The shadows of the trees were receding swiftly.

Char, with a bow in one hand and an arrow in the other, was sprinting frantically while occasionally turning back to fire an arrow that would explode an Undead creature each time.

At that moment, his skin faintly displayed a steel color, a sign that he had activated “Steel Skin” from the Wild Boar Dagger.

Although the team was still holding the advantage and managing to control the situation, as an archer, primarily high in attack but low in defense, he could easily be seriously wounded if he didn’t evade an Undead’s attack.

After all, given the multitude of Undead chasing, and the chaotic environment, even though Char was now a Level 3 archer, he wasn’t completely sure that he could evade every attack.

Betty’s little face was tense and panicked, her wings fluttering as she stuck close to Char’s ear, closely following him.

With its back facing forward and facing backward, the Clover Mantis zipped around like a green shadow. Every time a stream of emerald light passed, it signified an Undead, if not several, turning into shattered bones.

Although the Star Worm was of a lower level, it was not to be outdone, pushing itself to its limits by activating “Star Impact,” making the woods seem alight with countless golden fireflies.

Its killing power was weak, but its ability to disrupt was substantial.

With their well-coordinated efforts, no Undead could pose a threat to Char and the others for the time being.

Of course, this was mainly because the Undead that had initially given chase were not strong.

These Undead were mostly transformed from ordinary animals, and the vast majority had a challenge level of zero, disintegrating upon contact.

Not to mention the Clover Mantis, even an ordinary person, armed with a weapon or even a stick, could shatter quite a few.

However, not long afterwards, the strength of the Undead chasing them began to increase, causing Char’s complexion to grow increasingly grave.

Auson, short and stubby, moved swiftly through the forest, making sharp turns like a red mushroom crashing through the woods.

Arrow feathers flew like streaming fire through the trees, suddenly striking an Undead that resembled a tiger. As it passed, bones shattered and bone fragments flew, the soul fire within its massive eye sockets also flickering momentarily.

However, this Undead was much stronger than the previous Undead Bird, Undead Snake, and Undead Wolf, with a challenge level of 2, so even though it was wounded by Char’s shot, it did not die and continued to drag its broken body in pursuit of Char and the others.

But just then, around the arrow that had buried into the ground, fiery feathers suddenly fluttered out, spinning around like flying knives, and the next second, an explosion erupted violently.

Flames burst forth, the intense fire not only engulfing the Undead Tiger but also impacting the nearby Undead. The rising flames instantly soared out of the canopy, transforming into a fire bird about to take flight above the trees.

When the explosion’s force subsided and the Fire Bird dispersed, not only had the Undead Tiger turned into a cloud of scattered bones, but the other undead nearby also suffered heavy casualties.

That single arrow had eliminated at least seven or eight undead, such that the pursuing Undead Tide momentarily cleared a space.

However, there was no hint of joy on Char’s face.

The arrow he had just fired had appeared with the Fierce Feather Bow during his Prayer—it was a special arrow designed to complement the bow, and they were limited in number—one less with each use.

Based on his “Universal Arrow Skill” at Level 2 and using these specialty arrows, combined with the “Fierce Feathered Arrow” and “Fire Bird Power” Level 2 Skills, he could achieve such lethal power.

After acquiring the Fierce Feather Bow, his strength had surpassed most Level 3 adventurers, especially since most of them couldn’t obtain a piece of Bronze-level equipment.

It wasn’t surprising that he could perform so well in battle.

Indeed, the power of that arrow was astonishing and it looked impressive, but it also consumed a lot of energy—he had used up almost half of his stamina with a single arrow.

Char grew increasingly anxious inside and couldn’t help shouting loudly to Little Red Riding Hood, who was leading the way in front, “Auson! How much longer?”

Just as Char finished speaking, he saw Auson crashing straight into a green wall.

It was a wall composed of green vines.

The green vines were draped over the trees and grew lushly, forming a “green wall” that blocked the way.

Char was startled and was about to shout a warning when the green wall suddenly seemed to come alive, opening a small hole just as Little Red Riding Hood gracefully passed through, then swiftly closing again.

Without a second thought, Char followed Little Red Riding Hood’s lead and charged toward the Green Vine Wall. Just as they were about to collide, the wall quickly opened, allowing Char, Betty, Star Worm, and Clover Mantis to pass through before it abruptly closed again.

It was like a flash flood hitting a massive boulder, with the undead flood splitting at the Green Vine Wall and moving to either side. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Many of the fast-approaching undead couldn’t stop in time and crashed directly into the green wall, where the vines ensnared them. They struggled, but as wisp after wisp of pale blue soul fire was extracted from their bones, their efforts grew weaker and weaker.

The undead further back seemed to lose direction. Their prey was just behind this wall of green vines, merely a wall away, yet they had no clue.

What the undead failed to notice was not just Char and the others separated by a single wall but the entire Green Vine Wall itself!

This green wall encircled a circuit within the forest, enclosing an area the size of a courtyard. The undead, blocked by this land, had to reroute and were completely unaware of it.

As the vines absorbed the soul fire from the entrapped undead, that section of the vine wall became even more lush and vibrant.

Outside the vine wall, the undead, having lost track of Char and the others, searched nearby for a while before retreating like a tide.

This part of the forest had not yet been touched by the scent of death; the vibrant environment was very uncomfortable for the undead, who would not have ventured out of the Withered Land had they not been chasing Char, Betty, and Auson.

Within the Green Wall was a garden filled with the sounds of birds and the scent of flowers.
