just like *him*.

"It’s him!" Luo Xuan cried out after a moment of observation.

"You know him?" Huo Zheng and Wenhao asked, turning their heads.

"If I’m not mistaken, that’s Ye Wushuang," Luo Xuan said through gritted teeth. "I’d never forget that silhouette."

"Ye Wushuang? Impossible!" someone immediately retorted. "I saw him in front of the Earth Palace. He might be strong, but he’s just a piece of trash at the True Essence Third Layer. How could he possibly surpass us and set foot on Flame Mountain?"

"Exactly! We’re at the True Essence Seventh Layer and we can’t go any further. What makes him so special?" many others chimed in, clearly skeptical.

At this, even Luo Xuan and Luo Yunjiao began to have their doubts. After all, everyone had a point.

"Don’t worry. Senior Brother has already gone up. No matter who that is, he can’t cause any trouble," one of the Fiery Sun Sect disciples said, unconcerned. Their strongest disciple, a Spiritual Spring Realm expert, could instantly kill over ninety-nine percent of the people in the Earth Palace.

Ye Wushuang reached the foot of the mountain and hesitated for only a moment before starting his ascent up Flame Mountain. It was like walking on fire itself. SIZZLE! SIZZLE! The sound came from under his feet. Even with his Pseudo-Treasure Body, the searing pain was hard to endure.

After entering Flame Mountain and walking for some time, Ye Wushuang came to a stop.

Looking closely, he saw two ravines leading up toward the summit. The rest of the way was blocked by sheer cliffs, upon which were carved mysterious characters in an Ancient Seal script.

From a distance, the characters looked like flames inlaid upon the cliffs. Up close, however, they emanated the profound aura of the Great Dao.

Dao Marks flowed within them, and the Power of Dao Rhythm was so dense it was almost tangible—even richer than in the Enlightenment Land of the Giant Spirit Race.

’Could this be Holy Text?’

Ye Wushuang guessed. Only those at the Nirvana Realm, or the Great Saints and Sages of legend—whose very existence was a matter of debate—could interact with something as profound as the "Dao."

This kind of Holy Text, imbued with Dao Charm, offered heaven-defying benefits to Cultivators. Ye Wushuang was thrilled at the sight.

Just then, however, a figure to his right stood up, took a few steps, and then sat down cross-legged once more.

The person was bathed in flames, their face obscured, but the unmistakable aura of the Spiritual Spring Realm revealed their identity: Yang Dingtian!

After comprehending one piece of Holy Text, he would stand, look up toward the summit as if drawn by something there, and then retract his gaze and sit down cross-legged again.

Watching his movements, Ye Wushuang vaguely understood that Yang Dingtian was using the Holy Text for his cultivation.

He stepped into the other ravine and started upward. As his body drew near one of the Holy Texts, a terrifying pressure descended upon him, like a great mountain pressing on his shoulders, rendering him immobile.
