Susan’s POV

I was seething with anger after Evander left me injured at home to go after Claire. I felt so furious I wanted to destroy everything around me. But soon, my rage soothed when my reporter friend sent me details about a private conversation between Zaniel and Evander.

A small part of me felt relief. However, a deeper fire was still burning inside! I needed something more to soothe it. So, I made up my mind to use Evander’s words to my advantage. I reached out to my friend, asking him to publish an exclusive article announcing to the world that Evander and I were "about to be one."

I didn’t care about the world’s reaction. I just wanted Claire to see it. I wanted her to understand that I still held a special place in Evander’s life and that she wasn’t the one for him. I couldn’t let her win at any cost.

After the article spread, I felt happy... until Angel informed me that Claire went ahead with another audition, despite my warning.

"That bitch!" I hissed as fury was building all over again. "Just what the hell does she want? Does she think I can’t get her thrown out of this project? If I got her cut from the last one, I can do it again!" I muttered, my voice filled with determination.

I turned to Angel with a hardened look. "Find out the names of the directors and producers," I commanded.

Within moments, I saved their names and numbers on my phone. Taking a deep breath, I started calling them one by one, greeting each person politely. The conversations went better than I expected.

When I finally called the producer, he answered on the second ring, sounding energetic.

"Hello, is this Mr. Harris?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

"Yes, speaking. And you must be Miss Moreau," he said, his tone full of excitement. "What a pleasant surprise."

"Really? Glad that you are excited to talk to me," I said as I tried to hide my smirk. He seemed to have seen the article and was already impressed by my status.

"Yes! I even wanted to contact you and cast you in my new project, Timeless Love!" He said and I could feel how happy he seemed that I had contacted him personally.

However, hearing those words made my heart race. "Thank you so much, sir. It would be an honor to work with you, especially since Damian Strome is involved. He is been my inspiration for years."

The producer chuckled. "Well, then it’s settled." He said and continued. "Why not come to the set today? We are doing an audition. I mean... It’s not the main character but the one filled with emotions that might catch more attention than the female leads."

"Really!? I can’t believe you are personally inviting me, Mr. Harris and to such a big project at that." I felt encouraged after our little conversation, so I decided to bring up Claire. "Mr. Harris, if you don’t mind me saying, I heard Claire might be considered for the project." I hesitated briefly before adding, "I don’t want to sound unkind, but I have worked with her before, and let’s just say... her attitude wasn’t the best. I wouldn’t want her behavior to disrupt such an important project."

There was a pause on the other end. Then he sighed. "Really? But who is that person? I am not aware of her!?" He asked.

"I hate to say it but she was once my friend and cheated on me with my money, and you can ask that she was kicked out of her last project. So, I think you’d be better off with someone more professional," I said, keeping my tone friendly but firm.

"Well, thank you for telling me," he replied. "I’ll definitely reconsider her, but before that... I needed to see who she is!" He said, and we ended the call after a little chat.

As the call ended, I felt a mix of excitement and relief. Not only did I secure a chance to work on the project, but I also felt confident that I had almost kicked Claire out yet once again. For now, I let myself enjoy the moment and looked forward to what would happen.

So, to see the sad and embarrassed look on Claire’s face, I decided to visit the set and see what was going on there. And as expected, all the attention was on me after the article

Even Claire, who seemed unfazed by my presence, looked stunned when she got to know about this, and I felt extremely satisfied by it.

I finally felt my anger was soothing, seeing Claire’s face. Now, all that was left was to meet the producer and fan the fire a little so that she could be kicked out of there once more. However, I was stunned to know that Evander was there too.

"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath. "Evan is here! I can’t go in front of him like this!" I said to Angel and asked her to do a makeover so that I could look good in front of him. She helped me, and soon I went to the place where the audition was being held.

"What the hell!" I whispered as I clenched my fist in anger! Claire was reciting my lines, which I was supposed to audition later. I wanted to go forward and protest, but before I could... Angel stopped me as she pointed at Evander, who was walking toward the stage, making me go crazy once again. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Looking at him being so tender toward Claire and saying all those words to her made my tears almost stream out of my eyes. I clenched my fist and bit my lips, as I tried to control them.

I couldn’t lose my control over my emotions! Not yet, since I was here to conquer!
