Elara’s POV

I grew bolder, sliding my other hand through the bars too. Kaelen’s gaze fixed on my hands, and after the briefest hesitation, he surrendered completely. He stretched out along the gate, practically offering up his entire head.

I gripped his massive jaws and pried them open, peering inside. "Holy shit, your mouth is enormous."

His tongue flopped out.

I blinked in amazement. I didn’t give a damn how ridiculous this looked—I reached out and touched it gently, examining it with fascination.

Thick and glossy... Grill it with honey glaze, wrap it in lettuce leaves, and it would be incredible.

Kaelen had no clue what was running through my mind. He melted under my soft touch, his eyelids drooping until they drifted shut. Within moments, gentle snores echoed through the room.

I chuckled, got to my feet, and walked out of the ward.

Time for a nap!

Elara’s POV

After finishing lunch deliveries, I headed back to my dorm. I took a quick shower, threw on some comfortable clothes, and flopped onto my plush bed.

My room was packed with hideous dolls, just like the ones Kaelen had stashed away. I hadn’t grabbed his earlier because they weren’t ugly enough.

I always slept better clutching something. Drowsy, I shut my eyes and for the first time in ages, I actually started dreaming.

I dreamed I stepped into a room. The furniture looked familiar, especially that bean bag on the floor...

"Elara." A young guy with pale blue hair sat cross-legged on the carpet. He wore a loose cream-colored cotton sweater, a strip of skin visible at his neckline. His eyes were bright and warm. Usually, faces in dreams stayed blurry—but I could see his perfectly, every single detail.

He had a soft, pink-tinged face, a captivating blend of handsome and boyish. His gray-blue eyes sparkled like starlight. Even in simple clothes, he radiated quiet elegance, like he’d walked straight out of a legend.

He sat casually and beamed when he spotted me.

Dorian?

I startled, but the boy launched himself straight into my arms. Fluffy hair, flushed cheeks, arms wrapping tightly around me, he pouted and mumbled, "Elara, you’re so mean."

Huh?

So this is what the leopard looks like as a human? Does he really look this good?

Even in a dream, I stared in shock. "What did I do?"

"You know I just became an adult, but you gave me booze chocolates. My head’s spinning. Will you pet me?" As he spoke, a pair of soft beast ears sprouted on his head.

It was definitely Dorian.

Ancient texts mentioned the leopard could enter dreams.

He had eaten the liquor chocolates, gotten dizzy, and accidentally dragged me into his dream.

"Why won’t you pet me?" He blinked at me, burying his face against my chest with a pitiful whimper, his dewy eyes nuzzling against me.

I was completely frozen.

He’s too young—I can’t do this.

While Dorian’s dream unfolded, Liam showed up with the long-overdue supplies.

Patrol droid 007 welcomed him. Alistair was the first to spot the newcomer. He quickly shifted his attention and hacked into the system.

Since it was just a robot, Liam didn’t think twice about it. He only asked one simple question: whether the men inside would enjoy the food.

Alistair responded, "They are not picky. Plain boiled food is fine."

But in reality, ever since Elara arrived, their taste buds had been completely ruined. They used to survive on nutrient liquid—now they wouldn’t even look at it.

Baked tomatoes with cheese, pan-fried mushrooms, glazed ribs, charcoal grilled beef, all kinds of juices, and ravioli...

Just thinking about them made Alistair’s mouth water.

Elara was incredible. Ever since she showed up, he’d added a hundred extra crunches to his daily workout, terrified he’d lose his physique from all the amazing food.
