"Why... are you... not resting..." Blood Curled Nurse tilted her head, questioning Ashton slowly.

At that moment, Ashton took out a knife from the system and threw it at her.

Blood Curled Nurse tilted her head instinctively, dodging the knife. She spoke, filled with anger. "You... are...ill..."

’Tch, she really is fast.’ Ashton clicked his tongue, glaring at the Blood Curled Nurse.

All of a sudden, Blood Curled Nurse vanished before Ashton’s eyes while still being under Limitless Eyes’ radar. He could see her approaching him, but he didn’t have the speed to react. ’Not this again.’

Suddenly, Blood Curled Nurse stopped in her tracks and leaped to her left side. At her place, a short sword swung, missing her neck.

"Missed?" Lovia was surprised yet not so much. She was just frustrated that her attack failed.

The Blood Curled Nurse this time stood in her place, cautiously gazing at Lovia. Alongside her was Ashton, as he was also surprised by Lovia’s sudden attack. His Limitless Eyes, on which he was so reliant, failed to notice Lovia suddenly appearing behind Blood Curled Nurse.

"Do nothing. We will enter the staring contest she set." Ashton stood in front of Lovia, covering half of her body from the Blood Curled Nurse. "Let’s stall as much as possible for Rias and Anastasia to finish their side of the job. Our only hope of killing her is if we band together."

Lovia looked at Rias’s and Anastasia’s direction. She saw they still had five or six Baby Holders to kill. "Yes, let’s wait. With their new-grown strength we ha—"

Lovia’s words cut short when she saw Ashton blocking the Blood Curled Nurse’s scalpel thrust with the flat side of his sword.

"Don’t look away from her! Stare at her face!" Ashton shouted, gritting teeth. The moment Lovia looked away, the Blood Curled Nurse rushed as fast as possible, wanting to kill Lovia first.

’Fuck! The sword will block if I take one more strike from her.’ Ashton cursed as he saw tiny cracks appearing on his sword.

Ashton kicked the Blood Curled Nurse’s attack and created distance between them. However, this time, she was relentless.

As the Blood Curled Nurse saw them backing away, she raised her left arm, and from it, multiple needles shot at them.

’Shield!’ Ashton raised his right hand, a shield materializing along with his shout.

A rectangle-shaped flat shield blocked the needles, making many dents on its steel body.

Ashton has bought many items with the money given by Krestic. He knew he wasn’t some legendary son of luck who could overcome any challenge. He has to utilize his knowledge to make himself go forward, and so this shield was one of the counters he brought for the Blood Curled Nurse.

After all the needles got blocked by the shield, he stored the shield along with the needles stuck to it.

The Blood Curled Nurse stopped in her tracks, twitching nonstop.

The Blood Curled Nurse has two strong means of ability on both of her phases. First being the needles that she could shoot and retract back with her blood. Now, Ashton has completely deleted that ability from her.

Blood Curled Nurse’s needles were too much for a beginner as they didn’t have strong means of neutralizing them. If the protagonist group didn’t appear first to clear her, then most of the rookies would have died; most have to make it here in the first place.

’But... now her second ability, which is somewhat manageable.’ Ashton wiped away his smirk and steadied himself.
