[YAROSLAV]
"I’m going to kill you if you don’t wake up soon, I swear," Yaroslav heard Milan’s voice in the distance.
He wasn’t sure what it was that had happened, but he could tell that the woman was so pissed, and he was somehow right in the middle of it. Maybe she tried to get into his bedroom again and got locked out?
Yaroslav couldn’t remember, honestly.
His eyes felt heavy, and his body felt like he had been hit by a truck. There was also a thick stench in the problem he was in, and it had him end one of what Milan had done this time.
"If you killed someone, I’m not helping you hide the body until I’ve gotten my beauty sleep," Yaroslav whined, turning to his side and pulling the covers over him like he was home.
But the covers felt different.
Too light.
Too much fibre.
The pillow was the same.
Unfamiliar.
And Yaroslav knew there and then that there was. A very high chance that he was at a hotel again. That could explain why Milan was so pissed.
Fuck, what had he done now?
"Milan..." Yaroslav greeted as he turned to the side of the bed that faced the angry voice.
And standing right there was Milan Popova, looking like she really was about to strangle the man with her mind, her hands, and Jay thinking she could get her hands on.
Yaroslav sat up, still feeling disoriented and hazy. He had no memory of anything right now, and generally, the only way out of this was an apology. It always sperms before.
Surely it would work this time, too, right?
"I’m so sorry, sweetheart," Yaroslav said as he rubbed the back of his head and yawned.
"What the fuck is that stench?" Yaroslav voiced when he realized the stench was more potent now, and he had inhaled it all. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Where the fuck were they?
"You’re awake. Good," Milan said, like she was truly about to kill him herself. She looked tired, as if the whole night had been the most stressful time of her life.
Yaroslav felt terrible for her because he knew how they always were with each other whenever they got drunk. It must have really been bad if Milan was here looking worse than he was feeling.
Damn, he must have stressed her into hell.
"I’m sorry I stink," Yaroslav said, head tilted in shame like he couldn’t think of how they had gotten to this point, but there was a good enough excuse this time. Would it sway her, though?
Finally, Yaroslav didn’t remember much of the evening or how they ended up here. The last thing he could remember was being choked unconscious by that crazy psychic friend of Katya’s.
That woman had tormented him, and atolls swore he would make her pay for humiliating him like that.
It was all just too much for him, and with Milan’s annoying voice being the first thing he heard, he could already assume that he was not at home, at the company, or even a hotel.
This was different.
Fuck he had had quite the day.
"What the fuck is going on?" Yaroslav asked, his voice hoarse as he struggled to steady himself without falling on his back. He could still feel his joints aching and his crotch too.
Damn, that woman had ruined him in broad daylight. There was no coming back from that.
And his father had done nothing.
Then again, he didn’t exactly expect his father to step up for him when he was the one who cheated, and everyone had gotten to see and learn it in the most shameful of ways for Yaroslav.
"Well, you wanna know what is going on? Your father has been hiding Kathy; that psycho friend got him to confess. Oh, and that Svetlana? She beat you. In front of the whole nation, and you took it like a little bitch.
"You wanna hear more? I had to take a fucking administrative leave to take care of you. As if that isn’t enough, your father refuses to see you for anything. Should I continue?" Milan screamed at him.
Yaroslav sighed as he noticed the familiar curtains and the bedside.
He was at Milan’s house.
Great.
The woman was probably already thinking they were married and were destined for forever, or whatever delusions she had spent the night roped in.
’Shit, won’t she stop talking?’ Yaroslav thought to himself as Milan gave him a recap of what had happened.
Honestly, Yaroslav wasn’t interested.
Not in what had happened after his neck had been snapped or what had happened to him to get him here.
All he could think of was Katya.
And where Katya was.
Maybe after Milan was done yapping his brains out, he would ask her calmly if anything about what happened yesterday hinted at where he was.
Because right now, Yaroslav couldn’t even get himself to process a word that came from the woman.
She was like an annoying alarm with her still voice that was grating on his ears as if someone was scraping metal right inside his eardrums.
Gods, she needed to stop.
"Are you even listening to me?" Milan asked, her shrill voice having Yaroslav rethinking all his life’s choices at that moment.
He didn’t even know what he was doing here and with Milaa in the first place. This woman was a recipe for disaster, and the fact that he had been here pissed him off.
He didn’t want anything to do with her today ally.
Because he had better think about being worried about not being the woman he was always going to be. A pain for him. If it wasn’t for the fact that he wanted to give Katya a baby with this woman, he would have tolerated her that long.
"Why am I here? Why am I not home?" Yaroslav asked.
Milan glared at him as if to ask him if he had lost a few screws on his head along the way. She had quite literally given him an explanation a few minutes ago, and he was asking her like he hadn’t been listening.
In all fairness, he wasn’t.
"What the fuck is that question?" she asked, exasperated, her frustration making a show. Yaroslav wondered if this woman wanted to parent him this early in the morning.
Was it too late for him to go back to bed?
"This is not my house, Milan, and I am not really in the mood for your shrill voice. Will you answer my questions or will you keep screeching at me like a bird?" Yaroslav asked angrily, having had enough.
He needed to find answers about Katya.
He needed to go to the company and ask his father for help, now that Sergei was back.
Sure, his father would probably strangle him for shaming the family with his cheating, but once they got over that, he would get the help he needed to bring Katya home.
He missed his omega.
He missed Katya’s citrus scent, and if he had to go without it for another dua Yaroslav, one whose heart couldn’t take it.
Katya belonged with him, even if Mr. Romanov had refused to pick up any of his calls asking about Katya’s well-being.
Yaroslav figured they wouldn’t know what to see or hear from him because of why he had done it.
But he would explain it to them.
Eventually.
And they would have to understand him if they loved Katya.
Because Yaroslav had cheated out of his love for Katya.
