Evander’s POV

I looked at the two men standing in front of me—Damian and Caspian. The three of us had been through so much together, facing every storm, every victory, and every loss side by side.

Damian was once the golden son of a powerful family, but everything changed when he refused to take part in their endless fights over who would inherit the family business. He was kicked out, cast aside like he was nothing, just because he wanted peace instead of power.

Caspian, on the other hand, was a man with a heart too big for his own good. While most people looked out only for themselves, he was always helping the weak and the lost. He didn’t care about money or status; he just wanted to make the world a little better, even if it cost him everything, and he became a doctor.

Despite having a solid background and us being different human beings, there was one thing that tied us together—none of us had a real family to lean on. Damian’s family had turned their backs on him, Caspian had been orphaned as a child, and my parents had long ago decided their lives mattered more than their kids and even tried to ruin me. That loneliness was what brought us together. We found in each other what we couldn’t find anywhere else, which formed a bond stronger than blood.

Looking at them now, I felt a wave of gratitude. We weren’t just friends; we were brothers, forged in the fire of our struggles.

But here we were, fighting over something so petty! It felt ridiculous. One of them was ready to destroy the other over something that felt so trivial. And yet, if I were in their shoes, I had to admit—I would have done the same.

Still, this wasn’t the time for me to act on emotions. I had to think rationally, even when my heart was racing. I couldn’t let them tear each other apart. Never! They were my family—the only family I had worked so hard to build. I couldn’t just stand by and watch it all crumble over something so small.

The truth was, I wasn’t the best at showing my feelings. I kept my emotions buried, locked away where no one could see them. But even if I didn’t say it out loud, I was deeply connected to both of them. They meant everything to me, even if I was too stubborn to admit it.

"Listen to me, both of you," I said, my voice firmer than usual as I pinched the bridge of my nose in frustration. I felt like a parent trying to stop two kids from bickering over a toy.

And maybe that was what we were—a messy little family with our own share of flaws and fights. But no matter how much we argued, we always came back to each other.

As I looked at them now, I remembered all the times they had been there for me when I was at my lowest. When the darkness felt like it was swallowing me whole, they never left.

Caspian, especially, had been my rock. He stayed through every painful moment, never leaving my side, no matter how heavy my burdens became. And when Damian found out what I was going through, he dropped everything he was doing abroad and came back to me for the emotional support.

Now, it was my turn to be there for them, to remind them of what we had and what we stood to lose if we let something like this tear us apart.

"You two have no idea how much you mean to me," I said, my voice softer now. "We have been through hell together, and we have always had each other’s backs. I am not going to let this fight ruin everything we have built. And both of you don’t even try."

I took a deep breath, looking between the two of them. They weren’t just my friends—they were my brothers. And I wasn’t about to let them forget that.

"Either way," I said, exhaling slowly to calm myself, "I would like to meet your partner!" I leaned back in my seat, crossing my arms, and motioned for them to sit down too.

Damian’s face lit up as he immediately chimed in, "Yes! That’s exactly what I have been saying! When I was still abroad, Caspian told me he was bisexual." He turned to look at Caspian, raising his hands defensively. "I am not saying it in a weird way! I am just telling Evander what you told me, that’s all."

Caspian rolled his eyes, clearly unimpressed, and waved for Damian to continue. His expression practically screamed, Hurry up and get to the point.

Damian, oblivious or just stubborn, kept talking anyway. "So, yeah, I was shocked when he told me. Honestly, my first thought was, Does he like me? Or maybe Evander? I mean, that was my genuine reaction! But then—"

"Stop right there," Caspian cut in, rising from his seat with an exaggerated groan. He stalked over to Damian, narrowing his eyes at him.

Damian blinked up at him, looking confused. "What?"

Caspian pointed dramatically at his face. "Do you see that face of yours? That’s why I don’t like you!" he declared, pretending to gag. "It’s ugly! And you think I would go for someone like you? Yuck!" He clutched his stomach and acted as though he was about to throw up, stumbling back like Damian’s presence alone was making him sick.

Damian’s mouth fell open in shock. "Hey! What the hell—"

Before he could finish, Caspian smacked the back of Damian’s head, making a loud thwack.

Damian rubbed his head, glaring at Caspian. "What was that for?"

"For being an idiot," Caspian shot back, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "And for making everything about you. Not everything revolves around your precious face, you know."

I couldn’t help it—I almost burst out laughing. Watching them bicker like this was ridiculous, but it also reminded me why I loved these two idiots. No matter how serious things got, they always found a way to bring some humor into the moment.

And they want to destroy each other! I couldn’t help but think as I decided to mediate once again.

"All right, that’s enough," I said, slammed my palm on the table to stop them before it escalated further. "Caspian, sit down before you give Damian a complex about his face. Damian, stop assuming everyone has a crush on you. And for the love of everything, can we focus on what matters? Who is this partner you are introducing us to, Caspian?"

Caspian finally returned to his seat, brushing off Damian’s glare like it didn’t bother him one bit. He leaned back and smirked, crossing his arms as he said, "Why don’t you ask him instead? Wasn’t he the one spilling everything to you?"

I raised an eyebrow and turned my attention to Damian, who suddenly looked like a cornered animal. "Well, Damian, please continue?" I asked, my tone calm but firm, as Caspian and I both stared at him.

Damian’s face flushed, and his lips trembled as he struggled to keep his composure. "Oh, come on!" he burst out, his voice cracking slightly. "Screw both of you! I might be younger than you guys, but can’t you let me live in peace for once? You are always bullying me!"

Caspian rolled his eyes dramatically while I leaned back, trying not to beat the shit out of him! He would always be a nagging kid! A damn kid!

"I mean..." Damian continued, his voice breaking as if he were on the verge of tears. "I didn’t even get to apologize to Caspian! And now I am being dragged into this mess and almost destroyed over nothing!"

I sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Damian, do you ever listen to yourself? If you didn’t run your mouth all the time, maybe things wouldn’t get out of control."

Damian’s mouth fell open, and he started to say something, but I cut him off.

"So why don’t you sit there, keep your mouth shut, and let your big brothers handle this?" I said through gritted teeth, gesturing for him to stay put. "And for once, just listen to what’s going on without making it all about you."

Damian huffed and crossed his arms, sinking lower into his chair like a sulking child. "Fine! But don’t expect me to just sit here quietly while you two gang up on me. I have got things to say too, you know!"

"Sure, sure," Caspian muttered with a smirk. "You can say whatever you want— after you learn to use your brain before your mouth."

I shot Caspian a warning look before turning back to Damian. "Look, kid," I said in a softer tone, "we are not here to bully you. But you have got to learn when to speak and when to stay quiet.

Damian glanced up at me, his expression torn between frustration and guilt. "Kid my foot!" He rolled his eyes and said. "Fine," he muttered after a long pause. "I will stay quiet... for now."

"Good," I said, leaning back in my chair with a nod. "Now, let’s get back to what really matters. So, Caspian, when are we meeting your dear lover and—"

"Never!"

Before I could even finish my sentence, Caspian cut me off sharply.

I blinked, caught off guard by his sudden interruption. Damian, who had just barely started to relax in his seat, straightened up in surprise.
