Elara’s POV

I really had zero shame, didn’t I? I probably didn’t even register him as male. Hell, I might not even see him as human at this point.

I flashed a thumbs up and grinned. "Seriously, you’ve got some serious talent!"

Something felt off about this room—like it was crackling with static electricity or something.

My face burned as much as my entire body did.

Talent for what exactly?

The other guys immediately tuned in again. This dinner kept delivering surprise after surprise!

Dorian sneakily glanced back, but all he caught was Elara handing that massive bouquet over to Finnian.

"She actually gave it to him?"

Holy shit!!!

Utensils clattered to the floor. One moment they were quietly seething, the next they all lost it collectively.

Gave what to whom?

Julian and Kaelen shared a confused look, both totally lost.

Dorian shot daggers at the white fox positioned diagonally from him. Barrett couldn’t make out what was happening and frantically shook his cage bars again.

The meal tasted incredible—stuff he’d never experienced before—but somehow his appetite had vanished completely.

Alistair retreated into his brooding darkness again, melting into the shadows while hissing quietly, his eyes dancing with mysterious emotions.

Silas, on the other hand, stayed completely relaxed.

He pushed his glasses up, a subtle grin tugging at his mouth. Just a simple thank-you gesture. Why were these idiots getting so bent out of shape?

Even as a destined mate, he wasn’t bothered. They were freaking out over nothing.

Finnian lit up with genuine surprise. His mate had actually thought of him this way?

The white fox did a happy little spin before grinning up at Elara. "Thanks, Elara. I absolutely love them. You really didn’t need to spend anything."

Elara’s POV

I blinked in confusion. Spend money? After that insanely expensive aircraft he’d given me, this was pocket change!

"I’m happy you like them."

I couldn’t swing an expensive return gift right now, but whatever I gave back, I had to reciprocate somehow—otherwise I’d never feel settled about it.

Watching the fox accept the flowers made me start humming contentedly. I could see his face soften with the gentlest smile, his gaze incredibly warm. He looked like he thought I was absolutely gorgeous when I smiled.

Really adorable, too.

The fox clutched that big bouquet tight, like his entire world was flooding back with color. The blooms looked stunning—all that soft pink. He looked like his vision was playing tricks, but those flowers in his arms seemed to remind him so much of me—vibrant, practically glowing with life.

He looked like he desperately, desperately wanted out of here.

Chamber Five remained completely dark. I stayed quiet, just portioned out the food and sent the robot in with it.

After that, I immediately made my way to Chamber Seven.

Alistair pressed himself deeper into the shadows. A quiet sigh drifted through the dark space.

In Chamber Seven, Silas was already positioned and waiting. The second I slipped inside, I nearly got a nosebleed.

Who gave that devious lop-eared rabbit permission to dress like that?

A sheer black shirt, unbuttoned just low enough to reveal a tantalizing V. That sexy Adam’s apple, flawless pale skin, a teasing hint of abs... and... well...

It was absolutely criminal.

I kept my eyes glued to the floor while dividing up the food, not trusting myself to look up. Seriously, were all these beastmen this devastatingly seductive?

My pulse hammered wildly, practically exploding in my chest.

Silas glanced down, his attention settling on my bright red ears. His smile grew deeper.

"The food looks somewhat different today..."

"Yeah, I grew it myself. You’re gonna love it."

This was exactly what they meant about beauty being distracting. One transparent shirt and my usually careful self just blurted out everything.

"You cultivated it yourself?"

Silas prompted gently.

"Mmhmm."

I swallowed hard, my gaze instinctively wandering. Silas radiated this cool, polished energy, spoke so softly, and had this incredibly youthful quality. But those thin-framed glasses combined with his provocative styling created this really intense contradiction.

So intense that my face felt like it was burning up.

As someone who’d never dated, my brain started glitching again. Maybe just one quick peek? They did look sort of pink, didn’t they?

The little angel lectured me. Show some dignity! Know what’s appropriate to stare at and what isn’t!

The little devil shot back immediately. Why not look? Why else would he dress like that except to tease? Check out that collar—it’s not like the buttons fell off. He keeps it open deliberately, probably to tempt me.

The internal argument concluded. The little devil claimed victory this time.

I gulped, drew in a steadying breath, then brazenly stared directly at Silas.

Definitely pink.

Shame there wasn’t a tail visible... wait?

Silas shifted sideways to grab his chair, and there it was—a fluffy white cotton ball of a tail materializing behind him.

"Ms. Sterling, thank you for the meal. I’m going to eat now." Silas nodded, his tone courteous and detached.

I shook my head, snapping back to reality just in time to cover my nose. Oh my god—this dangerous droopy-eared rabbit was honestly too perfect to handle.

Everyone carried heavy thoughts during this meal.

The instant Elara departed, Alistair’s voice cut through the silence.

"Kill the feed."

Signaling he had something important to discuss.

The others wordlessly understood and complied.

"General Kaelen!"

"On it."

With that, Kaelen forced his dragon head out through the food slot and released a swift blast of ice breath, freezing over the central surveillance camera.
