Elara’s POV

It felt genuine—warm, tender, and somehow aching.

"Still jealous?" I whispered, sprawled across him with a teasing grin.

He didn’t bother with words. Instead, Silas’s mouth crashed against mine with desperate hunger. Rolling us over, he pinned me beneath him. "It’s you. You’re mine, Elara."

His teeth grazed my throat, electric and possessive. I’d crawled through that hatch for him. Worth every second.

The intercom crackled to life. "Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level decreased by 3 points..."

Silas’s breath was hot against my skin. "You’re not getting away now."

"Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level decreased by 3 points..."

With a snap of his fingers, Silas sealed us in with some kind of force field.

I blinked, startled.

"My power is Sovereign Territory. It repels any attack, traps sound inside, and can even manipulate time..." He’d used it before to break down rebellious subordinates.

"And that means...?" I arched an eyebrow.

Even half-crazed like this, Silas didn’t intimidate me one bit. If anything, I was intrigued. My gentle giant had claws after all.

Definitely my type.

Silas’s smile turned predatory as he closed the distance, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper. "So, Elara... there’s nowhere to run."

Heated, frantic kisses peppered my skin—tender initially, then wild and consuming.

"Did he kiss you? Right here?" His lips branded mine with wet heat.

"What about here?" That husky, almost sinister tone made my pulse race. His gaze flickered between tender devotion and pure madness as he marked my throat again and again.

He lifted me effortlessly, my legs wrapping around his waist as his possessive energy overwhelmed the room.

My internal voices started their usual debate.

Thought you said he wasn’t yours?

I decided to stop holding back. Any more of this and my lips would be swollen for days.

With a sharp whistle, vines erupted from nowhere and coiled tightly around Silas. I settled onto the couch, my plant magic pinning him firmly to the floor in front of me.

Damn, this angle... I can barely look. People really go all out.

Pitiful.

The vine wrapped around his throat like a collar. Combined with those fluffy ears, flushed cheeks, and dazed eyes, every detail sent heat racing through me.

"When did this begin?" I asked.

When exactly had he started wanting me?

Silas craned his neck to meet my gaze, his tongue darting across his lips hungrily. Complete clarity had returned to his eyes.

The intercom buzzed again. "Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level decreased by 2 points..."

Staring up at me as I leaned closer, pure bliss flooded his features.

He looked at me as if thinking his mate had just walked straight into his web.

Some dark, ravenous version of Silas was snarling beneath the surface—but outwardly, he remained sweet and compliant.

He nuzzled my palm, playing the perfect captive. "I’ve always belonged to you, my lady."

Flattering, eager, nothing like his usual composed, polished demeanor. The personality switch was seamless.

I bit back a smile.

Did he just fall into this trap too? I’m absolutely here for it.

Our eyes locked, each of us testing the other’s resolve.

"We don’t share a marriage bond," I pointed out. "How exactly do you belong to me?"

His teeth found my wrist in a gentle bite. "Everyone in this place belongs to you. But you keep pretending I don’t. Why won’t you acknowledge it? I might be spiritually damaged, but I’m not an idiot."

I could feel his desperate accusation—as if he believed his mate was right there, yet I was refusing to claim what was mine.

"Are you part dog or something?" I shook my hand. He’d bitten me before, too.

"Woof." He played submissive perfectly, but his stare burned with ownership.

I gaped at him in amazement.

How does he manage both sides at once? Shit. He’s got me completely off-balance.

"Tell me who else belongs to me besides the original five," I demanded.

Silas went rigid. He looked at me as if wondering whether I really had no clue.

He looked away, sulky but also somewhat relieved. "The one next door."

What?

"Impossible," I said. "The system only provided files on the first five. You and the guy next door came with nothing. You’re not bullshitting me?"

I crossed my arms, leaned back, and propped one leg over the other. Lifting his chin with my toe, I gazed down at him with playful authority.

The intercom crackled once more. "Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level decreased by 1 point..."

I rested my elbow on the sofa’s arm. "You’re not making this up just to get me to commit, are you?"

Silas’s attention fixed on the marks he’d left on my neck, his crimson pupils contracting and expanding wildly.
