Elara’s POV

Alistair pressed his palm against his face. How did he get so fortunate?

Thank goodness I had a weakness for attractive faces; otherwise, he probably wouldn’t have had a shot.

I channeled my wood power, watching the strawberry vines expand rapidly. Berries grew from tiny white buds to egg-sized red fruit right in front of us, leaving Alistair completely speechless.

He looked amazed but troubled at the same time. My abilities are too extraordinary. If anyone finds out, I’ll become an instant target!

I could sense his concern. Pulling him down to crouch next to me, I whispered, "Stop worrying unnecessarily. I have all of you protecting me. Nothing scares me."

In my previous life, my powers were mainly supportive, lacking real combat strength. But now everything had changed. My abilities could eliminate a commander surrounded by his entire battalion—especially my water power. Level 2 was Water Weave, and that was just the beginning.

What I really wanted to tell him was, "Just chill and back me up. You may be powerful, but I’m no pushover either!" If push came to shove, I’d battle my way to the summit and claim the throne myself.

When people left me alone, I was all sweetness and light. But mess with me, and that sweetness became deadly. I’d destroy anyone who dared challenge me.

"I won’t worry unnecessarily," Alistair replied.

I knew he wanted to keep me safe.

Since I had delivered pastries that morning, lunch got delayed a bit. Alistair mentioned he’d already handled the deliveries I’d missed.

For the next while, Alistair and I split one of the big garden plots down the middle.

"Let’s plant some water spinach. I’ve got seeds," I said, fishing out a packet. "Just spread these around."

Then I divided the remaining half into sections—one for scallions, one for ginger. We had tons of meat but lacked aromatics. Fortunately, we had adequate spices, though too much would make my tongue go numb. I’d been meaning to solve that problem.

The ginger required raised beds, firmly packed. Even with my wood power, I couldn’t skip the proper steps.

Seeing mealtime approaching, I sent Alistair toward the kitchen while I concentrated on preparing the ginger beds. I didn’t plant much. After all, I’d be taking everyone away from here soon, so we only needed enough for immediate consumption. With that in mind, I split the scallion section again and added some chili peppers.

My spatial pouch was like an endless container. I’d sort it out properly once we all escaped...

I harvested another large bowl of fresh strawberries. Dorian had been mumbling about them in his sleep last night, his tiny mouth moving. Thinking about how cute Dorian was, I selected only the largest berries.

Dorian is still developing. He deserves special attention, right?

When mealtime arrived, I wheeled the food cart Alistair had prepared into the ward section. But today, something felt... wrong.

I raised an eyebrow and pulled a solid-looking brick from my pocket...

Talk first. If that fails, then I’ll settle things by force.

I was going to discover who was stirring up trouble!

My first destination was Chamber One, where Kaelen was housed.

I looked up. The little dragon was perched on the high beam. Normally, when he spotted me, he’d come racing over like an eager puppy. Now he held his head up, glaring down at me, proud and irritated.

"Come down here," I commanded.

Kaelen remained silent.

I could sense his frustration. He clearly looked like he was still mad. That rabbit has no business! He doesn’t get to go first!

The thought made Kaelen even more furious.

"You think I’ll come down just because you demand it?" he shot back. "What am I to you? A pet? You cuddle me when you find me adorable, then dump me when you get a shiny new plaything? I refuse to come down!"

He didn’t sound entirely confident, especially that last bit, which came out somewhat wounded.

It was clear Kaelen just wanted comfort.

I set the brick down. It suddenly clicked—the first few didn’t realize they were all my husbands. Kaelen wasn’t truly angry about what he’d said. He was furious because he believed he was the only one who belonged to me and I’d been with someone else. He felt... betrayed.

I was dying from laughter inside. To prevent myself from bursting out loud, I quickly looked down, my shoulders trembling slightly, as I placed the lunch by the delivery slot.

From above, Kaelen thought I was weeping. His anger disappeared instantly. He spread his wings and swooped down from his perch.

"Hey, don’t cry. I’m down, see? Elara, look at me. I’m really down. Huh?"

I grabbed his dragon head and pressed a kiss right between his eyes. His slit pupils widened in shock, then melted... 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The control panel announced, "Chamber One, Kaelen. Spirit collapse level decreased by 3 points. Current spirit collapse level 67."

"Elara?" Kaelen’s voice went soft. He rubbed his head against my cheek, eyes squeezed shut.

I straightened up, creating some space between us, a brilliant smile spreading across my face. "You’re precious when you behave. Looks like I won’t need what I brought after all."
