A whimper echoed through the air—jealousy had driven the beasts completely wild.

Barrett’s face was crimson red. He despised how effortlessly he could read me, but he kept staring at my retreating figure, completely smitten once again.

I could almost see the thought in his eyes: "My mate is truly unique. The air carries her sweet, fresh scent."

He glanced up and spotted my long leg dangling in midair. His eyes blazed as he watched my upper body wedged in the food slot. Without warning, his wolf ears and tail emerged against his control.

Barrett went rigid and hastily secured the towel around his waist.

The instant he made contact with me, his entire body sparked with electricity—exactly like when his spirit collapse level had dropped earlier.

But judging by how I’d behaved, I was all bark and no bite.

Barrett had been completely correct.

I was only brave in my thoughts—I had the ideas but lacked the courage, quick in my mind but slow to act. That explained why I’d scrambled away so frantically when I saw he was human and undressed.

I was halfway trapped in the hatch, squirming and writhing with everything I had. My cheeks burned bright red. I used every ounce of strength I possessed before finally yanking myself loose.

Alistair extended his hand to assist me, but I brushed him away. "I can handle it myself."

I worried I might snap the robot’s fragile arms.

"You terrified me!" Dorian wailed the moment I emerged.

I glanced up and flashed him a composed smile. "He deserved it. I couldn’t rest without giving him what he had coming."

Everyone exhaled quietly in relief.

Alistair pressed his hand to his mouth. He’d witnessed my wild streak before, but it had still been far too risky. Even in his robotic form, he couldn’t resist flicking my forehead. "That was reckless."

"Ouch," I grumbled.

"Barrett is an SSS-class beastman with an elevated spirit collapse level. You acted too impulsively," Alistair warned.

"He would never harm me," I stated with conviction. Alistair and the others went still.

I didn’t elaborate, simply passed him his meal. Our marriage bond shielded me—Barrett was incapable of laying a finger on me. That’s why I’d been bold enough to storm in.

Plus, I possessed Level 5 wood abilities. If Barrett had dared attack me, I would’ve demonstrated exactly how formidable I could be.

I had zero reason to worry.

To everyone else, these men were intimidating, powerful figures. To me, they were simply incredible, gorgeous guys.

Following the minor drama, I headed to Chamber Five. Alistair instantly withdrew his spiritual energy and returned to being the snake concealed beneath his blanket.

I clicked my tongue. Once the robot placed the food down, I departed.

Finnian was in a foul mood in Chamber Six. He’d intended to surprise his mate, but that wolf had stolen the spotlight.

He yanked the curtain closed and even switched off the lights in frustration.

He’d been overshadowed, and he despised it.

He’d also messed up his hair from worrying about me. He refused to show himself looking disheveled.

I didn’t dwell on it. Beasts had emotions too—let him pout. He wasn’t my husband anyway; it made no difference whether I saw him or not.

I spun around quickly.

My excitement radiated through every stride I took. Finnian stared in disbelief.

I just... walked away?

Silas positioned himself by the food slot, his attention settling on my ear, though I remained completely oblivious to the mark there at the time. He smiled tenderly, his expression seeming to say, "My girl, I hope you cherish my gift."

"Ms. Sterling, you entered Chamber Four earlier?" Silas inquired.

"He was gnawing on the bars—the noise was deafening. Did it frighten you?" I replied.

"Not at all. But my heart’s pounding so hard it feels ready to burst free," Silas said.

His penetrating, smoldering stare, combined with his flawless features, overwhelmed me. I looked down to distribute the food, but when I remembered the provocative outfit I’d purchased, my hand trembled, and I fumbled my spoon.

Oh god. He’s absolute danger.

I resolved firmly—I was going to claim him as mine.

Silas laughed and carried the food inside. His rabbit tail appeared behind him. I lifted my eyes.

The fox in the neighboring ward isn’t this seductive.

I drew in a sharp breath.
