Chapter 16: A Liar’s Truth Is The Sharpest Tool To Kill Him

Chapter 16

"Hey, can you guys go to another spot? And if you are really choosing to stay here, at least keep a distance! Why are you so close to us!" The invader female lead shrieked at Ashton and Anastasia.

Who knew? When these two set up their tent near them, its entrance facing her. Most of the time they would just watch them and whisper to themselves.

Ashton waved his hand like a sweet auntie next door. "Nothing, nothing. We just didn’t expect two shameless youngsters to be next to us. We can’t help but watch."

Anastasia nodded at her, surprisingly agreeing with Ashton.

Meanwhile, Rias’s and the invader’s female leads’ faces darkened. They have never seen such unruly people before. Always sticking their noses in their business.

"Sorry, but we didn’t introduce ourselves. This is my miss, Anastasia Superbia, daughter of Baron Krestic Superbia, and I am Ashton, this miss’s royal retainer." Ashton laughed to himself, rubbing his back. "And you two?"

Dissatisfied with Ashton and Anastasia heavily, the invader female lead didn’t speak a word, but Rias, as a self-righteous man, spoke. "I am Rias Theros, and this is my friend Lovia. We are both from a remote mountainous village."

"Oh, you two grew up together?" Ashton was elated to get information related to this girl. ’As expected of the protagonist I always look up to. He would never disappoint me.’

"Ummm no. Three months ago some of the hunters in our village found Lovia by the riverbank. After she woke up, she said she didn’t remember anything except her name. So, to find who she is, she came with me." Rias looked at the angry Lovia with a hint of pity.

"I see." While Ashton got a hit with realization. ’There is no one named Lovia in the book and no washed-up girl by the river. Just as expected, she is also like me, a fellow transmigrator. But I do not know how many more transmigrators there are. I just hope they don’t change the plot too much.’

Lovia looked at Ashton, frowning to herself. ’I don’t remember anyone being Anastasia’s royal retainer. Wasn’t it originally Rias’s spot? What happened here? Did my existence cause some plotlines to change?’

Lovia, an office worker, was reading her new favorite book—Sanctuary of Blemished Divines—on her phone. Smoking a cigarette and letting the cold wind graze her skin on the office rooftop, she was enjoying her break to its fullest. As she was reaching the climax of an arc, a blinding light hit her, making her unconscious. When she opened her eyes, she was inside a village in ancient clothes. But as she got familiar with others and learned their names, she became ecstatic.

Having the protagonist of her beloved book in front of her, how could she not become his female lead?

Thus, by clinging herself to Rias, she decided to become the first female lead!

Which girl can resist blonde-haired, blue-eyed guys?

Lovia had her mind occupied with Rias, so she didn’t care about her surroundings as her Prince Charming would blitz through everything, and she just cheered for him from the side. But now Ashton’s intrusion made her become alert.

As she was deep in her thoughts, Ashton suddenly spoke to her. "Miss Lovia, is there anything wrong?"

"Yes, it is, and it’s you guys! Can you guys leave us alone now?" Lovia said with great hostility.

"Oh, forgive me." Ashton shook with regret before softly speaking. "I wanted to ask if Tupac released new music yet."

Lovia froze for a moment before grabbing Ashton’s shoulder. "What did you say?"

"Uhh, I just wanted to know if Tupac released new music yet. Miss Lovia, perhaps that name jogged your muddy mind a little?" Ashton feigned ignorance while looking at Lovia with bewilderment.

Head down, Lovia tried her best to hide her shock in her eyes. ’He knows! He knows! He knows who I am! He is just like me!’

Lovia didn’t expect there would be someone else transmigrating beside her. This brought a whole new revelation to her.

"Lovia, do you know that name?" Rias also looked hopeful. If they could use the name as a clue, they might uncover Lovia’s past.

"I—" Lovia stuttered before speaking solemnly. "I just felt that name sounded familiar, and some blurry images were flashing in my mind. Rias, if you don’t mind, I want to speak with Ashton privately."

Rias was happy to comply without doubting anything. Anything that could help Lovia, he would support it unconditionally.

"Thank you."

Afterwards, Ashton and Lovia walked to a secluded spot without exchanging eye contact.

When they finally stood at the secluded place, they still remained silent.

Facing each other, Ashton just smirked, and Lovia glared. Both tested each other’s patience.

Unfortunately, Lovia, who was in the biggest blind spot, couldn’t remain patient. She wanted to know more than anyone.

"Tell me, what do you want?"

"Me? I just want to know if Tupac released new music yet." Ashton said, still containing the smirk on his face.

Lovia sneered, crossing her arms. "Cut the crap. You already know I am from Earth. So, as a fellow earthling, why beat around the bush when we can team up?"

"Hehehe... you are right. Why become enemies when we should be friends?" Ashton nodded his head, satisfied. ’I am surprised she would extend the hand for alliance first. But thinking about it carefully, it isn’t surprising. She is probably in the dark. Hugging the protagonist’s thighs, she neglected everything, and if she doesn’t have a system, then her difficulty is increased further.’

Ashton had decided to join hands with Lovia after seeing them in the morning. As a person who Rias trusts the most and might even grow affection for, he felt it was not advisable to separate them. He would become the protagonist’s enemy, which would completely disrupt everything. Instead, he should let her enjoy her spot as the female lead by joining hands with her.

She can watch over him and update Rias’s progression to him. This way he would be aware of any change.

But to make her agree with him, he had to bring out her weakness and what was better than her secret of being a transmigrator. If he spelled everything, the protagonist would distrust her and hate her, who has already lied about her past.
