Chapter 52: Chapter 5 Little Red Riding Hood Osen, trying to persuade.

In the forest, the fresh breeze brought the scent of grass and trees.

All thoughts flashed through Char’s mind in an instant, and at that moment, purple-red dust began to spill from Little Red Riding Hood Osen.

This was a sign that a skill was about to be activated, from the looks of it, Little Red Riding Hood was about to use “Spore Poison Powder”!

“Betty, quickly persuade him!”

Seeing this, Char hurriedly asked Betty to help.

If it came to a fight, the Clover Mantis would undoubtedly crush Little Red Riding Hood, just needing to slice lightly with its hand-blade, and Little Red Riding Hood’s head would immediately fall.

But at this moment, Char didn’t want to kill Little Red Riding Hood; he wanted to subdue Little Red Riding Hood and have him join the Castle as one of his subjects!

How could he kill him?

Not to mention killing, he couldn’t even cause injury.

But the Clover Mantis couldn’t let go either because once it did, he would directly burrow into the ground and run away.

If Little Red Riding Hood successfully tunneled away, even the Clover Mantis could only stare helplessly.

“Stop, Little Red Riding Hood! Mr. Char and Lady Tangling are not bad people, they won’t hurt you!”

Seeing Little Red Riding Hood struggle, possibly hurting himself in his ineffective resistance, Betty quickly shouted in a shrill voice to persuade him.

Perhaps because she was a little fairy just like him, or perhaps knowing that the Clover Mantis could easily kill him, Little Red Riding Hood ceased activating “Spore Poison Powder” upon hearing Betty’s cry.

The purple-red smoke retreated back into Little Red Riding Hood’s red mushroom cap.

Char sighed in relief.

Although he had been with Betty for some time, he still didn’t know how to communicate with these little fairies, especially since he needed to persuade the Little Red Riding Hood in front of him to join his territory.

Luckily, he still had Betty.

After Betty had persuaded Little Red Riding Hood, with a buzz of her wings, she flew in front of Little Red Riding Hood, showing a friendly gesture.

She first lifted her skirt, slightly bent her knees, and gave a curtsy to the Clover Mantis.

“Lady Tangling, would you please let Little Red Riding Hood go first?”

The Clover Mantis glanced at Char, and after Char silently nodded, the Clover Mantis finally released its hold on Little Red Riding Hood.

Although he chose to trust Betty, seeing Little Red Riding Hood regain his freedom still made Char a bit nervous, afraid that Little Red Riding Hood would immediately burrow and run away.

But luckily, after regaining his freedom, Little Red Riding Hood did not run away.

He just looked at Char somewhat fearfully, then quickly shifted his gaze to Betty, his expression and movements introverted and bashful, hesitant yet unable to hide his curiosity.

Clearly, it was Betty that had repeatedly made him hide and peep from the sidelines.

“What is your name?”

Betty curiously widened her big eyes, looking at Little Red Riding Hood Osen, and asked.

As spirits born from nature, fairies naturally feel close to each other, even though Little Red Riding Hood and the Little Flower Fairy were not the same type of fairy, Betty still showed friendliness.

“Osen… Osen.”

Little Red Riding Hood Osen stuttered in response, his accent a bit strange, appearing unskilled at speaking.

Seeing Osen’s behavior, Char had some suspicions in his mind.

He somewhat understood why, after several frightful escapes, he still repeatedly returned to peep silently from the sidelines.

It was mostly because Osen had not seen any other fairies from the day he was born until now.

Though the system said that Little Red Riding Hood was quite unique, introverted and shy, one of the few fairies who preferred to be alone and live in isolation.

But this didn’t mean that they were born to be alone or devoid of curiosity about their own kind.

Overall tendencies do not dictate individual cases, and while many Little Red Riding Hoods typically prefer solitude, it doesn’t mean every one of them enjoys being alone.

Thinking this, Char couldn’t help but feel a surge of joy.

Earlier he had worried that, given Little Red Riding Hood’s generally reclusive nature, convincing him to join the Castle would be difficult, especially since Osen wasn’t like Betty who loved crowds but lacked the ability to live alone.

Now, it seemed that Osen’s situation might be somewhat special, which significantly increased the likelihood of him joining the group.

Char’s heart thumped wildly.

He was a bit nervous since this was related to another one percent of the “Natural Seal”!

Although he was quite anxious internally, Char still tried hard to appear calm on the surface.

The Star Worm also flew to Osen’s side. Its pale golden light fell on Osen, like the setting sun.

It was evident that Osen didn’t dislike the Star Worm’s approach; instead of avoiding it, he subconsciously moved closer to the Star Worm.

The Star Worm was truly an angel loved by all in the realm of Demon Beasts, as, so far, all the intelligent beings it had encountered had taken a liking to it and wished to get closer.

“Hello, Osen, my name is Betty, I’m a Flower Fairy from Green Rose Village. There are several Flower Fairies in the village, and also two Wind Elves!”

Betty was so thrilled to meet a peer that she chattered nonstop, but suddenly her expression drooped, and her tone turned disheartened. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

“But Betty got lost, Betty can’t find Sister Felin and Tree-man Grandpa anymore, Betty is very tired and scared…”

As she spoke, tears began to fall.

Char was somewhat taken aback, about to offer some words of comfort, when suddenly her mood shifted dramatically, and she perked up again.

“But thank goodness Mr. Char saved me! Mr. Char is a kind man, he has a very big, transforming carriage, and beautiful Star Worm…”

The Star Worm emitted a chime-like merry sound, synchronizing with Betty’s words, swirling around Osen back and forth, emitting twinkling lights as if stars from the sky had descended into the forest.

“The gentle Lady Tangling…”

Osen looked at the Clover Mantis, unable to hide his skeptical expression.

The Clover Mantis folded her hands in front of her, bowed slightly, offering an apologetic look.

“And the good-natured Lotus Leaf Frog left in the carriage, as well as Mr. Lantern, who is annoying but very brave and fearless. Oh! And Mr. Char has a magical altar; it’s so beautiful!”

The more Betty talked, the more spirited she became, forgetting all about her previous sorrow.

Char silently shook his head in amusement:

The emotions of the Little Flower Fairy were indeed like the weather in June, changing on a whim.

One second she was happy, then suddenly saddened, and before even a second of sadness passed, she was cheerful again.

Fortunately, Osen appeared to be completely captivated by Betty’s words.

“You… hello.”

Osen lifted his head, quickly glanced at Char, the Star Worm, and the Clover Mantis, stumbling over his words, then immediately lowered his head again, looking nervous and uneasy about making eye contact.

“Hello, Osen.”

Char politely responded.

“Osen, are you alone?”

Osen nodded.

“Being alone is so lonely, isn’t it? Let’s be friends? Sister Felin has a Little Red Riding Hood friend, and Betty wants one too! Sister Felin even brought back mushrooms cultivated by that Little Red Riding Hood sister before, they were so delicious and fragrant.”

Betty excitedly started chattering again.
