Chapter 15: Don’t Interrupt Someone Thinking Too Deeply

Chapter 15

Drakon pressed Ashton’s shoulder, making him straighten his body. "It’s fine. To be able to share worries with one another, are you two close?"

"Not close. I am Miss Anastasia’s royal retainer." Ashton corrected him quickly for avoiding any misunderstanding.

"Miss Anastasia’s royal retainer? It is rare to see a royal retainer so close to their master." Drakon had seen many royal retainers, especially his father’s and mother’s. They were always devoid of emotion, nothing like a normal human being.

"Prince Drakon, it’s nothing special. If you don’t know your master, then how will you protect them and deliver their needs? We are an extension of our master’s body; only by synchronizing with them properly can we understand them. If not, what makes the difference between us and random foot soldiers?" Ashton’s flawless reasoning made Drakon dumbstruck and even somewhat mesmerized.

How could Drakon have expected a royal retainer who looks like a farmer would give such a thorough answer?

However, it also made a flashback of someone he knew, resulting in his heart shuddering.

’No, no, how can both be the same? They are worlds apart from each other. I am just overthinking. After all, this man is not from a royal background.’ Drakon quickly denied his conjecture. He deeply watched Anastasia’s beauty for a little before sparing a glance at Ashton. "You are right. It is rare for someone to have a mind like this. You have enlightened me today. So, as Miss Anastasia’s greatest fortune, be sure to live up to her expectations and properly protect her."

Without letting them speak, Drakon left with a hooded figure behind him.

Anastasia and Ashton both bowed toward Drakon’s leaving figure and spoke simultaneously. "Thank you for your presence, Prince Drakon Foiliar."

As Ashton watched Drakon’s leaving figure, he sneered inwardly. ’Who are you giving silent threats to, you stupid villain? Dare to interrupt my train of thought crash! The perfect plan that I was enlightened to! I wanted to have the protagonist give you a quick death in the future, but if you keep pestering, then I don’t mind giving you a gruesome one.’

Yes, Drakon Foiliar was also a major villain like Krestic, but it was for a future arc. His stage hasn’t been set yet!

Ashton then glanced at Anastasia to his left and met with her angry face. Expressionless, he asked. "What is it?"

Anastasia moved her eyes to their surroundings. Ashton instantly knew what she wanted. He looked at the people that still remained, wanting to extract more about their information. "Please forgive us, but can you leave us alone? My miss is about to give me some private orders. It is not advised to eavesdrop on something like this."

The crowd also wanted to leave, so they complied with him. But if they could remain and listen to them, they would have stayed, as this place was the epitome of boredom.

Who would want to stay at a single place for an entire day?

After seeing no one was left paying close attention to them, they began to converse in their usual tone.

Anasatasia whispered softly. "You idiot. Can you at least be aware of your surroundings? Do you even care about me? Do you even know what your job is?"

"What do you mean, ’what my job is’? Are you really scared that something will happen to you inside Ironheart Academy and in a place mostly filled with royals? I would be shocked to death if someone had the courage to even think about it." Ashton said this with great confidence; he himself knew that wasn’t in the realm of possibility but something that would happen in the future!

Anastasia thought to herself and felt that Ashton was right, but she questioned him. "That doesn’t take away from the fact that you are unaware of my surroundings. Prince Drakon, grandchild of the emperor, has spared his presence, but you were so nonchalant, and you even did your signature knowledge impartation! I do not know how my father found you."

Ashton shook his head in dismay. "You do not appreciate my art of knowledge impartation. When you grow old, then you will understand what valuable knowledge this Ashton spoke of!"

Extreme disgust on her face, Anastasia spoke. "Okay, okay, stop. Forget everything. Have you found where we set up our tent? I don’t want anyone near my tent except for a handsome prince, of course."

"Oh, about that." Ashton patted his chest and spoke with great confidence. "You don’t have to worry. I have already found the best for you. You will thank my forefathers for giving birth to me when you see it."

"Really?" Anastasia became a bit skeptical as she had never seen him speak with this much confidence.

"Of course." As Ashton reassured, a commotion broke out near the entrance. Gazing at the small group that entered the hall, he mumbled softly. "The answer is here."

This small group of four was the first batch that completed the first test, sparking their Inner Bon and it was under five hours!

Among this group are our protagonist Rias Theros and the invader female lead, who is still close to him. Four of them being in the same batch doesn’t mean they all sparked their Inner Bon at the same time.

And in the first place was, of course, our dazzling protagonist Rias Theros, who sparked his Inner Bon in an astonishing time of under one hour and had the Chaos Shard react in three seconds!

Rias only came in so late because he was waiting for the invader female lead!

Rias bowed his head slightly to everyone before taking the invader female lead to an inconspicuous corner.

Pulling out a large piece of cloth, they both sat down, resting and chatting from time to time.

Ashton grabbed Anastasia’s arm and spoke with great enthusiasm. "Come fast or someone might take our position!"

They both hurried to snatch the spot next to the protagonist’s!
