Little did they know that the Zuian District was solely cultivator territory. The major reason being the fact that the largest and main branch of the Cultivator Guild in the Yuxian Continent was stationed there.

Powerful cultivators from all around the continent came to settle there because of the highly rewarding tasks given out by the guild. It was the perfect chance for Haruki to obtain his cultivator license.

They arrived at the Yuxian Cultivator Guild. As expected, it was large, the building occupied a lot of space. The influx of cultivators going in and out was very hard not to notice. The area was a bit crowded.

"Did you guys hear the Dongwa Sect are recruiting new members?"

"I have to apply. I heard the pay is crazily high."

"They also have access to ancient cultivation techniques that can shorten the time needed to cultivate a new trait in half."

Haruki overheard the idle chatter of some passing cultivators. ’Whoa, no wonder it is so crowded. I mean, I too wanted to join the sect at some point in my life.’

When he was younger, he had a dream of joining the Dongwa Sect, but due to his weakness, he couldn’t achieve it.

"Lord Haruki. I suggest we should hurry up." Ariel latched onto his arm. "I am not a fan of crowds."

They forced their way through the crowd and finally made it into the guild. A man with blonde hair and crimson eyes was being gathered around by a large number of cultivators. Especially the ladies, they were relentless; they all wanted to have a piece of him.

"Fuon-sama! You are looking ravishing as ever today."

"Fuon-sama, can I shake your hand?"

"Fuon-sama!"

"Fuon-sama!"

They kept on pushing forward with zero restraint. The man couldn’t help but wave at them with a bright smile on his face, which caused even more of an uproar.

"If you would all excuse Fuon, he has to attend to the sect applicants immediately."

A dark-haired lady with her eyes shut closed said loudly. The crowd dispersed in the blink of an eye, most likely due to fear.

"Tch, it’s Helia."

"That bitch."

"Lower your voice, you don’t want her to hear you."

Whispers of annoyance echoed around them. Helia dragged Fuon to the desk by the extreme end.

"Thank you, Helia. You are such a lifesaver," Fuon said.

"You can drop the act. No one’s seeing you." Helia let go of his hand.

"Tch, those irritating weaklings. One more step and I fucking swear I would slash somebody’s head off," he sneered.

Fuon was the vice leader of the Dongwa Sect. A prodigy who achieved five cultivation stars before he hit thirty. Also one of the most popular cultivators in the Yuxian Continent. There was almost no cultivator who didn’t know his name.

Helia, on the other hand, was quite hated and equally feared at the same time. A four-starred cultivator known for her instant kills and horrifying torture skills.

They were both important figures in the Dongwa Sect, known to have a lot of powerful cultivators. The weakest cultivator in the sect was at least a two-starred cultivator, and they could easily defeat mid-grade demons with ease.

Aside from having a lot of powerful cultivators, the main reason the Dongwa Sect was so powerful and feared was their leader, who was one of the very few who possessed triple traits and was a seven-starred cultivator in the Yuxian Continent.

Most cultivators could barely master a single trait, not to mention mastering three at a time.

"Welcome to Yuxian Guild, Main Branch. I am Hu. So what can I do for you today?"

The main receptionist talked as if he could drop dead any minute. The disinterest in his job was very evident.

"We would like to apply for our cultivator licenses," Haruki replied instantly.

"Whoa. When was the last time I saw a cultivator who had literal manners? Today must be my lucky day." Hu smiled weirdly.

He brought out two metal cards from underneath the desk.

"Just drop some of your blood here and all the needed information will be recorded," he added.

They both bit their thumbs and their blood dripped onto each card respectively. A white glow erupted from the cards. The receptionist turned his head, tapping his finger on his chin, looking disinterested as usual.

Then the cards started to burn red. His attention immediately shifted back to them. "Holy shit. You don’t see that every day," Hu exclaimed.

"You two need to come with me now."

Hu carried the cards and took them through a door that led to the Guild Master’s office.

"Master Dion. We have an irregular situation," Hu called out.

A chair in front of a desk spun around slowly. "What’s with those faces?"

A twelve-year-old boy dressed in a school uniform; the classic short pants, half-cut jacket, and a white shirt underneath.

"Isn’t he a little bit small to be a guild master?" Ariel whispered into Haruki’s ears.

"But the energy he is emitting is on a totally different level from the rest of the cultivators I have come across in this world," she added.

"Their traits and talents are on the level of five-star cultivators, maybe even six stars." Hu handed Dion their cards.

"Hahahaha. If Jixan should get a hold of this, he would want to make you his personal guards," Dion laughed loudly.

"Who is Jixan?" Haruki asked.

"He is the ruler of the Argil Clan. Don’t tell me you haven’t heard of him," Hu replied.

’Of course I have. But nobody refers to him as Jixan.’

"Before we discuss further, I would do you the favour of adjusting some details on your cards."

A white glow erupted from the cards. "Here you go." He threw the cards back to them.

He interlocked his fingers and placed his head above them. "Now down to business. Just like every other cultivator under us, you will be allowed to take on cleansing missions based on your rank," Dion said.

"But," Haruki added.

"I am sure you have other plans of your own? Because I have taken a liking to you, I will allow you to take on exclusive missions," Dion stated.

"I would prefer not to owe anybody anything, so I humbly reject your offer." Haruki turned around, about to walk out of the office.

"Oh. If that’s the problem, you don’t have to owe me anything. Won’t it benefit you to have an ally with my capabilities?" Dion grinned.

"Well, if you put it like that, then it seems we have ourselves a deal." Haruki walked towards his desk.

"Luckily for you, I have an exclusive mission right here." Dion placed a piece of paper on his desk.

’This is one slippery bastard.’
