Chapter 7: Sitting In The Top You Worry Of The Bottom Most

Chapter 7

"Now press the Chaos Shard onto your chest and try to feel it. If you can somehow make it react, you will automatically arrive in front of Life Palace. Then you should already know what you have to do afterwards." Anastasia stopped and sat on the bench. She had already told everything she knew. If after all of that Ashton couldn’t spark his Inner Bon then she would plot to make him no longer her royal retainer.

On the other hand, Butler Shen stood in his palace, guarding Ashton.

Calming his mind, Ashton took a deep breath. He pressed the Chaos Shard into his chest and began to feel it.

In just one second, Ashton didn’t expect the Chaos Shard to give him a reaction already, sinking into his chest. He was a bit surprised but not too much. ’It might be because of my Limitless Eyes. It is indeed a pair of divine eyes. Even the strongest genius of this world took three minutes to make the Chaos Shard react.

As Ashton’s consciousness slowly gathered before his Life Palace, the people around him were far from calm.

"How is this possible!? How can he make the Chaos Shard react so fast?" Anastasia shrieked, jumping up from her seating position.

Even Butler Shen was equally surprised. Faint tremors were echoing inside his heart. To Anastasia’s question, he could only stammer. "I...I do not know, Miss."

"Butler Shen, who had the fastest speed to make the Chaos Shard react?"

The Chaos Shard might be just a key to entering Life Palace but it was also an indicator of someone’s talent. In this world everyone can become a Ringer; everyone has the possibility of moving mountains, causing tsunamis, and changing weather, but not everyone has the same journey. Someone might be stuck at the Bronze Ring for their entire life, while others can reach the pinnacle in that same time frame. So to find out about this talent, the philosophers of the old discovered the faster someone can use the Chaos Shard to enter their Life Palace the better their talent would be.

"Miss, the fastest we know of is the recently rising star Gallaghar of the God Child of Saint Io. He was able to enter his Life Palace in five minutes. I have heard this boy is already at Gold Ring, Refinement 3, and he just celebrated his 19th birthday about two months ago. Many great beings are saying he has the possibility of even surpassing Saint Io. One in the span of eonic years of genius." Mentioning this person, Butler Shen let out a hint of jealousy.

Who didn’t have hot-blooded ambition when they were young. Who didn’t want to carry the glory of the world? The praise of the world?

After a moment of silence, Anastasia said with a hushed tone. "Then what should we call him? A Monster?"

She looked down at him this entire time, but what was the result? This peasant had a talent that could make even a genius of eonic years feel shame. However, she quickly shook her head, and her gaze became firm. ’So what if he is the strongest genius? He is still my royal retainer, and geniuses need resources far more than anyone. What can he do without us?’

Anastasia was right. Even with the greatest talent, if you do not have the resources to back you up, you might even fall behind an average genius. When someone’s talent is beyond human cognition, the powerhouses of this world don’t feel awe or respect; instead, fear. When someone you already know becomes your peer or even your senior, you feel worry, fear and jealousy. Gallaghar has Saint Io backing him up, resulting in him making this astonishing progress without much harm. While on the other hand, Ashton would get hunted down by everyone the moment he announces his talent to the world. So, he had to hide under Baron Krestic’s umbrella.

However, Ashton isn’t from this world, nor did he have to follow their rules.

He has the system and knows everything, so the only thing Ashton wanted from the bottom of his heart was to survive and see through the end of this story, finishing the final arc he was just reading.

At this moment, Ashton, whom everyone was thinking was standing bewildered. He was standing in the middle of the space, stars lighting and dimming from time to time. Before him was a book on a leather cover. A pen made of wood was tucked inside the small pocket. The white feather on its top fluttered without the help of any wind. Opening it, he could only see blank pages. No matter how much he flipped, he couldn’t see a single stroke of a letter.

Ashton was dumbfounded. "Wasn’t it said everyone had to complete the trial of Life Palace before arriving at the Inner Bon? So, how did I not have any Life Palace and directly arrive in front of my Inner Bon?"

"And why is my Inner Bon a book filled with blank pages?"

He was someone who had read most of the story and yet to know anyone who had no Life Palace.

Deciding to not think about it too hard and just attributing it to the Limitless Eyes, Ashton began to spark his Inner Bon.

However, how could he spark it?

"Book with blank pages... If I write skills, can I learn them immediately?" Ashton decided to give it a try. He took the pen and began to write the most overpowered skill he knew. However, when he wrote on the blank page, no words appeared.

"Is it because it is too powerful?" He once again wrote, but this time, the weakest skill he knew, and the result was no words appeared on the page.

"Do I have to write a story?" Looking at the thickness of the book, he felt it could contain an epic story.

So he decided to write the one that was epic in his heart—Sanctuary of Blemished Divines.

Yet, still no words appeared.

Ashton growled in annoyance as he felt what most people experienced in this world when they wanted to spark their Inner Bon.
