Fantasy Lord: I Have a Moving Castle

This was after all something that took a long time for a Demon Beast of Challenge Level 7 to breed, its level was who knows how much higher than these mere ordinary crop seeds, and even just a tiny bit of it was very effective.

Watching the line of Water Frogs slowly shrinking in size as they moved forward, Char’s face involuntarily blossomed with an expression of anticipation.

In his eyes, this wasn’t just a piece of farmland; it was clearly a thread of Praying Power.

He was looking forward to the wheat, corn, and potatoes growing up quickly.

After that, neither Char nor Freyja sat around waiting for the Green Lotus Frog to finish watering, instead, they first took a bath, washing off the sweat and fatigue, put on clean clothes, and then rode on Frost Deer and Floral Blue Leopard, leaving the Green Lotus Frog, Fierce Sword Firefly, and Praying Light Sword at home to look after the house.

A deer and a leopard carried the people, galloping swiftly along the road.

The road was built by the people of the Florence Kingdom, but due to the Undead plague, not only was there no sign of life, but the road itself had been damaged, and traces of destruction could be seen everywhere, making it look like it had been abandoned for a long time.

The Undead wandering on the road were a fatal threat to ordinary people, but for Char and Freyja, they were not even considered as obstacles.

The Frost Deer didn’t even need to activate its skills, it could simply conjure a few icy ridges to blast away these obstructing Undead.

Soon after, the two of them approached this town built upon the mountains.

To call it a town is an understatement; it’s more of a fortress.

The entire town was surrounded by high walls that stretched from the foot of the mountain to its peak, occupying an entire hillside.

Within the fortress, the houses were built against the mountain, some were developed outside, and some were carved directly into the mountain to create rooms.

The multitude of houses were connected by winding mountain roads, which definitely looked easy to defend but hard to attack.

Even for the Undead, taking such a mountain city would not be easy unless there were enough in number or there was a sufficiently powerful Undead in command.

For example, a few Intermediate Undead from the Undead land of the Florence Forest, like the skeleton widow spider and other Intermediate Undead, if they were to come together, even if it’s just a few of them banding together, it’s very likely that this mountain city would not be able to withstand their assault.

The mountain city’s vigilance was still quite high, as Char and Freyja hadn’t gotten close before some folks riding wolves and leopards dropped in front of them.

Char’s gaze quickly swept over the few wolves and leopards.

[Introduction]: A commonly seen wolf in the forest, fierce and skilled in combat, adept at following the commands of the wolf king. When you are in enmity, a pack of Iron-Backed Wolves will be your nightmare, but if you manage to tame one, you will gain a warrior that is extremely loyal and brave. It will become an excellent companion.

[Introduction]: Like the Iron-Backed Wolf, the Cloud Leopard is another commonly seen Demon Beast in the forest. It can spit needle-like thunder from its mouth and exude a mist to hide its form while gaining a brief ability to fly. Although both are Demon Beasts of Challenge Level 3, an individual Cloud Leopard is somewhat stronger than the Iron-Backed Wolf. However, since Cloud Leopards are solitary creatures and Iron-Backed Wolves are pack animals, encounters between the two often end with the Cloud Leopard giving way.

Char’s gaze then shifted toward the riders on the backs of the Iron-Backed Wolves and Cloud Leopards, among them were Dwarves and Elves, a quick glance revealed that their levels were mostly between 3 and 4, with only the leading Dwarf reaching Level 5.

The Iron-Backed Wolf beneath him was clearly larger and more ferocious, with a Challenge Level reaching 4, but this Iron-Backed Wolf was not the king of its kind, just a stronger individual within the pack.

Such a small team, placed in a remote area like Pine Province, was already considered an elite squad, with considerable combat strength.

However, they were not impressive enough in front of Char.

The presence of the Frost Deer and Floral Blue Leopard made the Iron-Backed Wolf and Cloud Leopard blocking their path extremely wary, all the Demon Beasts entering a state of high alert, beneath which lay a deep-seated fear.

The Floral Blue Leopard fared a bit better. Although its strength was greater, the distance between them was not enough to induce despair, especially since Freyja, to conceal the fact that she was a Gale Ranger, had disguised the appearance and aura of the Floral Blue Leopard to some extent.

But the Frost Deer was different, with the power of the Frost Deer, a breath of Ice Frost exhaling could directly annihilate the entire opposing force, how could the Iron-Backed Wolf and Cloud Leopard not be extremely tense?

Compared to intelligent species like Dwarves and Elves, the instincts of a Demon Beast are often more accurate.

Our Fireplace Town has barely survived, so we have to be somewhat cautious, not intending to target you specifically." Perhaps feeling that Bruno’s words were too blunt, the Elf immediately spoke up to add another statement.

"Understood. We too have encountered quite a few Undead along our way. My name is Char, a traveling merchant, and this is my companion, Freyja. We’ve come to Fireplace Town hoping to rest and regroup." Char replied cheerfully, appearing very amiable.

He did not make up a name for Freyja because it was unnecessary. In the Elf Clan, there were too many female Elves named Freyja; just a name would not likely reveal that Freyja was once a "Burning Ring" Gale Ranger.

After all, it was uncertain whether the wanted notice issued by that usurper Elf King could even reach this place.

"I am Ryan, and this is our captain, Bruno Firecast."

Hearing Char claim to be a traveling merchant, Ryan couldn’t help but exchange glances with Bruno, their faces involuntarily brightening with joy.

Not just the two of them, but also the surprise flitted across the faces of the other Dwarves behind them.

Fireplace Town had been cut off from the outside world for too long. Although a certain amount of resources had been concentrated from the people moving into the town, after a long period of consumption, those resources had long been exhausted, and now Fireplace Town was in dire scarcity.

Deep Water City is the closest major city to Fireplace Town, a place of bustling commerce. Before transportation between the two was disrupted, Bruno often led teams to escort armor and weapons forged by their tribe for sale, and then buy back large quantities of food, cloth, daily necessities, and of course, the indispensable fine wine.
