Fantasy Lord: I Have a Moving Castle

Finally, the Wind Winged Horse exhausted its strength and descended.

The Thunder Night Dragon, the Fierce Sword Firefly, and the Clover Mantis also removed the ropes coiled around them, all showing signs of utter exhaustion.

It wasn’t just the treasured beasts that were exhausted; apart from Betty and Auson who had barely taken any action, everyone else appeared breathless and overextended.

Even the Night Helmeted Owl was no exception.

As a magical beast that dwelled nearby, it was only after being caught by Char that it realized the existence of such a perilous Land of Undead beside it.

Then, it wasn’t until today that it truly understood just how horrifying the Land of Undead could be.

If it hadn’t been with Char and the others today, it would have already fallen to the terrifying Undead Tide, despite its ability to fly—throughout the escape along the way in the carriage, it didn’t know how many magical beasts it had seen being engulfed by the Undead Tide.

Wherever the Undead Tide surged through, no creature could survive.

Just now, the Night Helmeted Owl even witnessed an Intermediate Magical Beast of Challenge Level 6 being overwhelmed by the Undead Tide; compared to other magical beasts, this Level 6 beast only caused a slightly larger "splash."

Only a situation like Char’s, where multiple Intermediate Magical Beasts cooperated and took advantage of flight, could there be a chance of survival.

In other words, if it hadn’t been captured by Char, it would definitely have died in this wave of the Undead Tide.

Even without this wave, it might have been killed without realizing it after wandering into the Land of the Undead.

The Night Helmeted Owl lay on top of the carriage roof, stealthily glancing at Char.

But Char was too preoccupied to pay attention to it. He was busy getting the Thunder Night Dragon, the Fierce Sword Firefly, and the Clover Mantis back onto the carriage—although the space was a bit cramped, it was a squeeze they’d have to deal with under the circumstances.

Then he had the Wind Winged Horse continue to pull the carriage slowly forward.

Although they had escaped the range of the Undead Tide and flown further ahead, Char didn’t dare to assume they were completely safe, so he wanted to keep moving forward as much as possible, which was better than staying put.

The Wind Winged Horse lived up to its role as a beast specifically used for pulling carts; although its strength was lacking, and its Challenge Level was among the lowest under Char, its endurance was quite strong.

After a fierce battle and pulling the carriage, the Thunder Night Dragon and the Fierce Sword Firefly were gasping for breath, yet the Wind Winged Horse still had the energy to continue.

Although its speed inevitably slowed, Char thought it was just fine as long as the Wind Winged Horse could still pull the carriage.

After a brief respite, Char, along with Freyja, began to assess the damage.

The important members were all unharmed, and beasts like the Thunder Night Dragon, the Fierce Sword Firefly, the Green Lotus Frog, and the Star Worm had few injuries apart from significant exhaustion.

The Praying Light Sword had sustained some damage. Its attribute was the nemesis of the Undead, which in turn greatly attracted the Undead’s animosity. It fought bravely in the battle, dancing through the air and charging into the hordes of Undead to fight valiantly in and out of their midst.

One could say that besides the Green Lotus Frog, which was only able to shine so brightly with the help of numerous vials of Holy Water, the sword’s performance was the most dazzling.

However, the price paid for its rampage was its chipped body.

After the great battle, the Praying Light Sword’s simple and archaic blade bore many new wounds, one of which was almost half as wide as the sword body itself, making one worry whether another battle would shatter the sword entirely.

Fortunately, the Bright Treasure Diamond played its role, and a bright white light flowed from the diamond to the sword’s body, filling its large and small cracks, lingering, and slowly healing the wounds.

The castle guards truly suffered heavy losses; out of the seventy, some died from the Undead’s attack while others died protecting important targets like Char and the Frost Crystal White Deer.

The important members’ ability to be injured but not die was in part due to the castle’s robust defensive capabilities, and also thanks to the brave sacrifices of the castle guards.

Besides that, the castle itself was damaged as well.

Two whole wagons, the target was simply too large. Facing so many Undead attacks, it was impossible to escape unscathed. Fortunately, the carriage did not suffer catastrophic damage.

Last was the loss of items caused by the hasty and reckless escape.

When Char returned to the interior of the carriage, he saw a complete mess. Many of the plants transplanted from the garden were damaged, and it was uncertain how many could be saved by replanting.

Even the various partridges raised in the chicken coop died from shock, including a Peacock Mountain Quail.

There was also Auson’s Mushroom House.

Because Auson had prudently moved the Mushroom House to the carriage in advance, during the escape, quite a bit of the soil and wood chips used for growing mushrooms had spilled onto the floor, and the losses were significant, causing him great distress.

But for Char, as long as the people were alright, everything was fine.

Among the many members, not a single one was in trouble, and Char already felt very fortunate. Besides, he hadn’t walked away empty-handed; during the escape, he had killed thousands of Undead, including a large number of species that had never appeared before.

Thus, after a fierce battle, he once again accumulated a vast amount of Praying Power.
