Chapter 14: Young Hearts Can’t Appreciate Beauty Silently

Chapter 14

Ironheart Academy, located at the east corner of Sunset City. It occupied one third of the east part of Sunset City, boasting its heritage and power.

It is the bastion of knowledge in this region. Every child from birth yearns to enroll here and mark their name in the annal of history.

The ancient knight Ironheart clears this land from the ravages of the Filth. For the future generation to never suffer like their ancestors, he decided to build an academy, which is now renowned throughout the kingdom for producing the finest warriors, scholars, knights, mages, lords, and guardians!

The Ironheart family, later joining the Superbia house, solidified their position in the hearts of millions of commoners and royalty. Granting the head of the Ironheart family the position of duke.

Because ancestor Ironheart rose from the commoners themselves, he has banned any kind of division. In his academy everyone has only one identity, and that is of a student.

In front of the Ironheart Academy building, or castle, to speak of, a massive field that stretches towards the city walls, thousands of students were lining up and taking a Chaos Shard from instructors.

The first round of the test was sparking your Inner Bon. So, children with no financial power or strength have the chance to compete on the same level as others. But there is a prerequisite. You have one day’s worth of time to spark your Inner Bon and if you are unable to do so, you are disqualified.

As for the second round, also the last round, they have to last more than thirty seconds against instructors or specially assigned combatants by the academy.

The ones who had already sparked their Inner Bons were waiting inside a side hall, and almost all of them were royals.

"Ahhh... I want to see what happened to that handsome guy. I hope everyone doesn’t beat him up to the point of ruining his face." Sitting on a bench, Anastasia pouted while grumbling to herself.

Ashton looked at this hopeless girl with pity. ’You should care about yourself first. If someone can scratch him a little, then I will eat noodles hanging upside down. Wait... something can happen now.’

Thinking of that girl beside Rias, Ashton accompanied Anastasia with her grumbling.

At that moment a boy was walking beside them. He glanced at Anastasia’s pouted face and halted in his footsteps. He quickly fixed his brown gelled hair and walked in front of Anastasia.

"Miss, is there anything troubling you? You can elaborate to me. I can tell you there is nothing I can solve in this kingdom."

His proclamation drew the attention of those nearby.

At first many didn’t recognize who it was that could make such a bold proclamation. But when they saw the insignia on his leather blazer and the golden shoulder pads, they exclaimed in awe.

"It’s Prince Drakon Foiliar, the son of Marquise Linkon Foiliar and the grand princess Mona Crux."

"What!? If his mother is Grand Princess Mona Crux, then his grandfather is the Emperor!"

"Why would someone with that background come here to study?"

Heated discussion occurred, gradually grabbing the attention of most of the people in the hall.

Anastasia was confused as to why someone would care about what was happening in her mind. However, the words from bystanders reached her ears. Her eyes widened in shock. She stood up and bowed slightly. "Greetings, Prince Drakon Foiliar. This one is Anastasia Superbia, daughter of Baron Krestic Superbia."

As Anastasia introduced it, it brought frowns to many people’s faces, some even having disgust.

"Huh? Her last name is Superbia. So, she is a commoner who was fortunate enough to enter Superbia House."

"How did a girl like her have the chance to grab Prince Drakon’s attention?"

"Heh, we will find out. After the emperor introduced the house system, these commoners got the chance to set foot on equal ground with us. Tarnishing the status we have."

Anastasia heard these heart-twisting words, but she kept her calm, not getting swayed very easily. Her father has warned her about this many times, so she was mentally prepared.

Drakon was also surprised but only stopped at that. He nodded his head and said it. "Greetings, Miss Anastasia. I was strolling nearby to get familiar with everyone, but then I noticed you looked fairly troubled. On such a great occasion and from royalty, what can possibly make you worry? For you this enrollment test should be easy."

"Oh, it’s nothing. I was just curious about a pair of couples. They are somewhat unique, especially that boy. There is something about him that I can’t put my finger on." Maybe because she finally met someone who looked gentle and was asking for her well-being—unlike a certain someone—she blurted out everything in her mind.

"Oh, a boy," Drakon asked curiously. "Is he with us right now?"

"No, he is currently trying to pass the first."

Anastasia’s words brought sneers among many.

"Hmph, a commoner will always be a commoner."

"It is clear Prince Drakon is interested in her. How could she possibly utter the word of another man?"

"Hey, watch your mouth. Don’t try to incite a conflict for Prince Drakon."

However, Drakon still had his smiling face as if nothing could faze him. He nodded his head as if he understood everything. "I see. Well then, I am also a bit curious about this boy now."

"But first." Drakon looked to the left, gazing deeply at the man sitting quietly with a pensive look on his face. Throughout the entire time this man didn’t spare a glance at him as if he didn’t know about their existence. "Can I ask if you know this person?"

Anastasia also realised following Drakon’s gaze. She nudged Ashton’s shoulder and whispered. "Hey, wake up, idiot. Prince Drakon is here!"

Ashton dispelled his pensiveness and expressionlessly looked up to Drakon’s face that was as still as calm water. He stood up and bowed slightly. "Forgive me, Prince Drakon. I was just sharing the burden of Miss Anastasia’s worries. As a person of your magnitude, I hope you don’t take it to heart."
