Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Fierce Battle, Goblins Everywhere

The goblins let out angry screams, brandishing their weapons as they chased after the carriage.

They began to hurl stones from a distance.

It was this despicable Half-Elf! It had stealthily killed many of their companions in recent days, including one of their leaders.

Now that they had finally found their enemy, how could they let him go?

Standing on top of the carriage, Char watched with a grave expression as the goblins, driven by the Big Goblins, charged at the carriage.

Big Goblins inherited the consistently nasty temperament of their kind, but their combat power was much stronger than that of the regular goblins, and they had more fighting spirit as well.

Although they also had a side that bullied the weak and feared the strong and would flee upon sensing danger, at least they would not start to rout at the slightest disturbance like the goblins.

Their combat strength was much stronger than that of the goblins,

Given Old Ma’s condition, even without any load and running at full speed, it might not necessarily outrun the goblins, let alone while pulling a carriage.

The only ones capable of this were Lantern Firefly and Star Worm—with Star Worm’s assistance, the killing power of Lantern Firefly would dramatically increase.

As for Lotus Leaf Frog and Betty?

The mobility of Lotus Leaf Frog was too weak compared to Lantern Firefly and Star Worm. Once surrounded by goblins, it would easily be killed—having the ability to fly was a huge advantage, regardless of being low or high level.

Immediately after, Char turned back to the carriage without forgetting to draw his bow and notch an arrow. As the bowstring tensed like a full moon, he focused, aiming and shooting an arrow like lightning.

The bowstring sang as the arrow flew, and the next second, the leading goblin screamed terribly, flipping backward through the air.

Char ducked down, feeling a slight thrill: He wondered if it was the potential aroused by the crisis, for that arrow had completely surpassed his usual standard and performed above his normal level…

In the distance, the death of their companion immediately triggered fear in the hearts of the other goblins, these ugly, short, green-skinned creatures. They screamed as they fled, only to hear a roar as an iron-clad wooden club swept through, directly smashing one of the fleeing goblins in half and flinging it through the air.

This goblin didn’t even manage to emit a whole scream before it split into two halves and fell to the ground.

Behind them, after killing one goblin, the Big Goblin emitted another roar-like reprimand, stopping the others from continuing their escape.

The goblins were so frightened that they dared not flee anymore.

In the days before, Char’s killing of solitary goblins had already stirred fear in these timid creatures. It took the brutal killing of several goblins by a few Bear Goblins to halt their escape.

Now with Bear Goblins and Big Goblins supervising them from behind, the goblins had no chance of escaping.

At that moment, the attack of the Lantern Firefly finally came.

The Red Glow streaked through the sky so quickly that the goblins, with only 1/4 the challenge level, couldn’t even react in time, getting struck one after another.

Red Glow was exceptionally effective against Smoke Weasel, forcing them to deploy “Gray Mist Substitute” to share the damage. For the goblins, it was even more fatal; the initial impact alone was enough to cause lethal damage, even without the subsequent burning.

Several goblins were directly killed by the Red Glow, even the Big Goblins couldn’t escape unscathed.

Although these few Big Goblins attempted to evade, they still got hit by Red Glow—Big Goblins were not known for their agility, and with the speed of Red Glow so fast that even the nimble Smoke Weasel couldn’t completely dodge, the “clumsy” Big Goblins had even less chance.

As the Red Glow struck, the Big Goblins let out a series of screams, but compared to the goblins, Big Goblins had much stronger defense and vitality.

Red Glow couldn’t kill them instantly; at the very least, they could hold on for some time before dying.
