Harem Cultivation System

Chapter 2: Cultivation 2 — Ally

Chapter 2

’Harem cultivator? Release?’

Haruki could barely get a hold of his current situation. To his surprise, the wounds and fractured bones all around his body were completely healed up with no traces of scars.

"Eh-Eh, you could say that."

He answered Ariel with an unsure tone. Haruki stood to his feet, still trying to understand if this was a dream or not.

Ariel grabbed onto his arms with literal sparkles forming in her eyes.

"Oh my goodness. Thank you so much, my lord. You must be some really powerful being to be able to so easily breach the Prison World."

"I owe you my life! Now that I think about it, you are very handsome. Could you perhaps be looking for a wife? Scratch that, I would like to know where I am. It has been centuries since I last saw the light or darkness. Either way, I am fucking free now!"

Ariel offloaded a lot of words at the same time. Haruki could barely process it all. But for the very least, he knew she was grateful and not hostile.

Her tone was quite delightful and pleasing to his ears. ’I wonder why they would lock such a person up? What could she possibly have done?’

Ariel continued to yap away. A demon closed in on them from behind, striking Ariel with its claws. A swarm of butterflies dove through the demon and negated the attack.

’Never mind.’

"Let’s get back to our conversation, dear, after I am done with these sons of bitches."

She clenched her teeth. A dark red aura surrounded her. More butterflies began to appear, filling the whole area. She stretched forth her hand, drawing crimson red essence from the butterflies.

The essence condensed, taking the shape of a staff. Ariel tapped the staff on the ground, making a subtle sound that echoed through the zone.

A circle with strange patterns appeared in the night sky, illuminating it brightly.

A large mass of golden energy formed before her. It moved forward, gathering the surrounding demons onto it like a magnet.

An explosion erupted, blowing the demons into bloody pieces that rained down, painting the entire corruption zone in red.

The deafening sound that came with the explosion made Haruki’s ears ring in agony. The power she displayed was like nothing he had ever seen before. The only individuals that were capable of such terrifying attacks on such a large scale:

The 14 Arcane Warlords. Each of them were at least eight-starred cultivators. A level that only a handful of individuals could achieve in an entire century.

He was now standing in front of someone that could match their level. It was truly a surreal experience.

’She wiped out hundreds of demons in one go? Even though they were low grades, that was no small feat.’

The corruption zone began to shrink, losing all of its rot. The demons that fueled its advancement were no more.

The only way to cleanse a corruption zone was to kill all the demons within it. It was recommended to kill them before they started advancing their grades. If a corruption zone is not cleansed in time, it would lead to an outbreak, which usually causes the loss of a lot of lives.

(Cleanse +2), (Vitality +3), (Stamina +4). Haruki saw texts popping up around him, and each of them contained different attributes.

’It was just a rumour I heard. But I didn’t think it would be true. So cleansing corruption zones actually gives attributes?’

Ariel’s staff faded into crimson dust. The bloodthirsty look on her face seemed to have disappeared alongside the staff. She made her way towards Haruki.

"Sorry about that. I tend to get a bit carried away sometimes." She rubbed her hair in a lacklustre manner. "So, what’s next? Shit! I totally forgot to get your name earlier. I am Ariel."

"I am Haruki Chen. Pleasure to meet you, Lady Ariel." He shook her hand.

’Oh my goodness. So charming,’ she thought.

"Before we begin to discuss our next course of action, I would like to know about the Prison World and Transcendent Calamities." Haruki let those words out with a serious look on his face.

Ariel’s expression darkened. It was quite obvious that she didn’t want to talk about those topics.

"If you insist. The Prison World is a dimension created to imprison powerful women that have been deemed as potential threats to the existence of multiple worlds, realms, and dimensions, who are then labelled as Transcendent Calamities."

"Don’t get me wrong. It’s not as if I committed genocide or something. Those bastards chose to confine me on a bloody whim. I would have fought back, but it’s hard to fight back when you get

ambushed." She explained meticulously.

"I know this is coming a bit late, but I am super sorry you had to go through all that. And I am pretty sure you didn’t deserve any of that."

Haruki’s warm words covered her heart like a warm blanket. A wide smile spread across her face as tears of joy rolled down her eyes.

"Just how thoughtful can you beeeee!" She fell onto his body, soaking him with her tears. It had been a very long time since she heard such words. Instead of support, she only received persecution for being strong.

"About that question you asked earlier." Haruki raised Ariel up and held her by her shoulders.

"What I want to achieve is not merely revenge, but to reach the very peak of power in this vile world." He made a brief pause to allow his words to sink in.

"As for what’s next, just like how every other empire was built, we gather our forces." His voice carried.

’It seems another predator has been born,’ she grinned inwardly.

"It would be my honour to be your first ally." Ariel bent her head slightly. It was her own way of showing loyalty and gratitude.

They headed for the Zuian District. Haruki decided not to go home until he got strong enough, and the Zuian District was the perfect place to lay low while he cultivated.

After running for a short while, they arrived at the Zuian District. Bustling lamp lights, the sound of carriages, and the humming engines of the steam cars filled the air.

Idle chatter of merchants negotiating with their buyers, food stalls, and craftsman shops lined each side of the roads.

After taking a moment to take it all in, Haruki and Ariel headed for the closest inn. The door creaked immediately he opened it. The death stares of angry cultivators were fixated on them for a minute.

"Welcome to Xuxen Inn. I am your humble receptionist, Gwen. How can I be of help?"

The receptionist welcomed them with a smiley face.

"I would like to book two separate rooms for me and my partner," Haruki replied.

"That would be 8 copper coins for two nights. Before payment, may I see your cultivator’s licence, please?" She stretched forth her hand.

"Ah, here’s the thing, we don’t have one." He rubbed his temples.

"Huh?!" Gwen shouted. "Then get the fuck out! Didn’t you see the signpost outside?"

She threw them out of the inn.

{For cultivators only}
