Today was the enrollment day at Ironheart Academy.
Thousands of young boys and girls could be seen walking in the streets. From children of royalty to farmers. However, they both had varied expressions on their faces.
Children with royal backgrounds had confidence unbridled as if they were already studying in the Ironheart Academy while the children of lower backgrounds were tense. They looked nervous and had hunched backs.
Among this sea of youngsters, one pair was a bit different than others.
The boy has blonde hair with deep blue eyes and is tall in stature. His chin and nose are sharp with a cold gaze accompanying him. Despite wearing dirty and torn clothes, his beauty could not be hidden. He stuck out like a sore thumb in this sea of ordinary.
Clinging to his left arm was a girl reaching the height of the boy’s shoulder. She had black hair, swaying like a curtain. She had a round face with puffy cheeks, which rested on the boy’s left arm. She pressed her medium-sized breasts, showcasing the precious treasures before him.
However, the boy did not heed this girl beside him. He coldly asked. "Can you stop doing this in public? Can’t you see everyone is staring at us?"
For the first time, the girl glanced at her surroundings and found jealous gazes on them. Boys were jealous because of their luck for not finding a girlfriend like this, while the girls were jealous of how such a handsome man could let a nobody touch him wildly.
A smirk appeared on her face as she let the boy’s arm sink between the mountain peaks, harvesting overwhelming dissatisfaction from everyone.
The boy frowned before quickly leading the girl toward the academy as fast as possible. Hearts could be seen shaping in the girl’s eyes as she held onto the boy’s hand tightly.
Everyone gritted their teeth before also heading toward the academy. Both sides want to teach this pair respectfully.
And among this crowd were Anastasia and Ashton. Ironheart Academy didn’t distinguish between royalty and commoners except for a few exceptions. So, every aspiring student had to arrive on foot; no type of vehicle was allowed. So, Ashton and Anastasia both woke up early and were following the crowd. They stopped after this lovey-dovey duo, which made them curious.
Resulting in this harmless, non-important drama. However, we are talking about teens who are just enrolling in an academy. Any small stuff that makes them curious is a drama.
"Hey, let’s go too. I didn’t expect a boy to be as handsome as the princes from the capital." Anastasia walked forward but found no one beside her. She looked behind to see Ashton standing still, frowning to himself. She was surprised, as she had never seen him like this before. He has always appeared carefree and with a smile on his face.
"Hey, what’s wrong?" Anastasia asked curiously.
"Nothing." Ashton shook his head, not wanting to elaborate. "Let’s go or we might fall behind."
"Okay." Anastasia shrugged her shoulders and began heading towards the academy. She knew pressing Ashton about anything would have no result; it was best to mind her own business.
Meanwhile, as Ashton followed behind Anastasia, he pondered silently. Because the moment his eye was laid upon the blonde-haired boy with blue eyes, he was shocked, as that was the protagonist of the book! The one he always self-inserted himself into!
Rias Theros—The protagonist of Sanctuary of Blemished Divines. A boy who has escaped to the very corner of the world with the help of his parents. In the end they even gave their lives for him. He who has felt the loving warmth of his parents will kill those who stole them from him. Growing inside a village in the mountains, he had honed himself and was installed with great philosophical ideas by the village chief. Burying the raging hatred deep in the heart. Waiting and searching for a way to extinguish them, as he found no path that could grant him the power.
What can a boy growing in a village do?
However, fate had a plan for him or the author to speak. Going to the nearest town to sell and buy rations, he stumbled upon the world of Ringers. The beings who can move mountains and can change the emperor of a nation as they wish. This ignited his dormant hatred once more.
So, he bid goodbye to the village he loved dearly like his parents, he set foot to enter the most famous place that can teach one to become a Ringer the locals knew—Ironheart Academy.
Rias wanted to join the best of the best to exact his revenge as fast as possible.
At Sunset City, he met with Anastasia and successfully went into the academy and grew their budding love.
’But who is that girl beside him!? He was supposed to be here alone! I had made so many scenarios in my mind on how I could be Rias’s wingman only to see someone had already taken the female lead position in the first arc!’
Ashton looked at the giant castle—Ironheart Academy—with deep eyes. ’Who is ruining the story?’
Ashton now understood what the system was referring to. There might be people like him that don’t belong to this world or something has changed he transmigrated inside the book.
He now felt a headache. Only one person can massively change a story; if there are more people too, then it might become unrecognizable.
So, how hard will it be for him to maintain the story to be on the correct course of action?
’System, please tell me if slight changes are allowed.’
The system, which usually stayed silent, finally responded.
[ Don’t worry, host. Minor changes are allowed, but major plot points have to be maintained that have a significant impact on the protagonist’s journey. ]
[ Example: Rias killing Krestic with Anastasia’s help. ]
Hearing this, Ashton spoke with great difficulty. ’I will try my best, system. But I am doing so much for the protagonist just to reward him later with my own hands! System, is there any justice in this world?’
